Masako watched Joe answer for a moment, blinked, then turned back to Kiku.

"Right, right? It's so weird!" It was like she had immediately forgotten she was supposed to be whispering. She placed her hands on the counter and began to motion rapidly along with her words. "They act like wild animals or something most of the time, but are they actually being controlled? How does that work? How does this yellow person control them, if she even does? And there's two of them? How does any of this - "

"Uh." Momo blinked, walking up to the group holding a few plates of food. "Is this some TV show or something?"

Joe let the other two speak for a minute. He didn't know anything more than what the forums had, which meant Masako probably knew as much as he did at this point. He was pretty much useless in this conversation.

...Until Momo showed back up, questioning Masako's yelling again. Completely forgetting his lie from earlier, Joe immediately latched onto Momo's assumption. 'Yeah! The show! War of the Magic Elders! Its... er...'

...I've used that one before, haven't I?

Why don't you take a page from Kiku's book and just shut the hell up?

Kiku glanced from Momo, to Joe as he failed to finish his lie, to Masako before another look towards Momo. Kiku simply remained silent, not quite meeting Momo's eyes as she scratched the back of her head. She couldn't come up with a lie, hoping Masako could pick up the slack as the gray-haired girl just looked nervous.

Momo frowned. Well, this just didn't make any sense. Joe was a ruffian, a scoundrel, a delinquent - wasn't he supposed to be good at lying? It wasn't really that surprising that Kiku wasn't saying anything, and Masako... Momo didn't really have a good read on Masako yet, but she was looking at Joe kinda funny, so maybe she was thinking the same thing. After Joe's incredibly bad lie, they all stayed in silence for a moment... before Momo sighed and shrugged her shoulders, passing the food out. Masako and Joe got their burgers, Masako looking at hers warily.

"Look," Momo started, "I don't really care what kinda shows you guys watch. You can keep talking, I won't listen. No need to be embarrassed." She paused, then continued, "Though, while you're all here, I did want to ask something. You've all been here longer than me - except maybe you, Kiku-chan - so have you heard of the Ruwashi Park incident?"

Joe tensed up at the mention of Ruwashi Park. That couldn't have been a coincidence. Momo was catching on. What the hell were they suppose to do in this situation? Joe knew, at least, that if he told Momo about persona and that ended up putting her in danger, Ryuunosuke would never forgive him. So he had no choice but to keep playing dumb.

At least he didn't have to lie about Ruwashi Park. Not much, at least.

He shrugged, still not making eye contact. 'I was out of town when that stuff happened so I don't really know many details. I mean... it was just a gas leak, right? Sucks, but... that sort of shit happens.'

Kiku had meant to ask someone about the incident at some point herself, but it had never come up and she'd always forgotten. It seemed so strange, all things considered, and Kiku was a little curious about it.

Joe didn't seem to know anything either, and Kiku looked back towards Momo as he finished speaking. "I-I'm sorry, nothing comes to mind. Besides what I've heard about o-on the news."

Joe was playing innocent, Kiku actually didn't know, and Masako already had half of a burger shoved in her mouth. Momo sighed and shrugged her shoulders. "Alright, just curious. Thanks for telling me, though." She gave Joe a bit of a look after she said this - she still didn't really believe him, but didn't want to escalate anything while Kiku was here.

She turned to Kiku, smiling. "You want anything to eat, by the way?" She asked, holding out a menu. Momo winked. "I can try and swing you a discount. Benefit of being friends with the chef."

Joe couldn't meet Momo's look. She knew. There's no way she didn't know. She was giving them a break this time, but soon she'd be asking them about 'magic people' and shit, and then how was he suppose to respond? He'd have to warn Ryuunosuke that she was getting suspicious. God, why did Joe have to suck at lying so much?

Well, all of that was stuff to think about later. She seemed to be dropping it and there was a delicious burger sitting in front of him that was just asking--nay, demanding--to be eaten. He glanced down at Kiku while picking up his food. 'Get what we're getting. It's Bleu's recipe--damn good.' He took a bite. 'Or anything else,' he continued, still chewing his food. 'I'm gonna guess everything here is awesome.'

"Uh, s-sure. I'll just have what they're having." Burgers weren't usually her thing, but if Joe thought it was a good idea, it was probably fine.

She smiled at Momo, but otherwise remained silent after giving her order. After the last few questionings, she was afraid of speaking up and having Momo overhear them once again.

Kiku didn't know what to think of Momo's questions, but she had to have been catching onto something. They needed to be more careful - Ryuunosuke had already scolded her a few times for talking too freely about Personas and the like, and she didn't want to screw up again.

But why ask about that park incident? What did that have to do with anything? It was just a gas explosion - was Momo just curious about things she wasn't in town for?

Masako continued quite happily shoveling food down her gullet. It wasn't squid, but it would do.

At Joe's comment, Momo smirked, crossing her arms and nodding pridefully. "Yup, yup! I can guarantee the quality of everything on the menu! All of it is - wait, who is Bleu?" She frowned and gave Joe another look. When Kiku ordered, Momo quickly turned to grab her menu and flash the girl a quick smile before immediately looking back at Joe with the exact same facial expression as before. "Is this some kind of silly nickname?"
