"This plan is great," Momo insisted. "It'll get all the kids coming in again!" "You really just want to get your little brother and his friends some cheap food," Ichiro pointed out. "Well," Momo replied, "There's no reason the sale can't fulfill multiple purposes." It really was a good idea - just a bit after school got out for the Taiyoutono and Reitaku students, the Peach Grill would start serving them food at half-off. It was always on Friday, too: just before the weekend, which would make students more likely to come out and stay late. They couldn't stay quite as late as Momo would have liked, since Ichiro, the owner, had insisted on making the sale only last until ten to promote 'good sleeping habits.' Momo was certain her efforts to explain that kids these days didn't have sleep schedules would get through her boss's head eventually, though. For now, the sale would hopefully still perform well. Despite the Peach Grill getting a wonderful new head chef in, business had remained slow. News of the bistro's increase in food quality had not been travelling as fast as Momo and Ichiro would have liked, so they were banking on the student sale bringing in some fresh customers. It was two minutes until four. Momo glanced at the clock for the third time in ten seconds. She was standing behind the counter of the Peach Grill. The way the bistro was set up, there were booths against the eastern wall and Momo's counter to the west, with some tables between them and in the corners. People could eat at the counter, and behind it was a small kitchen set up so that Momo could cook while the patrons watched. There was a larger kitchen in the back, where most of the prep work was done, but it was invisible to most customers. Momo glanced down at the advertisement taped to the front of the counter. She loved the Peach Grill's aesthetic: it had a rustic theme, with brick walls, wood-framed windows, and a hand-painted sign hanging above the main entrance. So why, she wondered, had Ichiro made all the student night fliers bright green? It looked practically radioactive, and to make it worse, they were everywhere - on the counter, on the front door, and out in the streets, being passed out by some of the part timers. She was considering crumpling up the nearest one when someone walked in through the front door. Momo perked up, glancing over to see who had come. Standing in front of the bistro, Sio looked at the flier that she got a while ago. "Peach Grill?" The young author muttered to herself. She was just on her way from Taiyoutono, heading home when someone handed her the flier. Due to the unusual choice of the color for the flier, Sio was somehow curious about this place. Also, she was a little hungry, so she decided to come to this place. She didn't usually eat outside, but that '50% off' somehow piqued her interest. And she was lucky that she just received her monthly allowance from her uncle a while ago. Might as well spend the money to fill her stomach in the meantime. Also, she was sick of the instant foods that she always had back home. Sio took a look on the flier for the last time before she folded it and put it into her purse. Then, she entered the bistro, and she was greeted by the sight of the interior. She just stood there in front of the door as she took a good look inside the bistro that she just entered. |

A relatively normal-looking girl with a dark taste in fashion walked in the door, and Momo was relatively pleased. A student, it looked like - and a nice one, too! Not like some of the weirdos Momo had met already. Taiyoutono in particular seemed to attract a lot of fairly questionable people, so it was nice to see someone who looked like an actual human being walk through the door. Almost made Momo feel more secure about Ryuunosuke's choice in school - honestly, if he'd met someone like Joe at Taiyoutono, who was to say - oh dear, she had forgotten to say anything. "Hello!" Momo said, waving. "We're open right now, just... kinda empty. Have a seat anywhere." She gestured around the restaurant and all the open seats, and specifically to the counter in front of her. Maybe the girl would sit there. Maybe Momo could talk to her. Maybe she knew Ryuunosuke and Momo would get to interrogate her - or at least, treat her respectfully as she should any paying customer. |

"Ah," Sio was welcomed by a woman. Just like the woman said, the bistro was empty at the moment. Well, might as well sit down, the young author thought to herself. She decided to go to the counter instead of taking a seat at the other open seats. It was a decision that she made on a whim. "Please excuse me," she said as she took her seat there. As she was sitting, Sio continued looking around her. She had yet to ask for the menu. |

Momo was somewhat pleased that the girl decided to sit at the counter instead of at one of the booths - it was a chance to grill her. While she grilled - at the Peach Grill. God, that flier was gaudy. It was so bad. What had Ichiro been thinking? Smiling, Momo reached behind the counter and pulled out a menu, handing it to Sio. "Here ya' go," she said. "Take your time. You want anything to drink?" Momo was no stranger to the service industry - she was technically supposed to help the customers at the counter as well, although usually, there'd be someone behind the counter to help her. |

"Ah, thank you," Sio said as she accepted the menu. Well, she might as well choose something to drink, but there were so many to choose from she was unsure which one she might like. After reading the menu for almost a minute, Sio looked up and said, "Chocolate milk, please?" Then, she looked back on the menu to see if there's something she'd like to eat. |

The news about the increase in the food's quality had certainly spread enough to reach the ears of one Ryouta Murakami. Albeit not much of a foodie because of his strict diet, he decided it wouldn't quite kill him to go after a day at work to check the place out. What's more, he was hungry. His appearance was rather unassuming. Granted, dressed in a dark red argyle vest over a dress shirt, with brown pants and black shoes, he might look somewhat fancy, but it wasn't like he looked like he could harm anyone (if one were to ignore his rather notorious frame, of course). Passing close to the Grill, he received a flier in some rather... scorchingly bright colors. It contrasted rather heavily with the general way the restaurant looked. It made one wonder - who even made that choice? Regardless, he stepped inside. It wasn't like he'd receive the discount, but unlike the actual target of the discount, he had a salary. "Er, hello?" There seemed to be some people inside already - as in, two people at the counter... |

Chocolate milk! She ordered chocolate milk! Momo smiled and nodded. "Of course! Gimme a sec." She turned back and grabbed a small carton from a freezer with a glass case. Only good kids ordered chocolate milk, she figured, so presumably this customer wasn't a ruffian. Momo placed the carton of chocolate milk next to Sio's menu. "Let me know when you're ready to order," she said. Then someone else walked in and - oh fuck, his biceps were huge. Whoa. This guy was bara as fuck. After taking a moment to regain her professionalism, Momo smiled and waved Ryouta in. "Hello! We're open. Feel free to take a seat anywhere." |
