Ryuunosuke's grin re-emerged, watching Charles gleefully jump into Momotaro Ramen. He walked in himself, sitting back down to have the noodles placed in front of him. He turned and listened, interested as Joe asked where Charles have been. "Yeah, I haven't seen you for a while, Oliviera-san. Where've you been?"

Charles started to slurp noodles faster than he could process words. He had to stop eating for a few minutes before he answered, only because the soup was still hot for him to completely inhale.

"Aaaa. I was in Hong Kong. Had to settle things that followed me overseas from Canada. There was triads, Russian mafiya, and cartels getting mixed in with the Yakuza. It was a bit of a shit show the past few months, but I'm back. Still problems."

Charles asked for water and caught his breath for a few seconds. The Japanese wasn't coming to him as fast as it used to. His grammar was Russian, his vocabulary was Spanish, and his syntax was Cantonese right now. Everything but the actual language he was speaking. Three months could make someone forget a whole deal.

"Torako hasn't talked to me once since I got back, even when I see her in class. I kinda went most of the three months without saying anything, only messaging her a few times over email. So, even with my old problems settled, new ones come up."

His eyes darted back to his noodles. The steam was starting to dissipate a bit faster as it cooled down. Time to scarf down more noodles!

"But what about you guys? I'm still catching up with folks left and right, so catch me up. Where you guys been?"

Charles started talking about Hong Kong and Mafiya and cartels and holy shit what had he gotten himself into??? Joe knew Charles was into some shady shit but this was way past what he had expected.

Then again, before he had left, Joe had fought a cyborg pirate under the employ of a mad scientist Russian who was kidnapping teenagers with super-powered anthropomorphic egos. In fact, both of the others had been there fighting too.

Nagashima was weird.

As Charles went on, he talked about trouble with Torako. It sounded like she was ignoring Charles. Joe showed concern, but before he could ask about it, Charles asked them how they had been.

'Uhhh. Well, I traveled around Japan for a few months, sort of lookin for myself, you know? Met some pretty cool people, partied a lot... Oh!! I actually got to perform on stage with some friends at a pretty big venue! Well, bigger than anything I'd played here, at least! Wasn't any Budokan, but it was still pretty fuckin sweet. Anyway, those friends started gettin busy with other things and wasn't much happenin, so I came back here and... uh....'

Joe trailed off as he realized he had gotten to the part of the story where his life started for fucking suck. But he didn't want to trouble either of them with his own fuck ups, especially since Charles was having problems with Torako and Ryuunosuke was still mourning Nana. his eyes darted from his ramen to the others and back before he started up again. '...Well, I got a job, got an apartment... Guess now I'm just lookin for a band. Or maybe I'll start my own, dunno.'

Joe slurped up some noodles to avoid looking at the other two for a second. Hopefully, they'd just assume he had graduated. He had been a third year, after all. After a moment, he returned his gaze to the group. 'Anyway, I haven't heard what Ryuu's been up to either. What've you got for us Trippin, where did you run off to?' He planned on asking about Torako after Ryuu got done.

Ryuunosuke, on the other hand, wasn't entirely sure if Charles was being serious or just being Charles with the triad business. Figuring he was better off not asking, Ryuunosuke started eating, listening as Joe started talking about what he had been up to. Charles was apparently having some troubles, but Joe at least seemed to be doing well - both of them had apparently gone on some kind of crazy adventure. When the question was turned back onto Ryuunosuke, he paused, swallowing the ramen he'd been eating. "Me? Uh..."

He paused - he really hadn't done much. "Nothing as exciting as you two. My parents and I moved back to Tokyo for a while, but I'm back here for the school year." He left it there, not elaborating on when or why.

"Well, at least you two stayed out of trouble." said the boy, eating more noodles. He wondered momentarily if they bought his story. It didn't matter if they did. The truth was the truth. Such was the way of his life, living as large as he did. A large life breeds tall tales. "I hope you two dealt with your emotional baggage too, in that absence. I know I sure as fuck did.

He grabbed the bowl and finished the broth. One bowl down, many more to go. And more conversation to have. It was nice to be with friends again.

"Oi, tonkatsu for this next one!"

Joe smirked ruefully when Charles said they had been staying out of trouble. In fact, Joe's troubles and emotional baggage had compounded several times since getting back. Of course, that was neither fun or related to ramen, so he kept it to himself.

Speaking of ramen, Charles had ordered a second bowl! Joe stared, as if his friend was eating the money he didn't have. Come to think of it, Charles had shown up by jumping from a roof into a dumpster. All the physical activity probably made him pretty damn hungry.

Joe turned back to his own bowl of ramen. ...I've made a huge mistake.

Well, you didn't need to pay your phone bill anyway.

Oh wait.

Wait, yes you did.

In the interest of taking his mind off of the next month of his life, Joe decided to focus entirely on conversation. 'You mentioned something about Torako. What's up there? I mean, if you don't want to talk about, ain't gonna twist your arm...'

Ryuunosuke chuckled awkwardly when Charles brought up clearing their emotional baggage. Yeaaaaaaaaaah, about that...

He stopped and started shovelling ramen down his throat in an attempt to avoid that particular conversation. As he did, the topic turned to Torako, Charles's ex. Ryuunosuke, still eating, turned and listened to the conversation. Rather quickly, however, his chopsticks hit the bottom of the bowl. Was he that hungry? He paused, then placed his chopsticks down, considering ordering a second bowl. On the one hand, Joe was paying, but on the other, Joe was paying.

Staying quiet and looking still a bit hungry, Ryuunosuke waited for Charles's reply.
