Name: Shido Inao
Gender: Male
Age: 17

Class: Reitaku 2-C

Clubs/Occupation: None.

Personality: Shido comes across as a rather impersonal yet almost bland boy; when it comes to strangers and acquaintances, he's largely inexpressive and cold, acting a tad curt at the worst of times and with a quiet sympathy at the best. He lives his life almost mechanically, adhering to a routine more often than not and trying to keep himself out of much trouble. Though he is a bit curious about the more outlandish things that may happen around town, he largely suppresses said curiosity and tries to go through his day without involving himself in much of anything.

Perhaps the most noteworthy thing about the largely dull Shido are his morality and his strange complex -- or rather, his complex, and the way it affects his morals. Rather than considering things "good" or "bad", Shido judges the things, people, events, ideas, and concepts that present himself around him as "ugly" or "beautiful". What's more, there's little internal consistency in his way of imparting judgement; a brash, aggressive, rude person may, by his standards, have an ugly personality, and yet, if their aggressiveness, rudeness and brashness are presented in a dignified or stylish fashion, he may very well accept these traits and consider the person carrying them to be praise-worthy and majestic.

As it stands, this skewed perception of reality, with beauty and ugliness as its focal points, doesn't affect his day to day life, where he considers most of his surroundings, and even himself, to be "insipid"; yet, it's the main cause of his overall indifference, and it's something that may deter or assist other people's attempts at befriending him, if not even cause trouble in the future.

In spite of the peculiar way he views the world around him, Shido is quite a dependable person in most mundane circumstances, and doesn't quite mind most responsibilities. While he may not be specially helpful or go out of his way to be of use to others, he carries out the duties given to him with diligence and care. As a result of this diligence, he had garnered quite a good reputation among the teachers of his last school, and has always had the grades to match his conviction.

History: Shido was born from the union of Ryotaro Inao and Nanako Amori, a publicist and a graphic designer.

The boy, overall, had a rather mundane childhood. Aside from being an awkward child when it came to socialization in his early age, little was of note. He got along fine with most of his kindergarten classmates, but, the words they sometimes said to one another were simply something he couldn't grasp. He would stare in confusion when someone was called "ugly", or when someone was called "pretty", and find himself astonished at the kind of reactions those words triggered. What did those things exactly mean, and why were they important? His interest and curiosity piqued, he asked for an explanation from his loving parents one afternoon, to the best of his ability as a small child, and the answer he received was, well... not at all extravagant.

But that answer introduced him to the concept of beauty before he was introduced to many others, and as a result, he began judging new ideas he'd learn as ugly, pretty, beautiful, gross, and so on and so forth. This strange mindset carried onto his late infancy without ever being corrected, however, because, up until then, his ideas of what was pretty and what was ugly aligned well with what was good and what was bad -- there was no point in teaching the boy of the difference between the four, because he'd simply associate them with each other again due to the similarities he'd perceive. Besides, clearly he would out of them eventually.

As he reached his adolescence, it turned out that he did not. His standards for the world around him as a teen were the same as they were child, just broader and more far-reaching. This caused him no trouble, and he got through middle-school with no trouble at all; but with the slight drop of cynicism adolescence affects young boys with, came a small alteration in his view of the things around him. While he previously had paid no mind for what was mundane, only focusing on things, people, ideas, and concepts he found particularly pleasant or unpleasant, his teen years made him grow more judgemental, and he quickly began to impart that judgement to the common things around him.
He found them to be unnoteworthy, and thus, insipid.
The same applied to himself.
As a result of this change of perspective, Shido grew colder and more joyless, a bit disillusioned with the more mundane things around him, and grew more impersonal as a result of this, with only what he found beautiful being able to elate or entertain him from there on out.

Luckily for him, the now boring, mediocre sights he was accustomed to back in Tokyo were ones he'd leave behind. His parents, deciding it would be best to prepare for their son's days at university, decided to relocate to Nagashima in order for him to attend Rokujima University in a couple more years. As a result of the move to an expensive residence in the island city and a slight financial mishap, their usually comfortable financial situation would be forced to shift over to a more humble one for the year to come, and so, Shido had to be inscribed to Reitaku High School in place of the more respectable Taiyoutono.

Appearance: Shido has a lean, pale, diamond shaped face and a mildly pointed chin. His eyebrow are gradual and the slightest bit thick, his eyes are almond shaped and gray, and his eyelashes are long and the slightest bit feminine.

His hair's black and goes down to the middle of his neck on the back, just under above his mouth on the sides, and to his eyes on the front. It's silky and straight, if a bit shaggy, and he usually slicks his bangs up or up and to the side, maintaining his forehead uncovered more often than not.

He's 178cm (5'10") tall, of average build and weight, if not a bit lean, and his skin is pale, though not to the point of unhealthiness. He usually dresses with a blue blazer (of which he only owns one) and a white button up when not in school, alternating between different pants and shoes depending on the occasion.

His default expression is solemn, yet distant, and his rare smiles carry a tangible sense of joy with them, even if they often look a bit unnatural coming from such a generally inexpressive person.

Weapon: He has little in the way of a fighting spirit, but he finds with his fists or any sort of improvised weapon when is necessary, even if he finds the idea of battling in such crude ways to be rather unsightly. Ideally, he'd get his hands on a rapier, finding that sort of sword to be refined and pleasing to the eye, even if he has no training in its way of combat.

Mask: Something like this (the one on the bottom), except with with steel blue coloring at the eyeless edge.

Persona: The Slavic goddess of beauty. A literally radiant, shining maiden with doll-like white skin and an ornate, constantly flowing white, yellow, and gold dress. She's devoid of a face and carries a thin, long estoc-esque sword in her hand.
