Rika stared at the other girl who was Izumi's sister. When she asked her whether she's the one who screamed earlier, her cheeks reddened a bit, feeling slightly embarrassed. It was her moment of weakness and she was caught off-guard.

"N-no, I wasn't screaming! I-I..." She glanced at Izumi. "I... I'm just s-surprised, that is all! Caught off-guard, y-you see?" That was technically true, indeed! And she believed that she just yelped when the books fell, not screamed. She could only hope that these sisters could tell the difference between the two.

Izumi just looked at Ayame when Rika became embarrassed and corrected her. "Ayame-chan, yelping, and screaming are different." She said to her sister who spoke back to the two. "I consider yelping sort of screaming as long as It attracts numerous people...But let's forget about that." Ayame said as she looked at Rika and spoke again. "So what were you two talking about?" Ayame said curiously as Izumi spoke. "Oh, Taiyoutono, Rika-san goes there and her brother will start there the same time as you," Izumi said as Ayame just looked at the time.

"Really?"

She then focused her view solely on Rika since what she was about to say involves her brother.

"Maybe me and your brother might meet Rika-san?"

Rika's left eyebrow twitched upon hearing from Izumi's sister that there is no difference between yelping and screaming, as both of them can attract numerous people. That is completely untrue! Completely, utterly and absolutely untrue! There are a lot of differences between yelping and screaming, Rika didn't know where to start. She might as well start ranting about the nuances and distinctions between the two, but quickly decided to drop in upon hearing what they said next.

"Yes," Rika nodded to Izumi's sister. "My brother will start there at the same time as you," she looked at her. "So, you are Ayame-san? Like Izumi-san said, my name is Rika Ishikawa. I will be a second-year student this year." She bowed. "Pleased to meet you."

"Hmm... perhaps you'll be able to meet him once the school starts again?" She smiled at the younger girl. "In case if you ever meet him, please be his friend. He may seem like a troublemaker, but he's actually very decent if you come to know him," she said. She regarded her younger brother's general behavior with disdain, but she still loved him all the same.

As Rika introduced herself to Ayame, she spoke back to the girl happily. "It's nice to meet you too...Again." She said as Rika talked more about her brother more, how he was a troublemaker, but want's Ayame to be his friend should she meet him, although she doesn't like to hang out with people that act like troublemakers as such, maybe Rika's brother won't be so bad, Rika also revealed that she was going to be the second year this year. "Oh, that will be nice, maybe we might run into each other one day once school starts." She said to Rika as she quickly replied again about her brother.

"And don't worry, I'll befriend your brother when I get the chance, I'm sure he's nice and caring, he's just not showing It around people." She said to Rika smiling.

And soon Izumi changed the subject.

"So...Rika-san, I'm guessing the reason your here Is to get books? What kind of books are you interested In?"

"Thank you," Rika nodded. Maybe her brother could use a friend who wasn't a bad influence to him. And from what she could see, Ayame looked like a nice girl and a nice person to talk with.

Upon hearing Izumi's question, Rika looked at her, mulled over it for a few moments before she answered, "I was just searching for something that might catch my interest." Then, her expression darkened a little as she scowled. "Being in here is a lot better than seeing minors committing immoral activities. Kissing in public? That's unacceptable!" She said.

She was about to rant again when she realized that she was still in the bookstore. "A-anyways, I came in so that I could avoid looking at such... unsightly thing," she said.

Ayame looked at Rika again and smiled. "It's no problem." She said.

As Izumi seemed interested In Rika's reply that she just wanted to look for something...And to get away from the kissing the two people from earlier did. "Oh? You saw them too, I agree, I hate romance...Just all of It." Izumi said as she sighed before looking at the books. "But there're tons of books you can find and help you avoid those thoughts Rika-san." She said to Rika as she grabbed one of the four books from earlier. "Like this one." She said looking at the book before showing It to Rika.

"What do you think?"

Ayame looked at It and cringed.

"That book, The one with the whiny college student?"

The book Izumi was holding was The Catcher In the Rye.

Rika blinked as she looked at the book that Izumi showed her. She was not all that interested in Western literary works (though she had to admit, she actually liked The Hobbit), and while she had heard about The Catcher in the Rye, she wasn't quite invested in it and had never read it. All she knew about the book was that it was quite controversial.

"What's this book all about?" She asked, studying the cover of the book that Izumi showed her before she looked at Izumi's face. "Whiny college student? What's that supposed to mean?"

Izumi looked at Ayame after the comment she made on the book and decided to tell Rika what the book was about since she was confused on its plot.

"A book that takes's place In the span of three day's, depressed student Holden Caulfield get's expelled from his boarding school and spends the upcoming Christmas holiday wandering around New York thinking about life and all its misdeeds, the book has a lot of symbolism...And a few swears that you can easily get past If you're not easily offended by them, It's a very great read and It's one of my best suggestions for a fictional and an amazing story." Izumi said happily, Ayame said otherwise.

"Na, It's not that amazing...Let me tell you the real story of this book Rika-san." She said to Rika as she explained the plot of the book her way to the confused girl.

"The book, Catcher In the rye, Is about a whiny and one of the biggest idiots In literature, Holden Caulfield, who Is the manager of a fencing team at a boarding school, which I question who would make him manager. Anyway during a time where the fencing club need's to practice, Holden, being the angsty idiot that he Is, leave's their equipment on a train one morning and rightfully get's expelled due to his incompetence and other stuff he did before the story, the rest of the book Is just him walking around New York...Angsting while swearing at the same time, because as It's theorized...Swearing was cool for him...There's also a perverted teacher.

There were no movie adaptions...And rightfully so!"

Ayame finished her talk on what The Catcher In the Rye was about...Now both sisters wanted to know what Rika think's of the story so far.

"Well...What do you think Rika-san?"

Hearing the description and synopsis of the story, as well as two different opinions regarding the story, Rika had decided that the book wasn't for her. She's not exactly a fan to swearing, and she didn't see any appeal in angst or anything like that.

"I think..." Rika said after a few moments of consideration. "This book is not for me." She gave an apologetic look to Izumi.

"I'm sorry," she said.

Ayame nodded her head when Rika said the story was not for her. "It's ok...I understand, It's not for anybody due to its stupid premise." Ayame said as she wondered If Rika was interested In manga. "Maybe a manga might be just for you Rika-san If you want to read one." She said to the girl wondering If she wanted to head to the manga section with her, Izumi just stood there and looked for other book's Rika might be interested In.

"Oh, I found something."
