Yes… I’d sell the souls of all humanity to the devil if I thought it’d get us a happy ending.
Aiko sighed softly. “Yeah… that’s kinda the problem. My mom gave you guys the wrong time and I didn’t even know it because I was still getting ready so… Extra half hour of movies, woo” She halfheartedly gave the girls jazz hands before she melted back into her more cheerful self as she let the girls inside her house. “But hey, we’re all here, right? And Hanako-chan brought the movies! With Akemi-chan’s snacks and Kaya-chan’s drinks, we’re all set to go, right?” She of course didn’t add that it also meant they could skip right to her room and not have to worry about running into her parents at any point~

Except for the fact that her mom chose that moment to peek around the corner and see all the girls standing there. “Hey girls! Sorry about the little mixup, I didn’t know that Aiko planned on a different time!” She smiled sheepishly and gave them all a polite wave as Aiko pinched the bridge of her nose. “I’m going to stay out of your hair for now, just wanted to just pop in and say hi to all of Aiko’s friends!”

“Yeah, thanks for that, mom” the short-haired girl sighed. Her mom smiled one more time before retreating back towards the living room, finally leaving Aiko free to be with her friends without the worry of any future parental interference. “So! Upstairs, am I right? We’ve got our introductions out of the way, now how about we get to lazing around in front of a TV?” And I guess have Sandra and Akemi meet Hideo too. Briefly. I at least know where the cover for his cage is this time… She nodded brightly and began to lead her small squad up the stairs towards her room. “So, you guys had a good day?”

"Likewise, Sandra-san! I don't think we had a chance to really talk too much when we first crossed paths?" True, business transactions and socializing were different sorts of beasts. At least she got to meet and speak with her in a more casual context.

"Hello, Miss Wakabayshi! It's very good to see you again!" Aiko's mother was beyond a delight. She was so nice and friendly. She didn't get at all why her daughter seemed embarrassed by her presence around her friends. If anything, Hanako was slightly jealous for that kind of relationship with her own mother.

But enough pining about that! Everyone was having a good time so far. Kaya seemed awkward around oter people as she usually did but far less uncomfortable. Sandra was looking to engage her in conversation and she was mindful to be on hand to provide an 'out' if it looked like it would lead to a faux pas, but otherwise she let Kaya come into her own.

"Oh yes! I've been in a good mood 'cause I've been looking forward to this all day~! The theme was around outer space right? I got a few choice gems, and I grabbed a few other films while I was at it for good measure!"
It had been far too long since their last get together, but that's what she recalled. Hopefully something for anyone's taste. She followed right behind Aiko to the way up the stairs.

"I'm honestly relieved it's finally over…"
For her and Aiko, at least. She knew Kaya was only a second year and weren't sure about their plus+two. But high school was over for herself and Aiko for sure, at least! No more entrance exams until…she joined the work force, probably!

Akemi grinned in delight as Sandra spoke a few words in Portuguese. Now that was a pleasant surprise! "My God, it truly seems like us Latinas are everywhere! We should make a club." she replied with a warm grin, accepting Sandra's offer for a handshake. "And it is truly delightful to meet you, miss Arboleda. Where do you come from?" Her Spanish wasn't great, but she could exchange a few words if need be.

It was almost enough to eclipse the fact that oh my God, yes, she was indeed early... but it wasn't her fault! The actual person at fault - Aiko's mom - peeked from around the corner, and she looked like such a lovely woman that she couldn't really hold it against her. Feh, mistakes... Everyone made them. "Heyo!" she greeted the woman.

"Oh yeah, my day's been great! Not like I've done much aside from lounging around, but that's really my favorite thing to do on a lazy day." she replied, following Aiko up the stairs.

Kaya stared blankly at the two girls exchanging words in a foreign language. While she couldn't be sure, if she had to guess it might have been Portuguese. A shame that she couldn't understand it, but it would probably be eavesdropping and that's just kind of rude and bitchy. She did think about how it would be nice to see South America one day, maybe visit that statue of Christ.

Also, she heard that Brazilian food's great.

She gave the girls a very slow and stiff nod as she made her way upstairs.
"My day's been well. Been looking forward to this for a while."

"I apologize for not bringing anything to eat - I am somewhat unaware of the etiquette to follow with gatherings like these." The girl bowed to Aiko slightly. "However, should you wish me to, I could always prepare coffee for everyone. I would say it is my specialty."

Not too long after, Aiko's mom appeared. Not one to pass on basic pleasantries, Sandra bowed. "Good evening, Mrs. Wakabayashi. It is a pleasure to meet you." For as much as they were probably not going to see the woman a lot, it was still good to introduce oneself to the host, right?

"We certainly did not, Ito-san. However, I expect that, having been gathered here, we will get to know each other better." She smiled, a pleasant, polite smile. It was true - Hanako seemed to be... a character, at the very least. It made the foreign girl curious.

Speaking about foreign, Akemi replied in Portuguese, as it was to be expected. "If I am to be honest, you are the first other Latina I encounter in Nagashima. However, given immigration rates to Japan, it is still an astonishing fact." A question had been made. "I am from Colombia, from the capital. What part of Brazil are you from, if I may ask?"

The other girl wasn't nearly as talkative, but Sandra wasn't about to pressure her into speaking more if she didn't wish to.

"My day has been rather unremarkable thus far, so I expect this meeting to hold quite a lot of value. My expectations are high, Wakabayashi-san." Shifting into a deeper, more serious and threatening tone for a second, Sandra stared straight at Aiko. "I jest, of course. I am certain that the evening will be entertaining no matter what."

"Awwright, glad to hear everyone's been doing good! Can't really enjoy a good horror marathon in a bad mood, right?" Aiko asked playfully as they ascended the short flight of stairs that took them to the second floor of her house. "Today's just going to be all about keeping on having a good time. Maybe scare ourselves silly a little bit, who knows?" Which was a cheeky joke on her part, of course. Like she was going to be scared by a horror movie she'd seen about five times at this point, please. "Glad I got you to watch my back, Hanako-chan! This is going to be the most movie-intensive night of our lives, mwahaha~"

Soon they reached the second floor, and Aiko lead them to the door of her room where faint squawking could be heard. "Alright, so just a warning: I have a bird. I don't know if bird allergies are a thing, but I hope none of you guys have one. You don't got to worry about him making any noise though, I'm planning on throwing the cover over his cage so he goes to sleep. Works every time." Aiko reassured them with a thumbs up before opening her door, where Hideo greeted them with a rapid flap of his wings inside his cage.

"They're coming... They're coming... They're coming to get you Barbara!" the grey parrot squawked as he hopped around on his little perch while the girls poured into Aiko's room.

"Oh hush, you silly." The short haired girl shook her head as she reached through the bars and stroked his feathery head, to which the bird cooed contentedly. "Oh hey, you don't have to worry about snacks Sandra-chan! I mean, it's my house; most of the snacks should really come from me. We're totally going to need some coffee later on though, we got no time to be falling asleep when we're trying to watch movies, right?" she said with a chuckle. She then pointed to her TV, a 42 inch flat screen located in almost the exact center of her wall, surrounded by horror memorabilia of all kinds, shapes and forms. "Alright, so basically just sit anywhere you'd like! I've got pillows for guys who want to sit on the floor, the bed can fit about two people on it, and then we can get started!"

Take a seat anywhere? With an invitation like that, Hanako was happy to just find a spot in front of the bed, with her back to a post.

"So, what should we watch first?"

Surely there was a lot more discussion to be had, and perhaps a bit of fawning over Aiko's talented pet. But Hanako felt the need to step back into the background for a little bit. It was the first time for some and not making a big ruckus would be good for Kaya's nerves, right?

Akemi chuckled. "I suppose it must be something in the air that draws us here, uh? Actually, I'm half-Japanese on my mother's side, so she always wanted me to keep in touch with my roots." she replied to Sandra. Colombia, uh? Like every country in the world surrounded by other countries, Brazil had its stereotypes linked to foreign nationalities - but the truth was, she hadn't met that many Colombians in person. "I'm from Salvador da Bahia! It's in the north-east. Best city in the world!"

Then they stepped into Aiko's room. Now, one of the world's most hallowed traditions was such: the first meeting with a host's pet had to be accompanied with proper gushing over said pet. Said pet happened to be a rather adorable grey parrot, and Akemi's grin stretched in a suitable manner. "Helllllo, handsome! I'm Akemi, what's your name?" she greeted the bird, leaning in towards the cage.

She liked birds. Birds were cute. Especially when they could talk and squawk in their cute lil' goofy way.

"He's a looker. Would you mind me petting him?" she asked Aiko. Sure, she'd get to that "TV" thing soon enough - that was a nice TV -, but damnit, there was a cute bird in the room and that fact deserved that some time be spared for it.

Kaya stared at the parrot for an inordinate amount of time. She was oddly fascinated by the bird, especially one that could actually talk. Were she not sure of whether or not Andre would try to eat this thing, she would consider bringing him here.

Still, she recognized that line it was quoting. Drumming her fingers against her leg, she said out loud,
"Night of the Living Dead. I see you've been preparing. I have a pet as well, but he prefers cartoons, I think. Or historical dramas. Both help him sleep."

"Oh my."

That was certainly a greeting that Aiko's parrot had given them. "I take it that he is used to watching movies with you, Aiko-chan?" She couldn't help letting a small chuckle out upon making that observation.

"I can most definitely help with the coffee, that much is for sure." Colombia ran in the girl's blood, after all.

Speaking of Colombia... "Ah, I see, Ribeiro-san. I have to say that I have never been there, nor have I heard anything about your city in particular - for which I apologize - but I can only assume it is a nice place."
