Sio stared at Aleph's face for a few moments. And then, she said, "Not very productive," in her usual deadpan, toneless manner. After that, she shrugged. "But not my place to say that," she added. If Aleph wanted to do nothing while relaxing all day, she had no right to criticize him. And when she thought about it, there's nothing wrong with people doing nothing at all.

Then, she held out her hand, as if telling Aleph to hand her something. "My bag," she said. "Want to take my book. Need to read while resting," she said. Aleph was the one who took some of her bags earlier, and she wanted to read some book while resting for a bit.

Oh, thank God. She believed him. For a moment, Aleph thought that she would see through his lie and then the conversation would've turned super awkward. Anyways, Aleph quickly handed Sio one of the bags after she held out her hand and asked for them.

"Oh, okay." He said. After he handed her the bag, he looked at the rest for a moment, then looked back at Sio. "So, what kind of books do you usually read?"

Sio took the bag from Aleph before she took out a book. It was a Japanese translation of one of the books from A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Dance With Dragons. This is the latest novel of the series, and she had already bought the previous ones. She also bought the original English ones.

Hearing Aleph's question, Sio answered in her normal toneless voice, "All kinds of books," she unwrapped the plastic cover of the book before she checked the front page and the back page. She also checked the thickness of the books before she placed the book on her lap. "Though prefer novels. I like stories."

"How about you, Serizawa-san?" Sio asked. "Do you read?"

Aleph looked at one of the books that Sio was reading. A Song of Ice and Fire. That was a rather interesting selection, he had to admit.

Isn't that the book where everyone got killed at the wedding?

That's Game of Thrones, Adonis.

But Adonis did have a point. A lot of characters seem to have a real bad habit of dying a lot throughout the entire book series. Or at least, that was how Aleph interpreted them.

Aleph shrugged when Sio asked him about his reading habits. "I tend to romance novels from time to time." He said. "I also read...shonen manga...often. Yeah."

"I see..." Sio mused before she opened the book. She quirked her eyebrow when she found a free bookmark inside the book. Which was good, because she needed a bookmark to mark the page of the book she's reading so that she wouldn't damage the book.

"Why romance, in particular? And shonen?" Sio asked. She liked reading stories due to her profession as a novelist. While most of her works revolve around the theme of existentialism, she had no particular favorite genre or theme when it comes to reading novels.

She didn't start reading the book as she looked at Aleph with her usual half-lidded eyes.

"Why shonen? Well, why not?" Aleph said, smiling. "I mean, I read shonen because I like all the action and combat scenes. I also enjoy all the drama and plot arcs and things like that."

Aleph then looked down for a moment as he moved on. "As for romance, I like it because it just speaks to me on a personal level." He said. "I mean, it reminds of what it's like, the feelings you can share with people when you love them. When you care about them. When you...trust them."

He then remembered about all the times he had hung out with his friends, including Seiji. All the good times that they had, back when everything used to make sense. When they talked about their future careers and how they had both planned to settle down and raise a family. It was wonderful. Purely wonderful.

Aleph felt like crying at that moment. He missed those days.

But he resisted the urge to tear up and instead continued talking. "Anyways, sometimes the romance novels tend to be pretty goofy and cliché." He said. "But, most of the time, that's just what makes it charming, really."

"Oh," Sio responded to what Aleph said in her usual simple and terse way. She thought that such reasoning was sappy, but she's not one to judge one's taste.

"But the real-life isn't the same like the books," Sio then said. Despite being an author and a novelist, it was one truth that she had accepted long ago. "Still, I understand that," she then nodded. She had heard many unflattering things about this boy, but from what she could see so far, he wasn't really that bad.

Sio still didn't read the book as she stared at the cover of the book she held.

"I know. But still, it helps to fantasize a little bit about how relationships could just simply...happen, you know?" He said. "Like, you'd just form a connection with someone, probably without even realizing it. It makes you feel good inside."

But Aleph had already been emotional for a one day. He shook his head before turning to Sio and smiling.

"So, you really read all kinds of books?" He asked. "There's no specific genre or anything that you prefer or find interesting or anything?"

Sio stared at Aleph as she listened to him. Well, one thing for sure was that this guy loved fantasizing a lot. She didn't know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. Oh well, one thing to look forward, then.

She tilted her head as she heard Aleph's next question. About books, she would read them regardless of their genres.

"As long as they have printed pages, I read them," Sio said simply. "Just love to read," she added. "How about you?" She then asked.
