Sio went shopping at the shopping center. Well, it's a shopping center, so it's natural for people to shop there. She went to buy some food, a few books and magazines, some new clothes (the plain ones that she could use while going into the ruins) as well as some other random stuff that a normal girl like her would buy.

As a result, she ended up carrying quite a lot of bags. They were a tad heavy, and her small body didn't help much either. She should try spending her time training her body so that she could do heavy lifting without tiring herself out.

"Should've brought a trolley," Sio muttered to herself as she searched for a bench so that she could rest for a bit. "Curse this small and weak body..." She muttered again as she looked around to find the much-needed bench for her to sit on.

With heavy bags and heavy heart, Sio continued her quest to search for the much-fabled bench. This time around, most of them were occupied, and she was forced to walk while lifting all those heavy bags. Despite everything she had done in order to be more physically-active, she still had a long way to go to make herself physically fit.

Aleph sat on a bench in the middle of the shopping center, browsing Bedlam on his cellphone. He watched the video that Suzu had uploaded a few days ago, then played it again. He still couldn't believe that she had actually recorded what was supposed to be a one-time moment and put it up for everyone to see.

Then again, he also couldn't believe that he had pointed a flaming sword at Suzu's face. In hindsight, he realized that the way he had reacted to Suzu's rude greeting was seriously over the line. And now, everyone got to see it. Which would clearly make things even more difficult between him and Seiji. And probably him and Machi too.

God dammit. Why do I keep making things worse like this?

Okay, so you got involved in a conspiracy to get Seiji beaten up then you pointed a sword at his girlfriend. On the bright side, when you really think about it, all of this actually could've been a whole lot worse.

How?!

Seiji could be in the hospital and Suzu could be dead. Which, when you really think about it, actually would've been a most tremendous and beautiful blessing.

Aleph stayed silent as he read over the thread while his Shadow spoke. Now that he pondered the words of Adonis and his Shadow, they were somewhat right. As bad as things had gotten, they actually could really have been, ultimately, much much worse. Which made Aleph that much more grateful that things manage to stabilize at some point.

Look, just apologize to Seiji.

Yeah, sure, Adonis. Apologize. Because that always works.

Well, it won't fail if you just be completely sincere and acknowledge your mistakes. Tell him that you know that the shit you did was wrong and stupid. And then, promise him that you won't turn his back on him or hurt him ever again. Promise him that you'll be the greatest friend that anyone could ever ask for.

...You really think that would work?

It would, if you just tried hard enough.

...I guess you're right. Okay. I'll do it! I'll be the most sincere and atoning guy Seij-san's ever seen!

That's the spirit!

Aleph smiled to himself as he switched from Suzu's thread to the PM system screen. Although, he wasn't sure if he really wanted to PM Seiji just yet. After everything that had happened, he was probably still pissed at Aleph. He would have to wait for Seiji to calm down before he could talk to him again. But, for now, Aleph would have to talk to someone else. It was at that moment that Aleph remembered one of his friends, Kinzaki. And also...

Oh shit! The choker! I'm still wearing it! You don't think she heard anything I talked about with Haru, did she?

Not sure. I mean, she was kidnapped, then she was rescued. So...fuck, I don't know.

Aleph quickly switched from the PM system screen to his phone's text messaging system. He then quickly typed out short text to Kinzaki, then sent it.

Text Message

From: Serizawa, Akira
To: Kirihara, Kinzaki

Hey, Kinzaki-san! I need to talk to you about the choker. Considering everything that happened and all that, maybe we could remove it?

After he sent the text message, he noticed a girl walking around with a lot of bags. They actually looked pretty heavy. Feeling bad for the girl, Aleph quickly put his cellphone in his pocket, then got up from the bench and ran over to her.

"Hey! Wait!" He said. "You need some help with those? I can help you, if you want me to."

Sio heard a voice asking her if she needed help. She stopped walking and looked at the owner of the voice, which apparently belonged to a boy she couldn't quite recognize. Well, she had trouble remembering everyone's face and name, so it's only natural if she did not recognize this guy.

She stared at the boy's face for a while before she nodded. "Need some help, yes," she smiled a little at him. "Thank you."

She stared at his face again, and after a pause, she asked, "Do I know you?"

There's a chance that she really didn't know him, but knowing her tendency to forget people's names and faces, she had to take a precaution. She really needed to try to remember people's names after this, because she knew that things might get awkward if such tendency was to continue.

Aleph smiled as the girl accepted his offer to help. He then proceeded to carefully take some of the heavy bags, hoping to ease some of the load off of her. When she asked whether or not she knew him, he bit his lip for a moment, then shook his head.

"I'm sorry. I don't know if we actually met." He said. "But, either way, I'm Akira. Akira Serizawa."

Sio stared at the guy who introduced himself as Akira Serizawa. She had seen the name multiple times on Bedlam, and she had learned of most things about this guy from binge-reading the threads in the forum. Still, he didn't seem like a bad kind of guy, his reputation notwithstanding, so she wouldn't judge him based on what she had learned from Bedlam.

"Nice to meet you, Serizawa-san," Sio said, bowing slightly. "Name is Sio," she introduced herself to Aleph. "Sio Murakami. Just call me Sio," she said, smiling slightly as she looked at him.

She was thankful that this guy offered to help her. At the very least, she's no longer carrying most of those heavy bags.

Aleph nodded as Sio introduced herself. It was always nice to have a polite and casual conversation with someone without having it suddenly turn foul then escalate it into something much worse. It was always good to do that.

"It's nice to meet you too, Sio-chan." He said. He then looked around for a brief moment before looking back at the bags he was now holding. He turned back to Sio.

"So, where were you planning to carry all these?" He asked.

Sio nodded. She was thankful of his assistance. And he seemed good enough, and she hoped that most things she saw on Bedlam were mere exaggerations. The screw-ups mentioned there were simply unrealistic to be believable.

"Planned to bring them to my house," Sio stated. Then, after a pause, she added, "Want to sit for a bit." She motioned at the bench where Aleph was sitting previously. "Alright with you?" She asked Aleph.

She was tired and in desperate need for a respite in the form of a bench.

"Ah, I see." He said, nodding in understanding. The bags were indeed pretty heavy. How Sio had intended to carry all of them back home was a bit of a mystery to Aleph. But it didn't matter now.

"Oh, uh, okay. Sure." He said, then calmly walked back over to the bench, saving a spot for her. It was probably better to wait until she sat down first.

Nodding and giving Aleph a grateful smile, Sio went over to the bench and settled herself down on the spot where Aleph had saved for her. As soon as she sat on the bench, she let out a relieved sigh. After standing, walking and carrying heavy bags for a lot of minutes, she finally got her chance to rest for a bit.

"Thank you..." Sio expressed her gratitude to the boy beside her. Then, she took out her phone and checked her inbox. She got a few messages. One of them was from her uncle, while the rest were spams. Sighing, she deleted the spams. She really hated all those spams. About her uncle's message, she decided to read it later.

"What are you doing here in the shopping mall, Serizawa-san?" Sio asked. Due to the nature of the question, she couldn't simplify it like she always did, so she asked Aleph in complete sentence. That's a real shame, considering that she liked talking in shorthand.

You can just tell her what you're not doing. You're not hanging out with Seiji, because you and him have finally reconciled and that everything is going to be just fine from here on out.

Aleph hated his Shadow. He really did. Technically, he was just watching Suzu's video on his phone while kicking himself over and over again because god dammit, everything could've gone so differently if he had just responded differently. But there was no way Aleph was telling Sio that. So, he had to settle for a reasonable alternative.

"I was just sitting on a bench, relaxing all day." He said. "I don't really have a whole lot to do, to be honest."

That's not true. You have to mend your relationship with Seiji, reason with Suzu, and fix your broken heart once and for all. So much to do in so little time.

You know, I kinda liked you better when you were making fun of me about not being friends with Machi-san. Because at least back then, Seiji-san was still my friend.
