Name: Toru Hirofumi Gender: Male Age: 26 Class: 3-C, Art(/Substitute) Clubs/Occupation: Toru works at Reitaku as its aggressively passionate and enthusiastic art teacher, being a waking nightmare for students who feel that the subject is an easy, effortless grade (despite being smaller than most of his students and being, well, Toru). He's also called upon to fill in for other teachers in the rare occasion where they're indisposed, and has a comfortable side business selling clothes and costumes online. Personality: Toru is energetic and passionate. He applies himself to everything he does and will make a point to put all of his effort into his work. He's a very creative and artistic mind, prone to looking at things from a unique point of view and seeing a beauty and value in most things. Optimistic and cheerful, Toru is able to see the best in most people and scenarios. He knows how to bring out the bright side of a dreary situation, and he does his best to be encouraging and positive both for others and for his own sake. Toru is a remarkably intelligent young man thanks to his varied interests and 'do it 110% or don't do it at all' mentality. He has a working knowledge of several subjects like human physiology, nutrition and literature, but his one true calling is costume design and tailoring. Toru has an eye for design and fashion, and is an excellent and dedicated craftsman, even when not working with clothing. Toru loves working with his hands and making new, beautiful things to share with those around him. In addition, he's very well-read and has a near encyclopaedic level of knowledge when it comes to assorted aspects of popular culture. Toru has and will always be described as "girly" by those around him. He's okay with this. He enjoys pretty, cute and feminine things, he knows that others don't think he should, and he doesn't care. As far as he's concerned, he likes pretty things, he likes being pretty himself, and he's not hurting anyone by indulging in either. Of course, for the sake of his career and Saya's, he's reluctantly had to dial back on his dress-up time. He's a little hung up on his own appearance, and goes through great pains to ensure that he looks his best. That's not to say he's vain; he would never dream of putting down someone else in order to make himself feel good, and he feels no joy in making light of the accomplishments of others in order to draw more attention to his. Toru wants everyone close to him to feel as confident and proud of themselves as he is. Despite his optimistic and friendly nature, Toru runs into the problem of not being able to tone down his energy sometimes. While Saya enjoys the quiet moments and silent relaxation, Toru needs to be doing something with himself or else he'll start losing his composure. It doesn't have to be anything particularly high energy, it could be writing, doodling, reading or just snuggling up to Saya. However, even when he's tired after a long day or worn out from his daily regimen, he cannot just sit about and do literally nothing. He needs something to occupy his mind at all times, even if it's just menial labour. On the plus side, the Hirofumi residence is always clean. Most importantly of all, he loves his wife Saya more than anything else in the world. History: Toru Hirofumi does not look like somebody whose real name is Toru Hirofumi. Most people assume that he's a Japan-obsessed foreigner who's given himself a fake name, or they see his wedding band and assume he's taken on his wife's surname. While Toru wasn't born in Japan to a Japanese family, he was raised in Japan by a Japanese family, and in his opinion that's close enough. He doesn't remember his biological parents, his original given name, or really much of anything prior to moving to Japan with his family. He knows that his adoptive parents were respected members of the community and had been looking to adopt a child for some time before he came to be in their care. Toru's family had always planned on moving back to Japan someday, having been in America for over ten years on what was supposed to be a month of business. They decided that their adopted child would have an easier to adjusting sooner rather than later, after he had started understanding American culture. So, they made it a point to finally transition the family back to Japan shortly after Toru's adoption. The boy grew up in Japan, learning the language and culture as any child would. Even as a small child, Toru was enamoured with the bright, colourful state of Akihabara and the extravagant ways some of the people there dressed. He was particularly fascinated by the lolitas and their elaborate, fancy dresses. One day, little Toru had found one of his mother's old dresses from when she had been his age. Curious and excited, he snuck out wearing it, eager to show it off and be pretty like all the other girls he had seen. Of course, being a boy, others didn't think he should be wearing a dress. Some thought he was adorable, sure, but a group of older children instead saw him as an easy target. It didn't take much to break Toru's spirit, and he can still remember the horrible, crushing feeling of hurt an humiliation as those children drove him to tears. However, one girl stepped in to defend him. Toru can't remember when he started to love Saya. From the moment she had stepped in to defend him, he knew she was his friend. He stayed close to her ever since, partly because he enjoyed her company, and partly because nobody would dare touch the "dress boy" with her around. She gave him confidence and courage, whether she knew it or not. He's fairly certain his self-confidence and optimism is owed to her, and he knew that without her he'd probably be repressing and hating himself right now. He had blurted out his feelings for her in a brief moment of spontaneous courage, and was utterly shocked when she actually accepted them. In hindsight, it didn't seem like that much of a surprise, she had accepted everything else about him too. When it came time for Toru to "accidentally" blurt out a proposal, he was actually fairly confident that she'd accept that too. She did. Married life has been happy for Toru, although the couple's lack of funds left them buying a home instead of going on a honeymoon. He's stood by his decision to go into teaching instead of fashion design: what he and Saya needed was a steady source of income so that they could afford the kind of life they wanted together. Still, he sells his work online as a second source of income; the young man has held onto the hope that every costume or outfit he sells online will bring the two of them closer to a magical journey to somewhere new and exciting. Appearance: Observe the precious cinnamon roll that is Toru Hirofumi. So smol. So pure. Toru is neither a big nor masculine man. He's short, waifish and has a feminine face and figure. This is actually the deliberate result of some minor herbal supplements, cardio and a hormone based diet (a diet which revolves around cutting down on foods heavy on testosterone and androgens while prioritizing foods that promote healthy skin and other feminine qualities), although it's possible that genetics plays some role. Toru's dieting and regimen also help the condition of his skin, leaving him with a flawless, creamy complexion and a smooth body without much body hair. Despite an utter lack of muscle mass, Toru has exceptional cardiovascular health and strength, and he is a very fast and durable runner. (He is also a decent dancer, although a bit of a bashful one and not exceptional at it.) The young man's blonde hair and bright blue eyes immediately mark him as a foreigner, but he makes no attempt to change that, instead styling his hair in ways just as feminine as the rest of him. While he loves having his hair long and gorgeous, he's cut it short in order to be seen as "respectable" or "employable". It goes without saying that Toru dresses in women's clothing. He adores pretty, fancy and frilly clothes more than anything; he is far more likely to be seen in a dress than his wife would be. While he does the sensible thing and wears ordinary gym clothes during his daily exercise regimen and dresses in ordinary clothes when he and Saya have somewhere important to be (like work, where he reluctantly dresses in masculine clothing for the sake of his job), one can frequently see him walking around in lolita fashion or dolled up like some manner of princess or magical girl. Fancy and formal clothes that require a certain amount of prep time seem to be his absolute favourite. Weapon: Unlike Saya, Toru hasn't put in the time to learn some kind of exotic weapon. That'd just be silly. If he were to - for whatever utterly implausible and outlandish reason - feel the need to learn how to use a weapon defend himself from... let's for laughs say evil shadow monsters or something, the most likely weapon would be the naginata, due to it working best with his build and size. (And because he is a dork who would love to be a lady samurai.) Mask: In stark contrast to Toru's love for pretty, colourful and fancy clothes, his mask is fairly dark, rugged and spartan. It is a black, seemingly leathery material, shaped like a coyote's head and covering the top half of Toru's face. Persona: Aztec shapeshifter god of trickery, song, dance, good luck, storytelling, wisdom and male sexuality, Huehuecoyotl appears as a topless young man wearing a coyote pelt like a hooded cloak. He wears a colourful skirt of vibrant cloth, with a thick coyote tail hanging from the back. The top half of the Persona's face is hidden in perpetual shadow, his only discernable facial feature being a wide, manic grin. When casting offensive spells, the Persona makes a wild, sweeoping motion at himself before spontaneously turning into a beautiful woman, still dressed the same (its coyote cloak just barely keeping it decent) and still faceless and grinning wildly. The Persona's shadow sticks out even when the lighting shouldn't make it visible, completely ignoring the Persona's shape and movements and instead looking like a featureless man constantly banging on a drum. ~Name: Huehuecoyotl ~Arcana: Moon ~Drain: ~Weak: Earth, Light ~Null: ~Reflect: ~Resist: Darkness, Force ~Skills: Analysis, Mudo, Marin Karin Have you read all the stickies?
