Name: Saya Hirofumi Gender: Female Age: 26 Class: 1-B, Math Clubs/Occupation: Saya works as a teacher at Reitaku High, undertaking the nigh impossible task of making math engaging and accessible for her students. She also has occasional acting or modelling jobs on the side. Never anything major that would get in the way of her teaching job: mostly local commercials or promotions. Personality: When people see Saya and her husband together, they frequently peg her as both the brains and the sense in the relationship. However, while Saya is intelligent, she's far from humourless and is completely open to her own moments of immaturity and childlike enthusiasm. In fact, while Toru is often diligent and passionate in all things, Saya is easygoing and even a little lazy unless something truly grabs her interest. Sometimes, all she wants to do is just sit back, watch the clouds go by and spend the day taking it easy. This occasionally puts her at odds with her more energetic husband, but she knows how to put her foot down and stand her ground without getting combative or hurtful. Despite her playful moments and her generally laid back and casual nature, when Saya needs to be the voice of reason or take control of a situation, she does so swiftly and with absolute authority. Her father taught her how to command the attention and respect of her peers and she's not afraid to get down to business and put on a cool, professional air when the need calls for it. Despite being a fun-loving goof at heart, she is a consummate professional when she's doing a job or conducting any kind of business or agreement. Being a strong, mature and cool woman is very much a role for Saya, and she plays it with enthusiasm. There are times where she will make a point to try and look as cool and mature as possible, often with her husband's cheerful encouragement and approval. Don't try to imply that her skills with a whip are being used for anything other than "being able to brag about knowing how to use a whip", though. She can get very defensive and flustered when people make inappropriate jokes or implications around her. Saya is a trained actress, able to assume a role and convincingly act it out. As a result she's good at - for lack of a more positive term - lying through her teeth and feigning an emotional response. She's clever, able to think up a plan or story on the fly, and is generally at her best when she's improvising. Her training as an actress also means that she's good at gauging the emotions and behaviour of others, allowing her a level of empathy that others might not have. This empathy makes her a very good counsellor in a pinch. Like her husband, Saya is extremely well-read and versed in several forms of media and pop culture, and she shares his creative energy. She also has a fondness for number crunching on the fly, something most people wouldn't immediately assume about her. Most people wouldn't think that playing old school Dungeons and Dragons with your hardass father would make you a math whiz, but it certainly helped Saya along. Underneath it all, Saya is a hero waiting to happen. She has a very firm belief in right and wrong, and she's not afraid to step up for what she believes in and fight anyone who disagrees with her. She can't stand those that would seek to bully or belittle others, and she will be the first one to step in and defend anyone who would dare do so in her presence. Saya has a protective and motherly streak a mile wide, and she has no problem projecting herself as a nurturing guardian figure for those who need her. But most importantly of all, she loves her husband Toru more than anything else in the world. History: Being born and raised in the Electric Town of Akihabara, it was really only a matter of time before Saya was enamoured with otaku culture and the media it revolved around. Her parents were encouraging in their own way. Her educator mother used the material as extra learning tools, bringing up her reading comprehension by encouraging her to read things on her own. Her police officer father had a love for Dungeons and Dragons and the Japanese franchise it had unwittingly spawned: The Record of Lodoss War. Saya's father raised and nurtured her with a sense of honour, principle and justice, and it's probably these lessons that are to thank for Saya eventually meeting the love of her life. When Saya was seven, she came upon a group of her classmates bullying and tormenting a small, crying boy in a dress. Naturally, she couldn't let this stand. She proceeded to charge into the mob of unruly children with arms swinging. She came out of the affair with a black eye, a busted nose and a new best friend. While her parents were upset with her for starting a fight at school, they were also proud of her for standing up to protect somebody who couldn't protect themselves. Saya was invited to have dinner with the boy's family, and from then on she and Toru were fast friends. As they grew up, Saya and Toru became inseparable. Toru naturally felt a lot safer around Saya, and she felt something of an obligation to make sure the boy wasn't hurt. Her parents found Toru odd; they chalked up his love of dresses and skirts to being a phase at first. Saya didn't quite get the boy at first either, but she loved how enthusiastic and passionate he was about everything he did. Saya eventually started encouraging Toru's cross dressing, citing that he looked prettier than her and that she liked seeing him happy. She can't remember the last time she's seen him in boy's clothing since. Saya can't actually remember the exact date and moment that Toru confessed to her. She remembers that they had been spending the night at her house, and that they had just finished marathoning Gundam. Which Gundam, she can never recall. He had blurted out his love for her in a quiet moment, and immediately he had turned redder than a tomato and covered his mouth. She can remember her surprise and joy, she can remember kissing him and telling him that she felt the same way, and she can remember the shit-eating grin on her father's face as he took 500 yen from her mother when she told them that they were dating now. Saya will readily admit that she remembers all of those things only because Toru's proposal had happened the exact same way. Saya and Toru never got a proper honeymoon, much to the disapproval of their parents. Despite their insistence that the pair ought to go out into the world and enjoy themselves as newlyweds for a while, Saya and Toru knew that they didn't have the money for that yet. In her eyes, they needed to settle in and have a proper home and source of income before they went on any grand adventures. Despite her acting aspirations and training, Saya didn't feel like she could support herself on an acting career, let alone a family. She had known this for a long time, and it was the reason why she worked hard to get a teaching degree instead of pursuing an acting career. She was rather shocked by Toru joining her on this career path, and elated when they both manage to secure a teaching position at a humble high school in Nagashima. Nagashima was no Akihabara, not by a long shot. But it was an opportunity to settle down and start her life together with Toru, and that would be enough for her... For now, at least. Appearance: Saya is a handsome young woman who exudes mature grace and confidence. She's tall and slender, and her posture drives this home. Saya is in excellent shape thanks to a lifetime of living with very fit men; she has some definite muscle, particularly in her legs and core, although barring a day at the beach you won't be seeing any of that without going through Toru first. Saya has brown eyes and hair, and she prefers her relatively short and simple. Saya is always smiling, even if it's not by much. The exception, of course, is if she's genuinely upset or is playing a role where smiling is not an option. Saya prefers to dress casually most of the time. Unlike her husband, she hates wearing skirts and dresses, and strongly prefers to literally wear the pants in their relationship. She's most often seen in a casual shirt and jeans or dress pants, and she can often be seen committing the cardinal sin of wearing the same thing more than one day in a row. In the rare moments where she gets to play a role, she prefers to play female characters who dress in a wholesome manner and wear tomboyish or masculine outfits. She has a particularly soft spot for military attire, and she has more than a few fictional uniforms in her closet that she breaks out every now and then for the fun of it. Weapon: Saya has gone out of her way to thoroughly learn the ins and outs of using a whip, the result of a childhood goal driven and inspired by far, far too much Indiana Jones and Castlevania. Additionally, both her father and her husband have kept her in excellent physical condition due to their differing but thorough exercise regimens. Mask: Saya's mask is something of a contrast to her usual preference for browns, greys and blacks. The mask is bright and colourful, adorned with several wildflowers. The mask juts outwards like a narrow beak, although it lacks a bottom half. The 'beak' of the mask is a dark, polished brown that's evocative of fine, well-treated oak. Persona: Aztec goddess of beauty, dance, flowers, crafts and female sexual power (among many, many other things), Xochiquetzal appears as a beautiful young woman garbed in a dizzying variety of vibrant, colourful flowers. The flowers seem to be blooming from her very skin, covering the essentials above her waist before forming a long, flowing skirt of flowering vines ending just before her feet. The Persona wears a bright, green and red birdlike mask, with colourful blue and gold plumage flowing down with her dark, brown hair. A swarm of similarly masked hummingbirds flies around her, always zipping about and hovering in the air. ~Name: Xochiquetzal ~Arcana: Sun ~Drain: ~Weak: Darkness, Force ~Null: ~Reflect: ~Resist: Earth, Light ~Skills: Magna, Hama, Marin Karin Have you read all the stickies?
