"Ahh, I believe that I'm beginning to see you. Just a little." Reika spoke with a small smile, leaning forward in her seat. "But you don't like talking about your father, do you?"

She could tell. When she mentioned it earlier, Noriko's mood changed. Interesting.. Reika thought as she wrote down a few notes. "But I think it's admirable that you've decided to keep the family business going." Reika says, then taps her pen against her lips. "So here's a question. Did you ever dream of any other profession before wanting to be a blacksmith? I'm curious because sometimes kids dream of something other than such a profession."

"..Or.. Did you always want to be a blacksmith?" Reika asked after a pause. It would put the pieces of the puzzle together for her. So far, Noriko's been pretty standoffish, which she frankly didn't care about but she had a job to do.

Yes… I’d sell the souls of all humanity to the devil if I thought it’d get us a happy ending.
"Finally..." Noriko muttered. The fast they were to 'understanding' one another, the faster Noriko could jet out of here and get back to the shop. "We all gotta start somewhere, right? Let's just kickstart 'knowing me' and finish up this meeting, eh?" Seriously, did all of her meetings go like this? How the hell did someone like this get any business if she kept talking circles around her clients and everything. It's almost like-

Noriko flinched almost visibly when Reika brought up her dad again. C'mon! Lay it off already, lady! Is this a life coaching or an interrogation!? The brunette let out a long sigh as she avoided eye contact with the older woman for several seconds, eventually giving her an answer. "No, I really don't like talking about that particular thing, Kurenai-san. How perceptive of you to notice." There was the thought way deep in her head that Noriko could just up and leave. Just walk right out of the office, it wouldn't be that hard. But then that voice also brought up that it could possibly get back to the school and start a whole new set of problems and- Blegh

Tch, 'admirable'. There's nothing admirable about it. Just doing what needed to be done. "No. Being a blacksmith was what I was born to do, so that's why I do it. Same reason while I'm studying it in college. I want to do it, so I'm going to do it." Ever since she was a kid, watching her pop work. But that was... thoughts for another time. Time that wasn't going to be spent thinking on days long past with this woman in the room. Who had time for dreams? Noriko had something more important to do.

She had to keep a memory alive.

"You must really not like being here." Chuckled Reika as she raised an eyebrow. "But the more you struggle, the more times you'll be back here~"

"My job is to make sure your future is bright and you're on the right path for it." Reika spoke as she leaned back in her seat, giving a calm smile. "But you seem to reject standard practices in favor of holding onto the past. Am I wrong?"

Continuing, Reika added, "Your body language and attitude tells me that you've no other dreams or aspirations and are doggedly working towards holding up the family business whether you actually like it or not. That is not to say you don't enjoy it.. but do you really not have any other future aspirations?"

Holding up a hand, Reika continued to speak. "No, don't answer that. Not now anyway. Let's get on to a different subject. How are you doing about making friends? Pushing everyone away also isn't good for your future." She says, staring at Noriko calmly. Reika hoped she'd get the point that she was gonna get to the bottom of things whether Noriko liked it or not. One way or the other, she'd be a changed person by time their sessions are complete.

Hmph, 'you must not like being here'"You got that right..." Noriko muttered under her breath. "But I don't see why I have to come back here at all. Far as I know, the school shrink only set me up for this one time. I'm pretty okay with this being a one and done kinda deal, so long as this thing finally finishes up, I'm fine with it." What's this lady's deal? Just tell me some vaguely motivational crap and send me on my way like all the other ones, geez.

"My future's fine anyway, everything's going just great anyway." Yeah, except today. That goes without saying. "You can call it 'rejecting' practices or whatever, but the only thing that matters is that I'm fine with what I do, and I like what I like. If I wanted to grow up to be a lousy trash collector, then I'd do that." The student's foot slowly tapped against the floor as their conversation carried on and Noriko grew impatient. "Besides, the past is something that needs to be held onto in one sort of another anyway. How else are people going to learn anything?"

And yeah, they'd be doomed to repeat it or whatever that saying people liked to throw around was. But as Reika continued to talk about Noriko, the younger woman found herself gripping the sleeves of her sweater in annoyance. Who the hell does she think she is. Of course I freakin' like working at the metalworks. It's all I ever wanted to do. She had a inkling to respond, but Reika held her hand up. Which also just happened to anger Noriko slightly more. Why even ask a question if you don't want someone to answer it-Ah forget it Instead, she found it prettyhard not to laugh when the life coach asked about making friends.

"I'm not a kid. 'Making friends' isn't something that's all that important right now. People want to try and talk to me, by all means go ahead. But I've got just as much right to not want to talk to you too." Especially if they're boring she thought.

Chuckling lightly, Reika narrows her eyes for a moment before smiling sweetly. She had been holding her tongue somewhat, trying to be professional about it. But this girl was way too stubborn for her liking. Sure, she could attempt to break her open and reveal the raw mass of nerves that she's hiding under that thick skin, but that'd be unprofessional.

"Well, you might need to come back if I suggest it to your school, you see..." Reika finally spoke, having taken a few moments to gather her thoughts, as well as calm down as to keep herself normal. "But... I feel that I've gotten to understand how you think a little as well as why you act the way you do."

Exhaling softly, Reika smiles. "Now, I will still say you need friends to make it in the world. But... that's just my opinion, so you may reject it if you'd like." Reika says, flipping through the file for a short while. "One thing is certain, however. Despite your attitude, you do enjoy what you do. I can tell by the way you talk."

"Now, let's bring this session to a close, shall we?" Reika says, clapping her hands together once. "Do you happen to have a business card? I might want to support your business in the near future."

"Kaneshiro-san, you may very well end back here, but for now, you should be fine." Reika speaks, writing down a few things in the folder. "You may need to get a few things off your chest, but that may be beyond my scope of profession."

Noriko's eyebrows narrowed slightly. I should have freakin' known... It would have been too easy for me to just get this one meeting over with and every see her again, wouldn't it? Just how in the hell did she manage to piss off that school shrink enough for this to start? She barely even talked to the guy. The news that Reika seemed to understand her a bit better wasn't exactly a reassuring statement either. "Well then at least one of us got something out of this whole thing, huh?" Noriko only wished that it had been her.

"I could say the same about customers, but at least customers pay when they take up your time" Noriko replied. Of course, customers didn't have to worry about being all that personable to you either, which got annoying. Probably the best of both worlds would just be a friend that also did regular business with you. It'd only make sense. "Guess we did set the foundation of 'I like to do the things I like to do', at least. Of course, I told you all of that earlier, but I guess if we both understand that now, it's better off." If there was even going to be a second session (and Noriko hoped against hope that there wasn't) at least she wouldn't have to spend most of it saying things she already knew.

Or talking about her dad

Noriko let out a slight sigh of relief once the older woman concluded their meeting, and she quickly stood to her feet. Reika's inquiry about business cards was too easy to not pass up on though, and after a slight bit of hesitation, Noriko slid one of the many cards advertising her family's shop across the life coach's table. "Business is... always appreciated" she said through slightly clenched teeth. She just better not show up at my work and talk to Mom about this. I'll never hear the end of it. "But sure, whatever you say, Doc. I'll get stuff off my chest whenever I have the time." And with that, Noriko made her way towards the exit.
