Wait, what? Taisuke was halfway certain that he and Gwyn were by no means on the same page. He was just offering some advice on changing a person's look. From the way she said it, she thought he had offered to be some kind of wingman? That's not how it worked, it wasn't…how anything worked, really. But that seemed to be the kind of person Gwyn was. At least she offered him a chance to clear it up. "I'm new in town anyways, so it'd help me anyways. I don't mind being friends." How many times did people just decide to be friends on the spot like that, anyways? He'd never seen it happen outside of movies, or something… As for the help? "I know a few things about fashion and style, I could help you if you wanted to change up and if that would improve things." Ah, but the parfait? "Oh, I'm not a big parfait fan. Anything's fine, I suppose…" Most of the talk about Taiyoutono went over his pretty little head. Wasn't that school supposed to be more prestigious than Reitaku? What was with all this talk of bullying and backdoor dealings for the student council presidency of all things… |

Bullying was a commonplace thing in Taiyoutono? Lovely. Though frankly she could use that as a platform to spring herself up into being well known - she wasn't one to take shit from anyone despite having a bullying friendly image herself. Her combative self suddenly started to look forward to enrolling in the school, as she thrived in chaos. Her eyebrow raised ever so slightly at Gwyn's flushed face straight after Taisuke's question. She wasn't stupid: taking in the cues, she was able to accurately deduce what the embarrassment was about. She felt the need to suppress a groan over how silly it was for someone to fall so quickly for a pretty face. "No offense, but if by any reason I didn't really like you before you became Student Council Prez, I would like you even less if you won. Plus, if you're that unpopular as you claim, chances of you getting elected in what's essentially a popularity contest are pretty much negative 74%." She didn't sugarcoat it. Sometimes people just needed a dose of reality, much like the dose of sugar she was about to ingest. "Besides, who gives a crap about people liking you for your positions? There's no way those people are your real friends anyway. The moment you step down they'll walk away, it's much better to just have people like you for you. Who cares if it's twenty or if it's one, at least they'll have your back." Unfortunately, Asuka herself wasn't that successful in that endeavor since she moved. It was easy to rationalize, but having the fortitude of putting such plans into practice was something else entirely. "I mean, I just got here. I don't really have any friends. If I get 'em, woo, awesome, but if I don't, I always have these." She held up the video game and the book she had just purchased. "They won't judge me like an asshole." |

As the exchange between Gwyn and Taisuke took place, Yuu noted how Gwyn was suddenly stammering and pausing more than usual. This could only mean one thing, and if it were to be that, it could potentially segway Gwyn's attention to Taisuke and Taisuke only. Which wasn't exactly the best way to help someone if they are in the company of more people. "I'd have to agree with her, leading is a high responsability that is not to be taken lightly, and it generally doesn't create an instant popular fanbase. However, just losing the election doesn't mean that all is lost, even if it came with a lot of problems attached to it. You can still obtain friends through other, more honest, means." Yuu said, briefly pondering how to approach the romantic problem playing Gwyn. "... And if love were to also be a problem, just remember that there is still plenty of fish in the ocean. And even without companionship or position, you still won't be any less of a person if your heart is in the right place." The last bit of that may have sounded a bit sappy. She never really was the best as that kind of support. |

"T-That would be great, Taisuke-kun! AA-And don't worry... you can share mine, that way you don't feel obligated to eat it all!" Success! That was one new friend down, one to go! With Taisuke successfully befriended, the youngest of the group's attention turned to Asuka as she spoke her feelings on Gwyn's unsuccessful campaign. Gwyn stared at her for a moment, a blank look on her face, before she... well, started chuckling a bit. "You're right. I was wrong in doing it, logically and morally, but in my search for friends, I thought it was the only way to get over my own hesitations. I don't regret it, despite being wrong, because I met a wonderful group of people, who I can definitely call my friends," she replied, "They don't care that I won or lost, but accept me for who I am. I couldn't ask for anything better even if I tried. Though, if I may be so bold as Taisuke-kun was... I'd like to be your friend, too." Gwyn smiled at the girl, extending a gloved hand out to offer a handshake. Of course, that left Yuu, who was, well, being good old blunt Yuu. "... I, er, didn't exactly plan on taking it lightly. In fact, I'm prone to going all out on things needlessly, you all should've seen the Grand Imperial Theater during the school festival!" she boasted (just a bit though), a proud look on her face. "Ah, yes, I saw that when I was visiting my younger sister!" the waiter came back, causing Gwyn to sheepishly chuckle before giving her orders, the young man writing them down before heading off again. "A-Anyway, I-I know all about fish and oceans, y-you don't need to lecture me on it," she returned to Yuu's comments, shaking her head as she tried to cool down again. What? Just because she's young doesn't mean she can't enjoy an attractive appearance! |

"Well…I guess that'd be nice, sure!" He smiled. He still didn't like parfaits anymore than he did before. Just layer upon layer of sweet was too much for his palette, but that was an acceptable compromise. He at least had a bit to add to the conversation. "Well, it's important to be popular for the right reason. If people just like you for some superficial or inconsequential reason, it won't be satisfying at all." He was speaking from experience. He'd been both 'in' and 'out' of the crowd, and he wasn't sure he enjoyed either position very much. "I think Yuu-san means there's other people you can pursue and have a good time with other than this one fellow. It's a metaphor! Or a simile…ah, grammar's not my strongest subject." Yeah, that sounded about right, didn't it? It's what he always thought that saying meant. "Um…grand imperial theater?" There was certainly a lot going on at that other school, wasn't there? |

Asuka couldn't help but inwardly groan at all the love trouble and advice. She believed it was the most pathetic thing one could be 'hopeless' for - if someone couldn't be happy by themselves, what was the point of trying to make someone else happy? She herself couldn't even get along with her family, let alone try to get someone to like her in such a way. The girl's priorities were switched, but frankly Asuka didn't care enough to voice that. "Wait, what?" It seemed that the girl whose name Asuka had forgotten by then wanted to be her friend. Was she aware that was not how things worked? Then again, to be fair, she was looking for someone to take a shine to her as well. She had to start somewhere, even if she had a somewhat biased view that was not at all in Gwyn's favor. She stared at the outstretched hand for a few moments. "...Ah, screw it..." Asuka muttered while reaching for it with her own, for a handshake. "If anything it'll serve to get you out of trouble I guess." She knew just how ironic that statement was, but one thing was herself, and another was someone else. Oh, lovely double standards. |

Of course, when Gwyn suggested for her and Taisuke to share the meal together, she couldn't help but smile just a little bit more. She had to admit, seeing the bold Gwyn Branson act in such a manner was actually a bit hilarious, given how her pauses and stuttering made her seem unsure of herself. "I do not doubt your willingness to commitment, Branson-san. I merely suggest that energy is better spent in precisive quantities instead of going completely all out." She said, holding one finger in a matter-of-fact way. "I do regret not seeing you in perfoming something theater wise, can't imagine it being any less than bombastic." The last comment had a wink added, as a slight poke-fun at Gwyn. And then, the orders arrived, as the parfaits were handed. Yuu held her strawberry parfait before continuing. "And you were correct Munakata-san, it was a metaphor. I'm sure you'll find the right person elsewhere, right?" Yuu said, doing a small giggle while looking from Taisuke to Gwyn, eating a bit of the parfait. |

"Yes, the Grand Imperial Theater was the name Papa proposed for the stage production we did for the Tea Ceremony Club during the school festival. I've still got some flyers for it, even! My co-star Hashimoto Rin was excellent... hopefully you'll get to meet him sometime, he's a rather interesting young man, if I do say so myself," Gwyn explained, letting the metaphor talk slip past her for a moment, her eyebrow twitching as she wondered just how... naive they thought she was. Whatever, that wouldn't come up again, right? Luckily, Asuka finally took her hand, giving a good handshake, and Gwyn grinned at her. "We'll see who keeps whom out of trouble. Allow my to introduce myself, once again; I am Gwyndolin Atalanta Branson, a pleasure to meet you!" she stated, finally letting the girl's hand go as their order was delivered. Now with her melon parfait between her and Taisuke, she refocused on Yuu, who brought up that damn talk again. "Yes, yes, I know what a metaphor is. But the ocean is full of fish, and any good fisher knows that the search is for that one, perfect catch, the one you can brag about to others," she added, poking at Yuu's direction with her spoon before digging in. "... Ah, I love the cup design here. Look, see what happens when you take a bite? It all moves around! No two spoonfuls are the same!" she explained, watching the sweet treat move around in the glass as she extracted a bite for herself. "... Also, if you want to see the plays, you need only ask. I have videos of it all. Baba was rather adamant that the performances be recorded," she added, looking a little proud at that. Then, a thought crossed her mind. She was trying to act tough lately, for her new style! Crap, she totally forgot about it! But... well, whatever, they'd adapt to her new style better if she just played it normal for now. Or as "normal" as she gets. |

"Oh? I guess…" Too much dairy wasn't really good for the complexion, was it? He still didn't like too sweet things, after all. He had a bit of trouble sharing Gwyn's enthusiasm for the dish. Even if he probably had more in common with girls than his peers when it came to making a fuss about his appearance and demeanor, it didn't include a preference for things like parfaits. He took a spoonful full to his lips just the same. At least the melon was good and sour and cut though the cloying sweetness. He wasn't sure if Gwyn got what he was trying to say or not as she took the analogy to be about fishermen in general. At least the subject of this club festival thing was something good to cling to instead of pondering it. "That sounds like fun! I don't think my school really would do something so elaborate though." From what he heard, compared to Taiyou, his new school would be far more low-key. Though no school's club budget could handle what Gwyn seemed to be talking about? Did her grandmother pay for that out of pocket? |

"Asuka Harada." She finally introduced herself in response to Gwyn. She then leaned back on her seat, toying with the parfait she ordered. She wasn't that hungry at all, but she sure as hell would find enough room in her stomach for that thing to fit in. Having no further input in the conversation, she opened the book she just bought with her free hand, effectively tuning out of the conversation now that it didn't involve her anymore. |
