Trent's gaze became fixated on Suzu once more when she snapped at him. "...what the fuck?"

It had suddenly dawned on him that perhaps being disliked by people was a sort of hot button for her, and that might explain the sudden explosion, but... "...you were being annoying for no reason so I chose to be annoying for no reason too. I... really can't see why you're making a big deal out of it. If I got over it, anyone can." He looked around. "Just... 'kay, now I get that you just agreed to this so you could humiliate me later on. Fine."

A few feet away, the waitress had stopped dead on her tracks as Suzu snapped, not knowing what to do, but then continued moving when Trent looked at her. She'd brought their orders and set them down on the table in front of the people they belonged to - a somewhat oversized fruit salad-slash-dessert and a petite, cute cup of sweetened black coffee for Trent, and a small plate with some cute white sweets for Suzu.

"Anything else, Master?"

"No, we're... we're good, thanks." With that, the waitress was gone, but the tension in the air remained.

"...that's a serious false equivalence you're proposing there, since having 2 people find out you like not-very-cheesy romance movies is much less bad than potentially having an entire internet community find out you went to a maid cafe - because if you're going to give me the same treatment you gave that guy whose video you posted last night then that's what's gonna happen - but okay." He took his fork and pierced a slice of strawberry with it, taking it to his mouth and chewing it. He hated it. "You want to humiliate me? Okay. It's not like I actually have any dignity anyways... what else do you want me to do?"

Strangely enough, his words didn't carry any hate with them. In fact, his tone had no emotion at all - it was like he didn't care anymore.

"Ya started it!" Suzu was incredulous. "I only ever got in yer face 'cause ya didn't let it go. What were ya expectin', for me t'just stand there 'n take it?"

Point taken.

"Entire internet community... Ya think I'm gonna post the damn pic on Bedlam? Let's see, how many times have I done anythin' 'o the sort--oh, right, one in like a year now."

It was upsetting enough for her to get up from her seat, ready to leave, "I was just doin' it for a laugh and then I'd leave ya off the hook, but congrats, this is not fuckin' worth t'trouble."

"...so what now, are you just going to leave?" Still no emotion from the boy. "I begged you to let us talk this over, you agreed to do it just so you could humiliate me in some way, and now you're not gonna follow through with it?"

He took a sip of his coffee. Trent really didn't feel like dealing with whatever issues Suzu had because he already had his own, but he knew that making enemies wasn't among his interests either.

"Look, just... please sit down so we can talk this over. If you just leave now then neither of us is going to gain anything from this." It was getting frustrating at that point. He knew he'd exploded without reason the other day, but this somehow felt different, like there was an actual sort of motivation behind it.

They were starting to draw the attention of other customers, but chances were that Suzu didn't care about that.

"...Okay, let's be real here." Suzu sat back down. A good sign, but if she was gonna keep up with the conversation, it'd be odd to do it standing up the whole time. "How t'hell is this humiliation? T'only person who knows ya here is me and 'n no one else really knows 'bout this. If anythin', I'm in just as much 'trouble' as ya for this crap."

She took a deep breath. Her hand tightly gripped her knee under the table, hidden from view, as she willed herself to calm down minimally. Baby steps.

"I already said what I had t'say. Say yer peace, or else it's gettin' pretty obvious this shit's not goin' anywhere."

"...I don't know? You were the one that referred to it as 'humiliation' when you said that you hoped I'd like to be on the other end of the foot today not too long ago." Was her rage so severe that she was starting to forget what she'd said a few moments ago? It was something that had happened to Trent before, so he could relate to it. What he couldn't relate to was Suzu's motivation and the apparent ire she bore towards him.

A few seconds passed while Suzu tried to calm down. "...well, what else can I say? I was an idiot, and that much is clear by now. Like I said, after a while I realized you were actually pretty cool and we got off on the wrong foot and all that stuff... and I don't have anything against you anymore." Silence. Idly, Trent moved around some things in his dish with his fork. "I just want to put this behind us so we can actually maybe be friends and... and I legitimately don't know what else to say."

"Yeah, when it comes t'me? Because I'm pushin' ya around, just like ya did t'me back then." That sounded pretty obvious to her, but her irritation was indeed causing quite a short circuit in the redhead's brain. Mostly because she didn't get to impale some poor sap with her weapon of choice at that moment.

"..."
She let out a sigh, once again sinking into the seat. God damn her softhearted self. If it only affected her, fine, she'd walk away no problem, but it seemed like Trent was making a genuine attempt at fixing things. And for as mad as she was, that didn't excuse being a complete ass from then on.

Finally.

"...Fine, you win..."

It seemed to be that whatever it was that Trent had done, it'd worked. Absolutely nothing was going through his mind because, once he had the revelation that Suzu had only agreed to come just so she could mock him in some way, he had no hopes for the situation to improve.

And it did.

"...ok, good..." ...but what now? He was drawing a complete blank. A few seconds passed before he finally came up with something, terrible as it was. "...so, uh, you may have noticed this already, but I'm pretty awful at the whole 'making friends' thing."

This was headed nowhere productive. "I... think that getting to know people's part of that, so just... answer me this:" With that, he pointed at his dish with his fork. "Do you actually enjoy this amount of colors and sugar and shit in your food or did you just order this to mess with me?" It was clear that he didn't really want to eat what he had on his plate.

"No shit." Suzu commented blandly, crossing her arms as Trent continued. She wasn't exactly an ace at it per se; however, ever since she got to Nagashima, she found herself to be quite popular in comparison to every other moment in her lifetime.

Nagashima was a weird place.

"I was gonna eat it after ya apologized." She responded truthfully. "Just wanted t'make ya work for it a little."

"...I have no idea why stuff's been different here in Nagashima, though. Like, people actually come up to me? And speak to me? And I legit have no idea why?" Trent cracked his knuckles as he spoke. "Let's just be honest here - it's not like I have a sort of charm that draws people, and yet here I've been approached by complete strangers and... and even had a guy that..." As he thought about Hiro, he blushed slightly and looked off to the side. Quickly, he took a sip of his coffee to avoid having Suzu notice it, followed by a deep breath. "Uh, forget that."

Trent's expression shifted from one of attention to one of pure disbelief as Suzu explained she was going to eat the thing. "Oh my God." In one swift movement, he pushed the dish - fork included - towards the redhead and then took another sip of his coffee... before setting that down too. "Why is everything here so sweet...?"

"Well, Naoya conducted an experiment one time that said odds in Nagashima are skewed up or some shit." Suzu decided to tell him. "The study's on Bedlam I think. He did it with some coin flip thing, heads t'tails ratio was waaaaay off the damn charts. I used t'be a loner too 'n I have a boyfriend now, how messed up is that?"

With your personality? Very.

She decided to start eating her own order, which was much smaller in comparison to Trent's sweet. "Uh, well... This place is supposed t'give ya diabetes 'n all from how cutesy shit is. I'unno, guess sugar, candy 'n cute shit are meant t'give people boners now."

She shrugged. "Maybe put salt in it." She said with a completely straight face.

Ouch.
