He still didn't understand how exactly it was that he'd ended up there.

After discovering that a person he had sort-of-but-not-quite idolized online was, in fact, a person he felt far less than comfortable with in real life, Trent Proctor had felt compelled to take action. He could either let himself become embittered whenever he read about said person's actions online, or choose to make up with her to be able to enjoy her Bedlam antics guilt-free.

Of course, he chose the latter, because Trent has no dignity nor priorities.

To accentuate his dignity problems, said person had specifically stated they should meet up at the maid cafe of all places to discuss the matters at hand. He wasn't going to back down, since he'd sworn to himself that he'd actually go through with it.

Dressed in his habitual combo of a black hoodie, dark jeans and boots, he sat at a table with his head in his hands, a devastated expression on his face as he awaited for his death to arrive. Figuratively, of course. Or maybe not, who knows what Suzu has in store for him.

"Excuse me, what do you want to order?" One of the waitresses - dressed like a maid because why not - approached him.

"Uh... no, I'm fine, just... please go away..." Without raising his head, the pale young man spoke.

"...alright?" The waitress walked away, a dumbfounded expression on her face as she signaled her coworkers to stay away from that weirdo on the table.

This is gonna be fun, isn't it...

Suzu was going to have a very, very good day.

Aleph bashing, Bedlam smashing, and with an upcoming Trent meltdown, she liked her chances first thing in the morning. At 9 AM sharp, like she promised, she was at the same Maid Cafe she had been in just the day before. Perhaps she should actually become a regular?

...The fact you thought of that in a non-joking manner actually creeps me out.

She immediately spotted the sulking Trent who was actively avoiding being noticed. Kinda difficult, she thought, with a hoodie indoors and when you looked like you were about to take out a knife and rob the place. But hey, who was she to judge?

...Don't you kinda always do?

In a stealthy manner, doing her best to be every bit as 'unnoticed', Suzu strolled her way to be near Trent. She then crouched just a bit beside them, and leaned just enough so she could whisper into his ear.

"Boo."

He was caught off-guard by the redhead as she approached him and then whispered into his ear. "Ngh..." He still remembered that voice.

The ordeal had truly begun.

The pale young man let out a small groan as he finally lifted up his face and leaned back on his chair. Once he opened his eyes, his vision was assaulted with the image of a red-haired girl, shorter than him, and with her own grey eyes looking at him. He was familiar with that image, but he wasn't expecting to see it again so soon.

And yet it was me that forced this encounter to happen... He rubbed his face one last time before fully confronting his fate. "...uh, hi."

He'd have to try harder than that.

A devilish smirk covered Suzu's lips as soon as he groaned from the mock scare, eyes glinting with mischievousness.

Oh, she was gonna have a field day with this.

The redhead sat down in front of him proudly, and since she noticed the boy actively didn't want to be noticed at all in that establishment, she signaled an employee to come take their order.

"So, t'what do I owe t'company 'o yer excellency?" She mocked, the sadistic expression never once leaving her face. Sweet, sweet revenge.

Even though they had previously noticed that the person sitting at that specific table didn't want to be served and, in fact, might just wish to be left alone, somehow, a person sitting at that exact same table had called the attention of one of the waitresses. This set off some red flags in her mind, but it wasn't in her to outright ask what was wrong or do something about it.

"Are you ready to order now, master?"

Her words ringed hollow in Trent's ears. He was sure that he hadn't cringed harder in his entire life before that point...

"...I'm..." He was at a loss for words. "...black coffee. The tallest, biggest cup you have, please." Perhaps he could kill himself through a caffeine overdose before the situation became worse?

"Understood, master." The maid then turned to Suzu. "How about you, madam?"

Trent waited until Suzu placed her order and the waitress left before talking again. "...you're enjoying this a lot, aren't you...?" Hesitation would do him no good, but he seriously didn't want to continue the conversation. He leaned forward once more. "...so, I was kind of a dick the other day, right...?"

And so it begins.

As the waitress asked her what she wanted, she pointed towards the anmitsu display by the counter. "My friend here wants one 'o those too. Sweet things're lovely first thing in t'mornin'." She said with the most innocent smile she could muster. "I'll take some karukan, please."

As soon as she left, Suzu leaned back on her seat. "A bit?" Her gaze goaded him to go on and further humiliate himself. Oh yes. She was really enjoying this.

It seemed to be that Suzu was having none of Trent's anti-vanilla tastes and ordered a rather large sweet for him, while ordering a much smaller one for herself. It was not up to the maid to question anything, however, though this did earn Suzu a strange look from her for a split second. "Understood, your orders will be ready in a minute~!"

With that, she left, a giddy spring to her step. "...what the fuck?" Trent then turned towards his red-haired companion. "What the..."

It then hit him that the reason why Suzu was enjoying the situation so much was because she was improptu going to use it to have revenge on him. Instantly he felt like leaving the place, but he'd brought it on himself so he might as well play along...

"...uh, yeah." The pale young man rubbed the back of his neck with his right hand as he spoke. He was deliberately trying to avoid eye contact with Suzu... "So, I, uh, wanted to apologize for that because... yeah."

This clearly would not be enough, would it?

"Because...? You'll have t'be way, way more elaborate than that, friend." Hah, friend. As if they'd ever be friends. Suzu'd just probably milk the situation to such an extent that Trent would want to live in another multiverse.

"Oh, by t'way, remember that smile I wanted? Ya'd better smile when ya take a selfie with that cute waitress over there. With my phone."
That was it. That was the day Trent would perish.

And she loved it.

Y'know, you should try the whole 'turn the other cheek' thing instead of trying to outshine him as an asshole. Just sayin'.

'Don't be a party pooper.'

The pale young man let out a sigh as Suzu pushed him to speak further. "Sigh... okay, look, the thing is that I pretty much hated you after that day in the video store, but then I saw the posts of a certain user Shurahime in Bedlam and after finding out that it was you I realized that maybe you were cool after all and we got off on the wrong fo..."

He stopped speaking and merely regarded the red-haired girl with a dumbfounded, vacant gaze when she explained what she wanted him to do. "...I'm sorry?"

Why am I here? Instantly, he regret implying that she was actually a pretty cool person. She's clearly just doing this to make me suffer. Why do I even try. If Suzu went too far there was a chance that Trent would merely leave the store afterwards, but for now he was going to stand it. As much as he tried to convince himself that it was going to be fun, he was hating every thought crossing his mind at that moment.

"What right do ya have t'hate me over that?" Suzu snapped suddenly, as soon as Trent cut himself off. Sure, he meant absolutely nothing to her in the grand scope of things and vice versa; but it affected her greatest insecurity. What did she do to be disliked right off the bat? If she recalled correctly - more often than not she did - he started it.

Why did she deserve that scorn?

"T'was just a god damn movie, how was it any 'o yer business what I watch?" She openly admitted it was for her, but that didn't matter anymore. "Ya get a kick outta humiliating people? That's it? Hope ya likin' t'be on the other end 'o the foot today."

Breathe...
