Take a deep breath Alan! You fucking GOT this! Alan ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it slightly as he made his way down the cold street. He truly had no idea what he was trying here. At the back of his mind, he felt like he wouldn't leave this place alive. The boss had been a mysterious and harsh sounding man. To come back and beg for a job...He felt as though he'd be stabbed the moment he walked in. Honestly he was half a block away and he already felt like he was being watched. I still think he's a mob boss or something "He pays well at least." He had to get out of his current job. It was a fucking nightmare to say the least. Long hours, underpaid and assholes everywhere. If he stayed there much longer, he would lose his mind in no time. His pace slowed as the place came into sight. Who would've thought such an unassuming karaoke bar could be so very intimidating. He took a few breaths. In and out, in and out. "I am...probably going to die." Agreed. After steeling himself, Alan opened the doors to the bar, preparing himself for his possible death. |

Today was a day just like any other, as far as Hanako was concerned. She showed up to work, greeted her coworkers and went out back to change into her uniform. That was the usual plan at least. But plans had a way of changing, and the biggest influence on that was who stepped into the bar literally moments after she did. "Eh? Alan? Is that you?" She probably resembled a startled deer more than anything, frozen mid-stride, eyes wide and focused on what had disturbed her ambivalent mood before. It wasn't as though she didn't know he was back in town, but he wasn't working there anymore. As a matter of fact the last she heard, the manager was pretty annoyed with him for ditching as he did. |

Suzu had acquired the nasty habit of looking up from her piano whenever the door of the karaoke restaurant swung open, in hopes of it being Seiji who walked in, only to be disappointed every single time. That one time was no exception, but it was at least somewhat interesting for a change. "Oh look. It's t'traitor." She commented to no one in particular while her fingers played with the piano's keys without her really looking. Her gray eyes watched Hanako's reaction, which earned a raised eyebrow. Traitor? That's a bit harsh. 'He ain't workin' here anymore, so whatevs.' |

"Eh? Alan? Is that you?" Alan jumped slightly as a voice brought him out of his own thoughts. He turned to face none other than Hanako. Of course! She had gotten a job here shortly after him...It had completely slipped his mind. Knowing that...honestly would've made this much easier. He did his best to put on a convincing smile and NOT look absolutely horrified as he greeted her. "Hey uh...Fancy meeting you here." He shifted his weight slightly and bit his lip without realizing. "Didn't realize you still worked here." He fell silent for one moment, his eye scanning the place. For a moment he thought he saw a waitress suddenly slink into the shadows and disappear completely. They tend to do that naturally but...she was looking directly at him. If things get crazy just summon me! I'm sure even deadly ninjas would get a little scared of a ghost! "So how has...This place been?" As he spoke, he gestured to the rest of the bar. "At least, since I left." |

Something that got her right out of her initial shock was sudden appearance was probably the words of Suzu. She frowned and gave the redhead a chiding look. "That's a bit much, isn't it?" She was jumping to a conclusion without even knowing why Alan left mysteriously. For all they knew, he could have had some sort of emergency or other good reason to drop everything abruptly. 'Not like either you or her plan to spend the rest of your lives working there, so what's with her attitude?' She returned to Alan with a sweet and welcoming smile. He did ask her a question after all and there was no reason not to have a little small talk. "Oh yeah! You know me! I don't give up easily!" She puffed out her chest proudly. She wasn't much in many ways, but she was doggedly persistent when the need arrived. "But what brings you back around here, Alan?" The manager seemed pissed that he left with no notice, that vein on his forehead just kept throbbing… |

Hanako's comment went right past her, as she had quite the right to be upset over it after all. Soon, her small performance came to an end. Suzu now had the right to a small break before her head was torn off because the patrons demanded constant entertainment, and she had to work for two people ever since Alan quit. 'Ugh.' Her throat felt sore many days from over-singing because of him... "Hey, hey, pirate boy!" She called from the other side of the room, bringing in unwanted attention most likely. "I ain't lettin' ya steal t'spotlight from me again unless ya do some sort 'o highly humiliatin' pirate number. Problem?" Well, at least she could get some fun out of his return. |

"Well that's good to hear." Alan smiled and nodded his head. If he DID manage to get his job back, having a friend here would help things immensely. "Me? Well I-" His explanation was swiftly cut out by Suzu. Aint NOTHIN' humiliatin about a pirate number! Aight Alan I want you to tell her that It'd be a STEP UP from the crap she just played. I don't need anymore enemies Whisp. I will get my revenge. "No problem here!" Puss. Finally he turned back to Hanako, the current situation doing wonders to distract from the eyes he could swear were watching him. "Well. I was sort of hoping to beg for my job back. So uh, how's the boss doing? Is he in today?" |

Hanako rolled her eyes as Suzu completely disregarded her for the chance to be self-righteous. There didn't seem to be much point in continuing that line of conversation, so she just smiled to Alan. "Oh, yes, he's in. I think he's been kind of short lately too so um…good luck with that! Actually? I'm going to continue my rounds so I don't incur his wrath. We'll talk later, okay?" Either he'd get his job back, or he wouldn't. She hoped for the best but it was out of her hands. So off she went, back to the daily grind! |

"Ah, fuck it..." The redhead rose from her seat by the piano. No point in remaining by her workstation during a break proper. She walked over to the returning coworker, seemingly not hostile for a change. "Oi, don't think about waltzing into the boss' office on your own, he'll rip yer head off." That very much was true, and she felt like she needed to warn him. "Either ask someone t'take ya in, or go do a number or two t'impress him. No one's on the stage 'n all, I'll take responsibility." Might as well take one for the team. |

"Ah, oh yeah..Right." Alan frowned slightly as Hanako went off to work once more. He'd kind of hoped she'd put in a good word for him. Or at least remove any nearby weapons from the boss. Agh, maybe this was for the best. Suddenly, something rather unexpected happened. "Suzu-san I...I mean are you sure?" His eyes widened slightly at the generous offer. "Thank you. Really." It was true that he appreciated the act. He was nervous enough, maybe getting the chance to show his skills again would help. She is forgiven. I love her again. Good to know. Slowly he walked up to the stage. His heart was beating a million miles an hour. He had a few songs he wanted to sing, but they were all slow and melodic. He had a feeling if he wanted a job back he'd have to amp it up. He sat down and stared at the crowd for a moment. He had an idea. Good thing this was a karaoke bar that allowed any kind of music. He took a breath Oh but I know you'll cause me grief. -- He didn't even have time to look at the crowd afterwards before he was suddenly tugged off the stage. "Follow me please." She said. It didn't really seem like a request. After about a half an hour past before one of the workers popped her head out. "Hanako-chan? Suzu-chan? Could you come to the office please?" Inside they would see a very pale looking Alan sitting in front of a burly older man. It was an almost cliche'd scene. The room bathed in moonlight, smoke thick in the air and a heavy pressure saturating the room. Dude I bet they think you're gonna die. I sure do! |
