Ugly Crying

"Ooh! Thank you!~" Atsuko cheered as she received the copy. It looked so cool, and a great read! She would cherish forever and brag to people that she owned a manga from one of the most famous mangaka in the world: Akeno Yamamoto! "Oh, dad!~" Atsuko called. "Our lovely patrons are waiting!~" Edited by kempan98, Jan 7 2016, 07:21 PM.

"Hehe, you got yourself a unique print Atsuko-san, better use it to enhance your own technique!" Hideki said, as he made a small giggle. All the help she can get on her path towards creative excellence would be good! "Anyhow, do you have any dish to recommend?" He said, in reality he was probably going to orser something light, but who knew, maybe she had something delicious in mind. Maybe something spicy! |

As the conversation slowly drifted away from her, Akeno couldn't help but be secretly glad - she was, at last, free to fully enjoy her free meal. And enjoy it she did, immediately attacking the food before finding herself distracted with anything else. Of course, she paid attention to the conversation at hand, but feeling like there was no input she could possibly provide, she just focused on the bowl that was quickly becoming empty. |

Do not say tempura, Atsuko. 'But dad makes good tempura!' Atsuko protested internally. Your opinion is biased! Atsuko simply smiled at Hideki. "My dad makes really good tempura!" She said sweetly. She could feel Hestia disapprove of her suggestion. "But if that's not something you like, I suggest having the donburi, yakitori, or the yakisoba." |

Quite a few options to ponder, if Atsuko recommeded the tempura specifically, maybe it'd be as delicious as she says? But again, he wants something light. "It's tempting, but I think I"ll go with the yakitori." He replied. "So, how long did your family work here?" He asked, as he looked to break thenice a bit, now that the manga business was dealt with. |

"Dad, some yakitori please!" Atsuko called out to her father. The man gave her a thumbs up and went into the kitchen. Hideki was in for a treat. The yakitori was simply delicious. She smiled at the boy. "My grandparents on my father's side owned the place. Dad took it over after he married my mom. They had my two older brothers, and of course, me!" Atsuko chuckled. Then she smiled sadly. "Yeah, my dad's parents have been dead for years now. Grandfather died of a heart attack, and grandmother died from a stroke. I wish they could see the restaurant now. I bet they would be proud of my dad." She said softly. |

"Oh my..." He began saying, before Atsuko's tone became slightly lower and, sadder apparently. "Well... I'm sure they would be, the place seems to have good business, that's the best you can hope for a restaurant." Hideki said, hoping it wouldn't make Atsuko so sad. "But, will either of your brothers take over the restaurant in the future? Or you will?" He asked, the last question making him chuckle. Maybe she could draw a prettier menu if she was in charge. |

The food rapidly found its way deep into Akeno's stomach, hunger grumblings quickly subsiding under the powerful effect of the delicious, mouth watering dish. She couldn't help but lean back for several seconds once done with the fine meal, feeling quite full with the (free!) incredible food. She didn't think she had much space left in her to accommodate a dessert, so she decided that'd be that. "Alright... I'm good." The chair moved back as she got up from her seat after wiping her lips with a paper napkin. "Thanks for treating me, I'll make sure to do the same to you some other time, promise!" And Yamamotos always fulfilled their promises! She gave her a determined nod before gathering her things, so to leave. [OOC: Most likely exittag] |

"It's... Complicated." Atsuko explained. "While my parents would love for one of us to take over the business, my parents would rather have us follow our dreams. And they're perfectly fine with us not taking over. " She chuckled softly. Atsuko had thought of taking over, but she had decided she would pursue an art career. And if it failed, she could open a restaurant... Maybe. Atsuko waved at Akeno as she left. "Bye, Akeno! I hope to see you soon!~" She cheered. She was happy to have met such a wonderful person. She turned her attention back to Hideki. "Well, she's gone now." She said. "Anyways, what else do you want to talk about?" |

"Oh my, then at least that's something good, not having your parents pressure you into whatever future they want." He said, as he heard that Akeno was taking her leave. "Oh? Ah, see ya Akeno-san!" He waved goodbye at her. Honestly, after seeing her for the second time this day, he wondered if there would be a third later on. Perhaps in the Ruins? No, that would be too silly. "As I was saying, good thing they allow you to do whatever you want for your future. It's funny, given how my mom is a white collar, I'm actually surprised she wants me to pursue a career in filmography." He said, rubbing the back of his head. |
