"Yeah, Wild Duck's great, I always get a number 5, no onions, extra tomatoes." Now that she thought about it, it really was always, there's even distant memories of a tiny little Hanakoling narrowly avoiding pitching a fit because there was an onion in her deluxe duckburger with cheese.

She frowned and shrugged. "Maybe I'll try something new today, though?" She was more musing to herself than asking for advice, but she was definitely okay with Wild Duck.

As for Seiji? She didn't make it a habit of asking too closely about his romantic life. This was in no small part because that would suggest the reciprocal would be normal and she still balked at the very notion of that. But still, for all of that…

"I'm a bit curious too. How is he like when it's just the two of you?"

Suzu changed their route to Wild Duck Burger... which wasn't much of a change as it was located in the food court, with every other food chain restaurant. She got on the escalator, but didn't climb the steps, letting it take her all the way to the top on its own.

"Whatever's on sale." She responded to Daichi, not wanting her wallet to suffer too much. Sure, she juggled two jobs and an allowance, but that didn't mean she was filthy rich. She still had her games and manga to buy, damn it.

And there it went, the long interrogation from them both regarding Seiji. Good thing she was actually ahead of them in the escalator, her facial expression could be pained without them being worried about it.

What a pain in the ass.

"...He did, why?" Maybe because he took pity. "He's... normal? How t'fuck should I know? I don't know how he's with y'all t'tell the difference."

Honey, the annoyance is showing.

'Too fuckin' bad.'

Bit of a foul mouth on Suzu, wasn't there? He'd dealt with worse things though. "So...no, i'm going to assume he's not a smartass like he is around us then." Daichi stretched his arms upward and let loose a yawn. "I guess i'll just have to eat whatever Takaki-san here orders for me no matter what." Or she could do something like pour hot sauce onto the food. Not that he'd have much issue with that but prior immediate experience pointed toward the idea that she was the kind of girl who enjoyed messing with people in such a fashion. "Oh I was just curious. Was there a song and dance? A note in your locker?" He laughed to himself and wrapped his arm around to scratch at his lower back. It felt fantastic to be back in his own clothing.

"It's sort of insane how you have such fun working like that Hanako. I mean, it's no maid cafe but it's close to it. Just one-hundred percent less serving food." It was probably the costume appeal? Daichi'd never really understood all the fun of dressing up in capes and tights and running around like a crazy person. Sanctioned worker, vigilante, or otherwise. "Maybe get the number 5 with extra onions and no tomatoes. Hey, Takaki-san? Who else do you know that goes to Taiyoutono?" It was probably the more subtle way to ask who ran around with a persona. "Aside from Kyo Charinko and Machi Kijimuta anyway, everybody knows who those two are."

"Oh, he's way less formal around me. He talks about baseball a lot and I'm just lost and he just powers on though it! I didn't even know he likes it, but…I think his dad almost went pro, so there's that." Most people didn't know that, but most people wouldn't sit and smile and nod and try and figure out his opinions on the local team's star shortstop's batting style until he got to the comparisons.

She moved on casually. "Oh! One day, he did ask me what I thought would be a good gift for you. We talked about that for a whole day and the verdict was that I have no idea what you'd like. I just told him to surprise you with something and spend more time with you so…there's that~!"

What luck! When they got to the Wild Duck, there was no line, less waiting for fast food~! "Get me a number four, extra tomatoes? Anyways, Daichi, it's just fun to be able to put your own problems aside for a while and cut loose hamming it up! That's why I like it, anyways!"

Suzu just let the Seiji topic die without response, feeling all too uncomfortable to continue it. Perhaps silence would get her point across, since they didn't really get her snapping hint.

Or maybe it's on purpose.

"One more of what she's havin'." She said as they arrived at Wild Duck, not actually bothering to look at the price. She took out her wallet while waiting for their orders to be cooked.

To Daichi's non-Seiji question, she shrugged. "Uh... I know everyone in my class and everyone in my clubs? I guess." What a weird question. "Why?"

"Well I was wondering if you knew Mia Sato. She's my cousin, you know? Wanted to make sure she was getting along well with people." Sort of gave away his intent to gauge whether or not Suzu liked her and if he had to send her through a table because it was always just good to know these kinds of things. "Graduation's coming up sooner rather than later. I want to be certain of who I need to scare into submission before then. I'm sure you understand." It wasn't the nicest way to go about making sure Mia got left alone. In a matter of fact sort of way it was probably one of the more damaging ways to do it.

"Well, I guess that's where you and I split off Hanako. It wouldn't do well to be caught in some sort of compromising position in such clothes. Besides, as you know 'fun' is not a word whose meaning I can grasp. I'm a bit like watching paint dry in that way. If the paint was big enough to break people like toothpicks." If he was joking at all? Daichi's tone and face only became slightly more pleasant as any indicator of a possible give-away. "So Takaki-san, aside from harassing your fellow youth with that mirthful smile of yours. What else do you like to get up to? Clubs you're in, any part-time jobs?"

"Uh-huh…if you wanna get to know someone better, it's maybe a good idea not to make it sound like an interrogation?" She asked as the cups were handed out for them to get their fountain drinks. "It's better to share a bit about yourself too. This is how organic conversations go."

Oooh! They have that cola she likes. "For example? Do either of you know I lived in America for a bit? It's um…not really fun if you can't speak English though, I mostly just stayed home and went to an international school." She got suspended for threatening to bite one of the children who's dad is hoping to be Prime Minister!

"Mia? Yeah, I know her, she's cool." Suzu responded. They were friends. Not very close, of course, but still buddies. They had been through a couple adventures of various kinds together, after all.

"I don't think she has many enemies anyway? Always came across as t'type t'have friends everywhere." She responded truthfully with a shrug.

Hanako was right, it was feeling very much like an interrogation, but at least the conversation had deviated from Seiji. She relaxed a bit and decided to give a proper reply. "Uh... I'm in band, n' track n' field. I also work for Naoya, 'n am workin' at a karaoke restaurant with Hanako here." She motioned her head to the respective girl as she spoke.

She then listened to Hanako attentively but didn't comment. She had always been curious about the United States and could speak English very well, but never had the opportunity to even leave the country before. She couldn't help but feel a bit envious.

Daichi put his hands up defensively. "Sorry, sorry, force of habit. Have to get the tone down for when I actually get around to being an officer of the law." It settled any sort of initial doubts about Suzu anyway. "Something about myself? Well I hit people with sticks, cook and then I drink tea with one of the people I hit with a stick. That's only in school, too. So be on the lookout." He grinned, trying to shake off his sourpuss mood. "Oh, i'm sure getting to hear people's wonderful singing is just a constant treat to the ears for both of you. Especially with that band ear of yours, Takaki-san." Daichi inhaled at the smell of their burgers arrival, grin widening exponentially as he marched over to fill his cup with water as he chomped into it. "Mmf, dis--" He swallowed and coughed. "Good stuff right there."

"Where in America? With your complexion I can't imagine it was any of the hotter states like California." From the way he heard it California at least was worth visiting? "Well...I've only ever lived two places myself. Are you a Nagashima native, Takaki-san? Feels like I meet more people that move here than have actually grown up in the area." Daichi sipped at his water, pausing in his tracks. "You know? I've still never played any video games, ever. No real interest in them I suppose. Might be one of those things you have to grow up with."

"That's right! She does more than me! I just serve drinks and food and stuff! She actually performs."

The question of where she was? Well, that brought back a few memories. None of them nearly as fond as when she visited the United States with Isoroku and the others though. "Actually yeah, it was California. San Fransico." That was…her father was working for some start up firm, and Mao was working with a food franchise company hoping to break into the Japanese market.

"It's easy to stay pasty when you stay in all day, really. I honestly can't say I liked it much."
As their food was being served she mused. "It was somewhat north of where we visited over winter break. Big difference in geography and atmosphere, though."
