He really shouldn't be contemplating reaching out and seeing how hard or far he could punt this girl away should he? Did all of this qualify as harassment? Not that it was really going to matter when the job was over. The tiny and rude child would know better than to try and keep provoking someone after the costume came off and the clock was punched, preferably with his fist. "Speedwagon's a stalwart friend of mine, Higashikata-san. My father was...sick, so I went to Ogre Street to try and find a man from the orient who had been selling the thing used to make him as such. Before I could find him Speedwagon and a few of his cohorts attacked me. I defended myself and eventually Speedwagon declared that nobody else should attack me. After which he swore to help me on my journey." Clearly the girl was just trying to mock a man about his own untimely demise. Which was pretty fucked up if you thought about it, fictional character or not. Ignoring whatever didn't make sense for Jonathan to know about seemed like the best course of action to go through. "Tell you what, my neck's started feeling awfully itchy as of late...it's probably nothing." For effect he started scratching at the base of his neck around his throat. That was where it'd happen right? Might as well give this girl something to be humored by. |

As the talk was happening the, lanky man in thick glasses walked up to the two and clapped. "Alright then! That's all for today! Thanks again for your hard work Ito-chan, and you did good too Nakamura-san, right? Good job, both of you! I've got your pay for today and let me know when you're available again!" He handed them both envelopes with modest stacks of bills. They wouldn't get rich playing pretend, but it was a good freelance kind of job for teenagers. With the envelope in hand, Hanako took a breath and down came the hood and off came the wig. She was free to be herself again. "Okay Ohara-san, call on me any time!" Ah, not a moment too soon, Suzu seemed like she was having a lot of fun at Daichi's expense. But at least they got though it without the fourth wall being broken or anything like that. "Suzu-chan, I think we should go get changed but after that wanna hang out for a bit?" She wasn't sure if Daichi would enjoy that but if he was game for it she would make sure they had a good time. As they were talking with one another, the manager took it as his cue to exit. |

Before Suzu could throw in a nasty joke about Jonathan having the wrong head, it seemed that Hanako's and Daichi's job cosplaying as JoJo characters was over, and they got paid. Wait... it was a job!? That very rapidly changed the redhead's tune. "W-Wait, what? Y'guys legit get paid for this?" She asked in disbelief. "I... I want in. Don't care if they make me get int'a bunny suit 'n make me hop all around town, this is basically free money. How did ya..." Hanako's invitation went unfortunately ignored given Suzu's overwhelming curiosity in dressing up for money. |

Right! Niceness, all smiles and cheer. Waving and nodding as their boss walked away after supplying the compensation for having to deal with such loyal, passionate passerby customers. Apparently Suzu was ignorant enough to not know that advertising was a lucrative business! The suspicion that she had somehow stolen an actual Taiyoutono student's uniform and continually bluffed her way into the building throughout the school year. If looks could kill, where she stood now might have turned into a smoking crater. Then again Daichi wasn't really one for murder of someone if all they'd done was been particularly aggravating. "Oh, yes. You'll have to talk to people like you if you join up! Or I could bring Fujiwara-san around, both sound like fun right?" There wouldn't be any turning the cheek from him. Well, aside from the literal one that occurred when he looked at Hanako like she was a clinically insane person. What reason on this planet would he have for wanting to spend his time with someone who had just gotten finished with her obnoxious plaguing of him. "I think i'm just going to go get changed and try to unwind at home, you know? Can't ever know when Aunt Megumi'll need help getting around or reaching something." |

"Okay Daichi! I'll see you later! You did pretty good for your first day!" She'd not really met or spoken to Daichi's newfound family since his birthday. Mia seemed pretty pleasant, and his great aunt was a sweet lady but perhaps it was a good idea to make some time to get to know them later? "Yeah, it's something that's done here. I think that some local businesses have been drumming up attention to new products by hiring out local students to cosplay for at least a year or something?" She just chose to stay out of the teasing and counter-teasing. "It's a job, like any other. It has it's upsides and downsides. You want me to tell you more about it after I get changed?" The fact that she was looking forward to wearing anything other than the costume seemed to have fallen totally on the wayside in favor of the fact that they were actually getting paid for this. She kind of gave it another nudge that way. |

Suzu's eyebrow twitched ever so slightly, as Daichi's response had been that of a dick. But then again... You totally deserved that one. 'Yep.' "...Okay, okay, fine, sorry. Geez." It wasn't common for the redhead to apologize for anything at all. "Lemme make up for it, okay? I'll grab somethin' off the food court for ya before ya go. S'only fair." She nodded to Hanako, being curious. Now that she thought about it, maybe she could drag Seiji into doing it too. HAH, I'd pay to see that! "Wanna hang at the arcade? I got some coins t'spend." |

Megumi really did need his help at home. This was more a general worry about an old woman with a bad hip at home as opposed to him having been scheduled to take care of her now! Daichi knit his brow in thought for a few moments, wondering if it were really alright. "...Alright but I can't stay around for too long." Maybe he'd been a bit too surly with Suzu. Not that he was going to all of a sudden start regretting it but now that free food was on the table? Civility seemed the new order of the day. "Just make it some quick snack, nothing big." There was a small ball of worry in his stomach that he did his best to ignore. It would only be a few minutes more, nothing could happen in that short a span of time. "I'm going to go get changed, be out as soon as I can make sure i'm not just going to rip out of this thing." --- "Like I said, just pick something at random. Don't really care what as long as you aren't like, trying to spend a fortune to apologize." Now that he'd gotten out of those work clothes? The outfit Daichi wore was a hell of a lot less exposing. In fact, aside from his hands, face and neck everything was covered. A white long-sleeved shirt underneath an olive jacket, cargo pants along with boots gave him an unintentional faux military look. He sniffed around a bit, admiring the various selections that the food court had to offer. "How've your studies been going, Takaki-san? You're...the same year as Fujiwara-san, yes?" |

"Well, if you think I'd be any good, I'd be happy to come and help, Daichi!" She was nothing if not cheerful. Perhaps it was the money! Perhaps it was that she was hanging out with friends! Both~! It was definitely both! "I should get changed too, just a little bit!" Since Daichi wanted to get back to his new home without too much of a delay, and it was rude to Suzu to make her wait long, she didn't waste much time. 'Why bother? She certainly never cared if she was rude to anyone. It's kind of a waste of time to go out of your way to be considerate to someone like that.' --- But rather than get into a long argument with Medusa over the finer details, Hanako just got changed quickly. Tennis shoes, smoky tights and a knee length green dress with an aqua jacket and her trademark earrings is what she was wearing for just street clothes that day. "Okay, thanks for waiting!" She said as she returned and caught Daichi's attempt at small talk. "Mmmhmm, not only are they in the same class, they're dating!" |

The wait was the least she could do after being so bothersome, so Suzu didn't really mind it at all. What she did mind, however, was the conversation that followed; specifically, how Hanako referred to her relationship with Seiji. She had always hoped things were a bit more serious than just dating, but it seemed that's not what Seiji let on. Not that you're worth that much, hon. "Yeah. They've been goin' well, not like I got much more t'do anyway." She raised her bandaged hand to illustrate her point - there was not much else she could do in the first place, other than study proper. "Where do ya guys wanna go? Wild Duck Burger?" She quickly changed topic, feeling quite uncomfortable with her Shadow yapping in what should be a relaxed outing. |

Daichi chuckled to himself, deciding that his absolutely irate demeanor might need to be peddled back a bit. Not that the reality of free food soon entering his stomach didn't help with that. "Wild Duck sounds like a place where greasy, gross fast food gets served. So right now I think it seems delicious." Suzu's hand was messed up was it? The obvious solution was to do what anyone else would with their own access to magic healing that could help the world over and just fix it that way! Except of course anyone else would think of that so was it that for whatever reason, it wouldn't work? "I've never really been there before. Do either of you have anything that you'd recommend?" He could surmise easily enough what had happened to get the hand all bandaged up like that and decided that questioning would only stir up negative emotion. "Well, if you aren't too busy Hanako. The extra hand would always help." Where would that leave Suzu? Daichi didn't feel like abandoning the girl to loneliness. "So...you and Fujiwara-san then? Who asked out who? Is he less of a wisecracking, morose forty year old when it's just the two of you? Or is that part of what charmed you?" He even managed to crack a smile! Today was just full of wonders. And money, too, wonders and money. |
