This single post is a direct continuation to Show Me the Booty!. --- Both car rides were incredibly slow - such opinion was shared by all occupants. Alan had driven Machi and Suzu back to Ruwashi Park, as requested. They had just come back from a rather mentally exhausting Ruins trip, one everyone wished had never occurred. No one said anything while on the road, each left to their own devices. Suzu Takaki was conflicted. The act was absolutely despicable. Cheating was something she could never forgive - if Seiji ever pulled something of the sort, she'd probably gut him and his mistress. Undine was thoughtful enough to remind her they weren't exactly together officially, but the redheaded girl ignored the protest, her hatred being well cemented. Though on the other hand, Machi was her best friend, and it was unlike her to do something like that. Sure, she heard of the blonde's loose ways before getting into relationships; but she also knew she was a master of self control, composure, and elegance. There was nothing elegant about that situation. "..." There was also the fact that being abandoned was Machi's worst weakness. She confided that to Suzu during a truth of dare game online gone too far. For a change, she didn't actually reveal the whole thing to anyone at all, keeping to herself about the subject. If such was true, Suzu could guess Machi's mind was near damn broken at that point. Despite unstated, it was very clear Shou had walked away for good. If Suzu did the same, would there be much of a recovery? Taking pity on someone... It was rather pathetic of her, but she couldn't help it. Though, mixed with such feeling, there was one of worry. Machi had always been there for her impartially, acting in her best interest - whether Suzu liked the particular action, or not. Perhaps it was time to repay the favor... '...Ngh, this is too difficult!' At last, while the problem raged on within the singer's mind, Alan had parked up the vehicle. Before she knew it, Yuki had switched in to the driver's seat, presumably to take them home. The boy looked back, and he himself became pale at Machi's state - lifeless, white as a ghost, staring out blankly out the window. He could not make out a single thing from her empty expression. "What... What happ--" "Shut up and drive." Suzu was quick to interrupt, sitting right next to Machi's husband-to-be. There was no time to waste. They needed to get Machi home, and then finally she'd have some time and patience to think about what she'd do. "What? I doubt Kijimuta-san will let you into the b--" "I said drive, you fucking moron." The redhead seemed awfully patient, thought Yuki with a small frown for a change; the poor atmosphere emanating from both women was getting to him. Resigning to his fate, the boy drove off the park. He had been around to skate with Daichi as usual anyway, but emergencies were emergencies. Plus, he would not let his life partner down, no matter what. --- The Kijimuta estate was way out of town. They had crossed the bridge over to the next city, which was much bigger and metropolitan. The crimson truck crossed the streets leading towards a very rich neighborhood, where houses were few far in between. Yuki parked the vehicle within the vast garage of the manor, and noticed something about the security. It was just far too lax. The three individuals got out of the car, and the alarm was soon activated. With a slow pace, they exited the garage building, heading to the main entrance. Before either member of the couple could open the door themselves, it was opened. Apparently, the chief housemaid, Aya, was right there to greet them with a huge smile on her face... Which didn't last that long. "Welcome hom--wait, Ma-chan! What happened?" The woman seemed genuinely concerned as to what plagued the heiress. However, Yuki quickly shook his head. "Forgive me, Aya-san, but we're in a bit of a rush here. Do you mind if we retire for today? I don't mean to impose my will on Kijimuta-san, but--" "Oh, don't worry about that." The elder shook her head. "Kijimuta-sama is out in... business." There was a faint hesitation in her tone, which neither of the teenagers seemed to notice, given their state of mind. "He will be out for the following month, though he has requested for us to guide you in the final engagement arrangements." The woman then peeked past Yuki's shoulder. An unknown shorter redhead was standing there, looking rather impatient. "Oh, and you can bring your friend in! I'll be more than happy to make some extra dinner for you. Kijimuta-sama doesn't have to know~" It seemed Aya was attempting to be cheerful so to lift up everyone's moods, but to no avail; the oppressive atmosphere was even eating away at the small smile she had forced previously. Soon enough, she got out of the way, and the trio took off their shoes and walked inside. Yuki made sure to lead everyone right back to Machi's room. It was rude for him to walk into a girl's quarters, certainly; but it was unwise to discuss what he assumed was a particular matter out to the four winds of that house... The staff could be rather chatty. "Holy shit, this room's the size of my house." Suzu not so tastefully commented as they walked in to the target location, and closed the door behind her. It was vast, and well furnished; but, at the same time, it gave off a lifeless feeling, as if the person being there was forced. Then again, that was extremely accurate. Machi didn't say a word, just walking towards her King-sized bed. She got up to the mattress, sitting by the pillow, and crossing her legs in an Indian-style, her back being fully upright. Her crimson eyes closed and she placed her hands atop her bare ankles, taking a deep breath, and preparing herself for the incoming interrogation. It wouldn't be pretty. Suzu had made her way to the wide corner desk, sitting on its very pricey chair, spinning it around so to face the others. Yuki just stood by the door awkwardly, his hands clenching a little. He needed to help, the absolute need was gnawing at his sanity. And so, he was the one to speak up first. "...What happened? Why is Machi-chan like this?" It was the obvious question to ask. How could he help if he didn't know what the hell was going on in the first place? Alan had seemed quite off in the brief meeting. What could possibly affect so many people at once? "Bubuzuke here thought it was a great idea t'juggle men." Suzu blurted out instantly, not wanting to beat around the bush. "Shou found out. Things aren't pretty as ya can imagine." Yuki's eyes widened slightly with the response. Machi cheated on Shou? Of course, that certainly didn't prepare him for the following outburst on Machi's part, as well as consequent argument. His eyes would gradually widen as it went on. "Well, my apologies if I'm not picture perfect all the time." Machi opened her eyes at last, staring straight at Suzu, venom dripping through her words. There was no control there, her shattered mind doing wonders. All was lost, there was no point in holding back minimally. "Oh, not s'pposed to be picture fucking perfect? Well excuse me if that's exactly how you fuckin' try to come across to everyone, you fucking hypocrite." Suzu snapped back, as the time bomb that was her temper set off. The side of her fist smacked right against the wooden desk. "Maybe if ya didn't overcompensate all the damn time, people wouldn't expect that 'o ya!" "What choice do I have?!" The grip on her own ankles tightened, and Machi's stare turned fierce. "And what do you know?! You never fought for a damn thing in your life. I have a good portion of Japan's economy in my shoulders. There are standards I have to meet whether I like it or not." "Do those fuckin' standards imply you to step all over everyone's feelings like no one's business?!" Both girl's voices were getting louder as the verbal battle escalated, and Yuki seemed somewhat intimidated - he could swear there were sparks flying off their gazes as they stared each other down. "How'dya think pirate boy even feels in the middle 'o all of this?!" "Both of you, STOP THIS!" Yuki finally snapped, looking quite mad at the pair. It was not productive at all. They were arguing more and more, and nothing got done. That had been the second time he actually snapped in Nagashima, and the second time Suzu saw it happen. Neither seemed to be much affected for a change though, at least outwardly. "We're here to talk this out! Insulting one another will get you nowhere..." "..." "..." Well, he had a point. "Fine!" Suzu groaned, and rubbed her forehead. Machi's gaze lost most of its intensity, but she wasn't out of the woods just yet - knowing the redhead, she'd drill in until she knew every bit and piece of the story. "Why would ya tell him ya love him then? You were screwing around with Shou at the time, if my memory serves. Wasn't here." "After my accident, due to private reasons, Alan-kun went behind my back and slashed Shou-kun's chest open. Despite it being on instinct, he didn't die out of pure loss due to pure luck. A dear friend of mine was there at the time, and we got him treated." Neither of them had seen that coming, to say the least. Suzu was taken aback. She never pictured Alan as the murderer type. "Then, just as Alan-kun nearly crushed my spirits, I decided to crush his by declaring my feelings, having recently attained the information that he reciprocated them in full." "..." Suzu couldn't exactly blame her on that one. If someone did anything to Seiji - at all - she would probably go for the kill without even thinking about it. "...Doesn't really explain why ya cheated on him though, if ya weren't into actually getting together with him." "I lost control." She spoke evenly once again. At least her voice wasn't shaking anymore; instead, it was distinctively lacking emotion, in comparison to her usual cheerful, and at times flirtatious, tone. "I decided to forgive Alan-kun's actions at a point, given it had been a mere impulse he did not have actual control of. We got too close physically, and kissed, for... Roughly four seconds? I was quick to regain composure." That was exactly what Suzu could not forgive. A loss of control, for as little as it was. Who are you to speak of control, little girl? You're impulsiveness incarnated. Hyperactive, too. Her mind was a pure war zone. Either course of action would make her a huge hypocrite, and it wasn't a situation she could exactly ignore. Which would cause the least harm in the end? Leaving an already broken friend, or trying to patch things up despite the unforgivable act? "...Why didn't ya go to pirate boy instead? Kinda feels as if y'were toyin' with Shou's feelings." "I wasn't." Machi answered all too quickly, the reply to such a question being quite ready in her tongue. The blonde was wondering what took it so long, in fact. "When I realized my feelings for Alan-kun, I was already in the relationship. I deeply care Shou-kun, and didn't want to see him hurt, for one. Secondly, I never thought I had a chance." "That doesn't mean you sh--" "--Don't interrupt me. Thirdly, I had feelings at the time already for Shou-kun, even if smaller in comparison. And finally, with the incident, I made my choice of which I wanted to be with the most. I never lied to my then boyfriend about what I felt about him." "...What a clusterfuck..." Suzu muttered, and such was a spot-on description. That was the worst love triangle situation she ever heard of, and only served to mix up her mind even further. "Could I please be left to my own devices? The day has been quite stressing, I would appreciate at least a few minutes to rest right now. Plus, soon enough, I have to test out my wedding kimono again." "But Machi-ch--" "C'mon, door mat." Suzu got up from her chair rather suddenly, quickly walking towards Yuki and grabbing his wrist forcefully, not sparing a glance at Machi in the meantime. He seemed highly confused as to the nickname. Soon, both were out the door. "Where's yer room?" "E-Eh? Wait!" He had a hard time keeping up, the grip having surprised him quite a bit. He seemed incapable of escaping. "Down the hall, down the hall!" Soon enough, they reached the room, surprisingly similar to Machi's; however, it had a bit more personality, with a few Gundam figurines spread out here and there. Otherwise, it was just pretty much a copy. 'Eh, rich people...' Getting an outside view other than her own would certainly help, Suzu thought. She stepped to the middle of the room, before turning and glancing at Yuki, who was standing by the closed door once again. Door mat was increasingly appropriate. "We got quite t'situation on our hands." She deadpanned, though almost immediately after, she seemed annoyed. "I assume her dad will screw the shit outta yer lives if he sees her acting like that." "...I'm scared of that, yes." Yuki nodded, admitting it, and leaning back against the door, crossing his arms. Matsuba had yelled at them for much less. "We have to fix this right away, or else..." "...We?" Suzu let out a condescending laugh in response. "That's cute. This is your problem, I'm not getting dragged into this bullshit. Not my fault she doesn't know what a god damn monogamous relationship is." "She is your friend." Yuki glanced fiercely at Suzu. She was not helping, at all. "Sure, she did something she shouldn't have. Though everyone makes mistakes. I dare you to name one person who doesn't." "..." He had a point again. Was Machi teaching him how to debate? "...Okay fine, make yer case and I'll think about it. Whaddya think of this whole thing?" "I don't agree with her need of revenge initially, though I understand it. I wouldn't be too happy if someone nearly killed someone I hold dear." He wouldn't do much about it, probably. In fact he'd try to help the person out, so to pave their way to redemption. "...She ended up forgiving him." That was certainly helping. If he remembered correctly, his fiancé had mentioned Alan's feelings being reciprocated in full. Surely having his mind shattered wouldn't be that easy to swallow, and he'd be in pain. Forgiveness would help with that. "Even though it went a little too far, she only intended to make up for it, right?" "She fucking kissed the guy, how's that for forgiveness..." "It was a honest mistake, even the most balanced of individuals loses control at least once." He had seen Machi lose control before - namely, when Hanako had ended up in the hospital. It hadn't been a pretty sight, and, if anything, it proved that Machi's self control mastery was anything but perfect. "Though, I think she should have mentioned it to her boyfriend. Trust is the very foundation of any relationship, after all." "He'd leave her." "Huh?" In Suzu's mind, with the argument sent her way, everything started to click. Machi had a fear of abandonment, and coupled with a poor self esteem when it came to self worth, that could be absolutely catastrophic. The irrational fear would set in, and she'd just act like nothing happened. It made perfect sense. And he ended up leaving her, surely enough. '...Oh god...' "What do you mean, he'd leave her? Wouldn't that just build trust? If he left her over a simple mistake she admitted, wouldn't he be undeserving of it?" "...Abandonment issues. Those are a bitch." Having dealt with such an issue before, Yuki's eyes widened slightly. "She was afraid he'd leaver her." "...And he did." Unspoken understanding between the two filled the room, and they just stared at each other for a while. The problem was just one of those huge knots no one could get rid of. How would they solve it at all? "...I'm gonna go talk to Shou-kun." "You what?!" Suzu glared at the boy. "Are you fucking out of your damn mind? He'll fuckin' tear your head off!" "If that's the risk I have to take, then so be it." He seemed determined. There was a slim chance doing so could help. "We have her side of the story, even though I disagree with most of her actions. He doesn't, does he?" "...Not really..." "Then that should be enough to go on." It was his specialty - helping. He lived for it. Not only his fiancé needed help at that point, but so did Alan and Shou. Solving that situation would bring peace to them all, even if one's feelings would get ultimately hurt in the end. Plus, he would be helping himself. If anything went wrong with the engagement as a consequence of that mess, his family could suffer at the hands of his future father-in-law. He would not stand for it. "Machi-chan's former address was public, right? If rumors are correct, they lived together. I should be able to find it s--" "I'm going with." "Really?" Yuki seemed rather surprised at Suzu's change of heart. The girl had been vocally against minimally helping before, and had a full blown argument with Machi not five minutes before. Just what was going through her mind. "Yeah. Plus, I know the address. I'm stayin' out of the discussion though." Though, mainly... There was something that irked her about the whole thing - the engagement herself. She could bet her very life Shou had something to do with it himself... She needed to hear his thoughts on it. That was as good of an opportunity as any, and she wouldn't have to be under that roof for another second. Plus, she wondered how fat that little bird had gotten. |
