Sio Murakami had been restless these last few days. She had submitted her latest work some other day, but her editor didn't give any feedback since then. She wasn't sure whether she had dropped her rank in her editor's priority list or the editor was simply a busy person who had to deal with a lot of other stuff. But because she didn't get any sort of response after submitting her work, she couldn't help but to speculate a bit.

"Well... there's no point mulling over it..." Sio thought to herself. While she didn't talk much, internally, she was pretty normal. That emotionless, stoic persona was nothing but a false image that she had cultivated in order to create a situation where she could put herself in the position of a mere observer without disrupting the flow of event around her. She liked seeing everything around her like a story and she would rather not involve herself into that story as another character and instead considered herself as a reader. That false image occasionally broke once in a while, but because of that, she seemed pretty unapproachable and pretty distant.

She was about to walk down the stairway as she was internally monologuing to herself. She had been working hard to create another short story for a local magazine, so she thought that she earned a rest after pulling an all-nighter for the last few nights. The young author sighed as she continued to walk down the stairs, not paying any attention to anyone that might be near her.

"So... what to do now...?" having another internal monologue, Sio continued to walk down the stairs.

Ahhh... Where was it again? I thought it was on the last floor...

Eun was in a slight panic as she frantically tried to regain control over the objects almost spilling out of her hands while walking. She had been told to deliver a folder to a teacher in the second year area, but wasn't sure where the room was. As she was trying to search her bag for the map of the school she had made for herself, though, her rush caused everything to come pouring out at once. Luckily she had caught it all, but she couldn't afford to stop and set it all right; she still needed to get home and cram down the rest of that Modern Literature she kept putting off. Just as she was able to finish setting things straight, she rounded the corner to the stairs.

Okay, so according to my map, I need to go up these and- Ah! she suddenly cried out, her shoulder bumping into something, her bag regurgitating its contents once more. Never mind that, though; the thing she ran into was a she. Oh no, I'm so sorry! Are you alright? she asked frantically.

And suddenly, Sio bumped into someone who was carrying something. "Ah!" she cried out after bumping into that person, a female student she wasn't familiar with. Perhaps she was a third-year student. After getting back to her senses, she noticed that the things the girl carried were spilled on the stairway, and she immediately went to pick the fallen objects.

"Am alright," Sio responded to the girl as she bent down to pick up the fallen things that the other girl carried and dropped earlier, thanks to their collision just a while ago. As she picked up the things, she glanced at the girl, who seemed to have black, long hair and pretty face. "Sorry. Didn't see you. I was careless..." Sio spoke in her usual fragmented sentences, apologizing to the girl for bumping into her. She still kept that poker face of her as she spoke, though.

And so, Sio continued to pick up the things. She thought that it was her fault that the other girl dropped her things, and it would be the best for her to help her out.

No, no, it's my fault, I'm really sorry... Eun insisted, joining the girl in picking up the spilled contents of the bag. Unfortunately it was quite a lot, as she had packed up just about everything she had that day. This led to the entire length of the staircase being blocked, which did not sit well with other students.

"Hey, move your asses!" a random student said, stepping on one of the textbooks as he walked past. Another threw a light kick towards both of the girls, which Eun took in the leg. I'm sorry... I'm really sorry... she repeated over and over like a broken record. After about thirty seconds, though, the two had managed to gather everything up. Eun immediately jumped to her feet.

I'm really sorry, are you absolutely sure you're alright? Do you need anything? Miss... Eun bowed, apologized once more, and offered her hand before realizing she had no idea who this girl was. She wasn't a third year, that was for sure. She looks really frail though... Oh god, I hope she's not one of those 'break a bone from a light tap' people.

With a random student giving a light kick that Sio took on her thigh, Sio grunted a bit and was annoyed by how rude that random student was. Well, considering that both of them were blocking the path, it's kind of understandable that other students would get angry at them. Still, she wished that at least they could be a little nicer about this.

After both of them were done picking the stuff that were spilled earlier, Sio got back on her feet, looking at the other girl before she walked down the stairs and went aside so that she wouldn't stand in the path of other students. She looked at the other girl so that she could do the same as well. "I am alright," Sio answered to the girl's name. While Sio was never a physically-fit person, there's no way she could be someone who could break a bone from a light tap. That was just ridiculous.

"Sio Murakami," Sio introduced herself as she looked at the other girl's offered hand before she took it, giving the other girl a handshake. "Second-year..." she added, telling the other girl her year. "How about you?" she asked. Considering that the other girl might not be a second-year student, she was probably her senior and in that case, Sio needed to address her accordingly.

When the girl moved down from the stairs and out of the way, Eun realized she was still blocking the path and quickly moved down to join her. Ah, um, I'm Eun-mi Choi. Third year. Nice to meet you, she responded in kind, still overly worried that the girl might be upset.

But what can I even do? I mean, it's not like I know any good places I could get her something to apologize. Ugh, I hate dealing with this stuff... But I really don't want her to think bad of me... Well, there is one thing.

If you'd like, I can get you a drink from the vending machine. As an apology for running into you, and a thanks for helping me pick these up, Eun offered. She had a fair bit of change on her, and it was something she could take care of quickly. Plus this might be a good chance for me to learn about some second years... I mostly know thirds, and only a few first... And with the way she looks, if she tries to pull something I should be able to take care of it... Yeah, this should be fine.

So, the girl was a senior, after all. And her name sounded Korean. Well, it's not like she knew it just by seeing her, considering that both Korean and Japanese people were almost the same in appearance. She bowed to Eun. "Nice meeting you too, Eun-senpai," she said, addressing Eun accordingly because she was a third-year, thus a senior.

When Eun offered to buy Sio a drink, Sio was about to refuse it, but then she thought that refusing it might seem a little rude. She smiled a bit and nodded. "You don't have to, but if you insist..." she said. Her sentence was longer than usual, but she still kept the same flat tone as she spoke. And it might be her chance to learn more about third years.

And she was also curious about Eun, considering that her name sounded Korean. It's not everyday someone could talk to a Korean, right?

Eun smiled and nodded when Sio accepted her offer, leading the way towards the nearest vending machine. She might not know where all the classrooms were, but she damn well knew where to get her fix. When they arrived, she immediately bought herself a can of coffee before putting in money for a second drink and stepping back as to let Sio choose hers.

So, Sio-san, what kind of people are there in your class? Eun asked, going straight for what she wanted to know. She also skipped right ahead for the first name basis, seeing as this girl had no problems doing the same. After popping open her can, she took a massive swig of the dark liquid, almost like a dehydrated man in a desert that had just found an oasis. Mm, good stuff... she muttered to herself after downing the entire can.

Sio decided to have orange juice instead of having a can of coffee like Eun. She took out the can, popping it open and took a sip of the juice. The taste of the juice seemed to stimulate her taste buds and mind alike. She looked at Eun when she asked her about her classmates. Sio thought about it for a moment before she answered her question.

"Just normal kind of people that you can find anywhere," Sio answered, taking another sip of her juice. "A few weirdos here and there, though," she added. Somehow, she felt like she belonged to that group of weirdos, but it's not like she particularly cared about that.

"How about you, Eun-senpai?"
she asked the senior, returning the question back to her.

Hmm, not much out of her about that. Guess I'll have to find out who those weirdos are some other way and focus on this one for now... Hmm... I doubt she'll go blabbing from the looks of things, so I guess I can talk a good bit... And it's been FOREVER since I've been able to do that, I gotta let off some steam sometimes!

Eun threw her can away and checked the area around them for people; the few who passed by paid them no mind. When she returned, she made a point of showing that she was thinking by bringing her index finger up to her chin; a gesture that completely contradicted her reserved nature up to now.

Hmm... Well, I think we have a bigger number of weirdos. About half and half? she said, giggling a bit. Some of them just stay to themselves, but oh my god there's people who do the craziest shit," she said, going off into a few stories of some antics that may or may not have happened. She couldn't really remember too well.

Oh, but enough about that, so what kind of stuff do you like? Favorite foods, colors, subjects, hobbies, y'know, that kind of stuff? she asked, suddenly switching gears.
