In an otherwise quiet if unusually tense study hall... A door slid open. "Oh, thought this was where student council rep--ah, Gouriki-san!" Yuuki didn't know which was worse, that Taiyoutono's own staff got the rooms wrong for where most of student council was (Kumori Yatsu and the Nakagawa twins for instance being in 2-2, not 2-5) or that just because this one had sat in on a few Debate Club meetings that Yuuki could be drafted to do their work and the homeroom teacher allowed. Which led to the hasty explanation of Yuuki being paired with some fresh faced transfer prospect and being asked to show him around. As if Yuuki had developed his own school spirit during his time here. "Yuuki Gouriki, Class 2-5 as you see," he said as the two were being left alone. Finally, at least a first year actually shorter than me. |

Things had moved remarkably quickly, to say the least. First, Rinji had stepped off of the train (only his third in his life, at that) to a station bustling with more people then there were in his village. Thankfully, there had been a kind soul of a taxi driver with his name on a cardboard sheet. He'd made the resolution to thank his parents after he arrived at the apartment building, but almost immediately after dropping off his meager belongings he'd had to hurry to the school. After the taxi driver had dropped him off, Rinji had once again been shuffled between at least three offices, shaking hands and bowing to at least twenty people, and by the time he was walking down a hallway he was completely and utterly confused. Now, he was standing in front of someone around his age that he had never met before, and they were going to show him around. ...Well. Might as well start talking. "Uh, um, my name is Rinji Akamori! I'm very sorry to interrupt your studies, and I promise not to take up too much of your time! Thank you for your help today!" In hindsight, Rinji wondered if bowing as deep as he had was too much for someone technically one year his elder. Better safe then sorry, though. And the floor was very well polished! |

As Akamori made his bow Yuuki couldn't help but roll his eyes while the boy gazing at the floor. So annoyingly eager. Yuuki had never been or even acted this eager any time he had transferred schools. Course, being dumped in Nagashima's Taiyoutono of all places probably meant that wouldn't last long. For the time being Yuuki would entertain himself. "So where are you from?" he asked, noting Akamori's clothes, as the next time he'd see him he'd have gotten a Taiyoutono uniform. |

Rising from his keen observation of the study hall floor, Rinji instantly became a touch self-conscious. He discovered a new tiny hole at the knee of his jeans, and brushed some nonexistent dirt from his worn, well-used shirt. He didn't look poor, just like someone who didn't much care for being fashionable. When asked of his home, he snapped back to attention, spine going rigid. But before he could give the spiel he'd practiced saying to each and every faculty member he had met, he realized who he was speaking too again, and visibly relaxed. "I'm from the mountains. Specifically, Mesetame Village, the, um, village beneath Kamiyama Temple. I actually live in the temple, but I was told to list the village as being my actual hometown..." |

"Mesetame Village..." Yuuki repeated, prompting his geographic mental flexing. Though it was really the mention of Kamiyama Temple that placed it. Akamori certainly dressed the part of a mountain resident but Yuuki would have expected someone tougher. He didn't think the temple had been at such high elevation it stunted growth. "Right, well then, 'the tour.' " Yuuki gestured which way they'd start down the hallway. At least to make it look like he was doing what he was volunteered into, though he still made topical questions with Akamori. "So what where you at the temple, an apprentice? Surprised they'd send you out for schooling." |

Rinji followed his upperclassman down the hallway, keeping three steps behind him. Judging from his tone, Gouriki-sempai really didn't want to be leading him around today. Not that he could blame him, from what he'd seen, Rinji could've sworn everyone was studying for something big. Or maybe he just didn't like him. There was always that. Rinji let his vision wander, taking in what he could see from the school's windows. At least the view was nice, if a bit...industrious. "Believe it or not, my family are the primary caretakers there. My mom's a licensed teacher, so she's been homeschooling me ever since I was a kid. Dad's old mentor, the last caretaker, is my master. He's grooming me to take over one day, if I choose to. That's one of the reasons I came here, while I had the chance. I wanted to see what life in the city was like...maybe see if there was more to my future then just being a monk." |

"Hmm," Yuuki said, taking in the information but filing it under 'Trivia' for now. Well Nagashima is certainly a place to get the worldly view. As he walked Yuuki had his hands clasped behind his back. "So, as you see here, second floor." Yuuki turned back at the end of the hall. Typical high school set up. "Floor plan matches all the floors, bathrooms typically by the joint stairs. Up is third year, down leads to first. We take this wing and thats where many club rooms are, with staff offices clustered on first." The stairs. "Nothing for you to see upstairs so we'll head down." |

Rinji nodded politely and periodically to Gouriki-sempai's explanation. He'd process all the information later, but for now he was just trying to get his bearings. If the floor plans were all the same, how come he was having so much trouble figuring out where he was...? In his mental struggle to build a floormap of the building, Rinji completely lost track of his position relevant to his tour guide. As such, when stairs were mentioned, he had already taken a long walk off of a very short step. It was here that he noticed that classroom floors were much better polished then the halls and stairs. It was also here that he seemed to turn into the fall, hands landing firmly on alternating steps, then the rest of his body coming over his head in a twisted sort of cartwheel, feet planting on a single step together. Rinji then pushed off with his momentum and did a backflip onto the landing, arms extending as his knees bent under his weight. Then, he seemed to wave his arms frantically and land flat on his ass with an "OOF!" |

Fubuki was walking down the hallway to explore more about this school, Taiyoutono High School when she saw someone falling from the stairway. She was a distance away from the stairway, so she was unable to rush to at least act as a cushion to that someone, but she tried her best to rush towards the falling person. Well, she didn't make it, but when that person had already landed, she was already close. "A-are you alright?" Fubuki asked, worried about the person. She hoped that he didn't crack his tailbone after landing on his butt. |

Having one hand on the railing, Yuuki stopped in his tracks as Akamori proceeded to fall down the stairs. He bit his lip to keep from voicing a thought. Do they not have stairs in the mountains or something? As Yuuki walked down the steps to where Akamori had landed there was another new face. Fujioka whoever. Another recent transfer to have the time to make up their exams later. "I think he can take it, that was actually an impressive flip earlier." He contemplated things for a moment, cringing at the thought but it would be best to do just in case. "Although the tour can head right to the nurse's office if you need it."
