As they walked, Kinzaki managed to sense a Shadow right ahead of them. She blinked several times, adjusting the strength of her scanning capability to figure out what the enemy truly was. From what she could tell, the Shadow that was ahead of them wasn't as weak as the ones that they usually fought near the entrance of the ruins, but it wasn't something that they couldn't handle. She looked at Isoroku and Yuka before she nodded. "Alright, there's an enemy in front of us," Kinzaki said. "From what I can tell, the Shadow is stronger compared to the ones we usually fight near the entrance, but I'm sure we can handle this," she told both her teammates about the Shadow. She could feel the Shadow was getting closer to them, and Kinzaki drew out her rapier. A moment later, the Shadow that Kinzaki sensed earlier showed up. It was a Death Ursa, the stronger and meaner version of the Armored Ursa that they used to fight. "Please be careful, everyone. It's immune against physical attacks. Please give me a second before I can find its weaknesses," she said. "Alright, leave it to me!" Isoroku said as she stepped forward, putting on her mask and summoned Penitent Gretchen. The white witch emerged from her psyche after azure flame-like aura erupted around Isoroku's body. The witch held out one hand, charging one attack. "Garudyne!" Isoroku shouted, and Penitent Gretchen launched a violent gale towards the Shadow, buffeting the bear with the mystical wind. The wind managed to deal quite a significant damage on the Death Ursa, but the Death Ursa seemed angrier as it get back on its feet, growling. A few wounds could be seen on its body, and mud-like black mud was trickling onto the floor. A few seconds later, some of those wounds began to close themselves. It seemed that the Shadow was regenerating itself from its injuries. "Everyone! Please be careful! It seems that it's healing itself!" Kinzaki told both Isoroku and Yuka. "I know. I have eyes..." Isoroku deadpanned. |

Well, the trip soon escalated quickly as Yuka and the other girls quickly came across a giant fucking bear. Kinzaki told them that it was immune to Physical, so attacking it with swords was out of the question. Isoroku attacked it with a Garudyne, and it looked like it would soon keel over. Until its wounds disappeared. Apparently, some Shadows could heal themselves. "Well, that could certainly get annoying." She said, never minding the fact that it was a big fucking bear wearing plate mail armor. She summoned Arianrhod and casted Magna, hurling a chunk of earth at the giant bear. |

The Death Ursa let out a beastly growl before it focused its attention towards Isoroku. Then, with impressive speed, despite its apparent size and mass, it rushed towards the part-time model, running headlong into her, delivering a Kill Rush attack. Despite Isoroku's best effort to avoid it, even with her enhanced reflex, she was unable to dodge the attack and was thrown back. "Aahh!!" she cried out in pain. As she was thrown back, she used her left hand and held out to touch the floor. Then, using that hand, she tried to stop the momentum of the throw before she twisted her body a bit and then landed perfectly on her feet. She gritted her teeth as she placed her other hand on her chest, feeling slightly winded after being attacked earlier. "Isoroku-san!" Kinzaki shouted after seeing Isoroku being hit. Despite knowing that Isoroku was strong, she was still worried after seeing her friend being thrown back like that. At that time, she had already learned the Shadow's weakness. Unfortunately, Kinzaki didn't have a light spell to use, because the Death Ursa was apparently weak against light. "I'm alright," Isoroku responded. Kinzaki went towards Isoroku and stood beside her. Then, she looked at Yuka. "Do you have a Hama spell?" she asked Yuka whether she could use a Hama or not. |

Well, apparently Yuka's magic wasn't strong enough to do much damage to the giant bear, because it managed to throw back Isoroku, and it was still going strong. Yuka frowned when Kinzaki asked if she knew Hama. "No. I don't know it. Sorry." |

"I see..." Kinzaki felt a little disappointed by this. They should be able to deal with this bear, but no one in their group had a Hama spell, which was the Death Ursa's elemental weakness. Then, she sighed before she summoned Joan of Arc. As the legendary icon of France showed up, flame flared out of her body, increasing the temperature of the area by a significant degree. "Well, all we can do is to continuously flinging our magic until it falls dead," she concluded. "I have no better option than that," Isoroku nodded, summoning Penitent Gretchen. Because the Death Ursa had no other resistance and was only immune against physical attacks, they figured out that all elemental spells were fair games. "Alright, let's just attack it and leave it no chance to regenerate!" she told Yuka before she hurled a Garudyne towards the Shadow. The wind spell buffeted against the Shadow's body, and as it tried to regain its footing, Kinzaki launched an Agilao, driving the Shadow further behind. The Death Ursa growled in pain and anger as the combination of the violent gale and searing heat hit its body. And it also had no time to regenerate its wounds. |

Well, guess they had to just attack the bear and attack it fast. Yuka could live with that. Just as long as it didn't have a chance to heal itself, though. As the other two launched their attacks on the bear, Yuka chucked a Magna at it, aiming for its face. Edited by TheGameFreak, Jan 30 2014, 03:15 PM.

The combined effort of Isoroku, Kinzaki and Yuka managed to drive the Shadow back. Due to the continuous assault, with the combination of fire, wind and earth, the Shadow was unable to consistently regenerate itself, and was wounded heavily by the attacks. Seeing that the Death Ursa was already weakened, Isoroku took her chance to deliver a coup de grace, summoning Penitent Gretchen and unleashed a compressed wind attack that took the shape of an invisible blade. The wind blade sliced through the Shadow's hide, and the bear's body was cleanly severed by the invisible blade. She had been practicing to maintain the blade's shape a lot so that she could use it to cut her enemies without relying on her gladius. The Shadow fell down, twitching a bit before it melted into a puddle of black mud. Then the black mud evaporated, leaving nothing but useless scraps. "Alright, good work, everyone!" Kinzaki congratulated the others. Isoroku just scratched her cheek in embarrassment when Kinzaki congratulated her. |

And thus, the giant bear was instantly curbstomped by Kinzaki and Isoroku. Yuka was actually surprised to see that the bear had actually been a Shadow. Anyway, Yuka resheathed her katana then looked at the other two girls. "To be honest, I actually thought we were fighting an actual bear, ya know?" Yuka asked. "Like some bears decided to settle down and live here, thinking this place was some giant-ass cave, then have a family and start a secret bear civilization inside the ruins, ya know?" Yuka chuckled at the thought. "That would be weird, wouldn't it?" |

Both Kinzaki and Isoroku gave Yuka a strange look, and both of them seemed to be sharing the same thought. Well, she was Aleph's sister, after all. "Umm... I honestly doubt that..." Kinzaki responded. Well, it would be ridiculous to have an actual bear living in here. There's no way a bear could wear armor and was immune to physical attacks. "With that said, let us continue." Kinzaki activated her scanning ability to see what was ahead of them. She could feel a presence, but she still needed to focus in order to get a good reading of it. |

Yuka scratched her head awkwardly as Kinzaki and Isoroku looked at her funny. You really do have a strange mind, you know that, child? 'I'm just trying to be myself, is all.' With the feeling of awkwardness now hanging over her head, Yuka had no other choice but to follow the girls deeper into the ruins. So, Yuka followed them. |
