WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
|
Noriko had come to school today with express reasons. She had come not to enforce discipline, or even to chastise students. No. Today was the anniversary of the day she had been adopted. It wasn't truly her birthday, her birthday was a week previous, but to Noriko, that mattered little. This was the only day that mattered. When she was taken from those scum and given to her foster family, but to Noriko, they were the only family she needed. They accepted her. She walked through the halls, her long light blue hair swaying somewhat. She only tied it when she needed to fight. At her side was a sheath, which contained a bamboo katana. Harmful, yet harmless. Merely a weapon of discipline. As she rounded a corner she saw one of her fellow classmates. "Yo! Nori-chan, how's it been going?" The girl replied somewhat quickly. "It is Yuuma-san. Call me Yuuma-san. As for how I've been, I have been well enough. Today is a very special day to me." The classmate shrugged. "I think Nori-chan suits you better, but if you insist. Yuuma-san." She stuck her tongue out to prove she didn't like it. Noriko shrugged. "It is my name, is it not? That is the rules. The rules should be respected and followed." |

As for the tall, some might call gigantic Daichi Nakamura? He'd already been in the hallway. His attention half drifted to a conversation on how a person was being addressed versus how she wished to be. Wait was that a weapon? Weapons were definitely against the rules. Somebody needed to say something. He approached the blue haired girl with a frown on his face. "Excuse me, Yuuma-san was it? You are aware that any and all weaponry is prohibited on school grounds, outside of officially sanctioned club regulations, and that's only if the club has been approved by the proper authority? I'm going to have to ask you turn in your weapon to the proper authorities for confiscation." Daichi never liked to take things by force. Hopefully, it wouldn't boil down to that. |

At this point there was something odd about still going to school. Yuuki was no stranger to the experience of transferring to new places. But have your mind opened to esoteric new 'realities' and still going to the same school made everything feel different. And yet Yuuki still couldn't figure out what all made it different outside a matter of a new perspective. In some ways it was weird but in others, almost... Take a case in point, as while traveling down the hall he came across an argument that almost seemed petty. In the not too distant past Yuuki would have watched and kept quiet, but now throwing out an opinion felt like fun. A slight detour from the other side of the hall. "You're in Kendo too, aren't you Nakamura? Vying to be the new club president? How do you know she wasn't transporting it to the club room or a locker? Does it look like she's about to use it as a weapon? It's all about intent." "Take rubber bands for example." With the sudden surplus of rubber bands in his pockets Yuuki had been subconsciously playing with them around his fingers. He brought one up stretched between thumb and middle finger. "Handy to keep things bound but you could argue it to be a weapon too if I had intent to agonize someone with it." |

Noriko looked at the boy, then her sword and unhooked it from her belt in one smooth motion. She drew the sword and pointed it upwards. "I apologise. I merely carry it on my person so that I am constantly aware of certain truths." She sheathed the bamboo sword and held it out on her palm, then clasped her hand. "Please tell me where I should take it to be confiscated. Rules are rules after all." When the other boy intervened the girl shook her head gently. "No no, he is quite right. I am not a part of the Kendo Club after all. I merely carry my bamboo sword because I am grateful for the family who has taken me in." She spoke with a calm voice, but the calmness carried an eerie stillness. She smiled. "I appreciate your efforts though. But I am not immune from the rules." The blue haired girl bowed her head gently, a sign of respect. "My name is Noriko Yuuma. It is a pleasure to meet you both." The girl didn't seem to be making it difficult, rather the opposite. Rules were rules after all. "Without rules we are simply directionless children playing in mud." |

Good, this Noriko Yuuma seemed to be willing to listen to the rules. Much unlike Gouriki, who for some reason wanted to make it a debate. "Save the philosophical discussion for when you're with your photographer friend Gouriki-san. The other fact of the matter is that is not the kind of weapon we use in Kendo." With that he turned his attention back to the blue haired girl. The frown lessening somewhat. Proper manners, another plus! "Turn it into a teacher, or find the principal. My name is Daichi Nakamura, third year." With that, the boy bowed. |

Yuuki shrugged, because after all the argument was one of petty things and it wasn't as if he had an interest in it. "Suppose it's a good thing that there's no worries about keeping self defense up at school, unlike walking through the rest of this city." Although come to think of it, having one's wood sword on them at all times was very much a 'Seiji Fujiwara crossbow in the dufflebag' mentality. And given what Yuuki had recently come into knowing...huh. Those that kept weapons closer to hand just might be having them ready for some inhuman opponents. "That's a generous assumption from you Nakamura-san, that all Yamamoto and I do is talk philosophy." But if introductions were in order Yuuki also bowed. "Yuuki Gouriki, second year." |

Noriko merely held the weapon in her hands. "I understand. Thank you Nakamura-sempai. I'll be sure to find a teacher before I start my lessons for the day." She held the blade across her palms, the crest of the Yuuma family stenciled onto it. Was it a training sword? Was it simply like she said, a constant reminder she was a Yuuma? It didn't matter. The girl looked around, finding a teacher in the halls. "Excuse me one moment." Tapping the teacher gently, she handed the sword off to her and smiled as she returned. "Forgive me, I didn't know the rules about weaponry, I have only started carrying it since today, as today is a very special day." She bowed her head. "A pleasure to meet you Gouriki-san. We're in the same year, so lets work hard." She smiled slightly. What lovely people. Surely they understood the importance and firmness of the rules. Noriko was now unarmed, but it didn't matter all that much. She could fight with her hands if need be. If discipline needed to be done. |

She'd even addressed him properly. Just how was she able to display proper manners but not be aware of the weapons regulations at the school? It was of no matter now. The weapon had been confiscated, and the rules had been followed. Order had been restored, and it seemed the day was looking up! He addressed Yuuki's observation. "Well Gouriki-san, even a school can be dangerous if the wrong person is provoked." He hadn't meant that as a threat of course! Just that some of the people around here had rather...volatile temperaments. So it was best to tiptoe around people you didn't know. Or at least that was the way he saw it. "As for you Yuuma-san? Please refrain from carrying weapons on school property in the future." |

Hmm, outside of dragging a bamboo sword to school Yuuma seemed so...typically dull of the 'let's do our best' Japanese mentality. Yet maybe there might be something different about her. "No need to tell me twice," Yuuki said in reply to Nakamura. "Not that I feel we'd want to trade stories about dangerous schools." He looked back to Yuuma. "I'm in class 2-5, if you're in that or at the same end of the hall in another classroom. Though what, if I may ask, is special about today?" he asked, curious about the phrasing she had said earlier. |

Noriko nodded slowly. "Danger lurks below the surface, it is the rules that attempt to restrain the danger. Sometimes they may not be enough, but that is to the people, not the rules. Without them, we are nothing but unruly animals." She spoke very carefully, as if each word was being weighed out one by one. She bowed her head. "I understand Nakamura-senpai. I'll be careful not to carry any weaponry unless authorized to carry weaponry by a club." As the other boy spoke she tapped her foot, trying to remember the class she was in. "Yes, I'm in Class 2-5 as well." When he asked what was special the girl smiled. "My birthday was last week, so today is the anniversary of when my foster parents adopted me. When my life really began. My real birthday, if you will." She motioned to the teacher now carrying the sword. "When I was younger they gave that sword to me. I was carrying it to remind myself of those times." Noriko smiled, straightening her blazer somewhat before making sure it was straight. "My parents are a little strict sometimes, but I owe everything I am to them." Edited by Dante, Jan 27 2014, 12:35 PM.
