Eun was not pleased. The teacher had made her stay back a few minutes after class, and now her favorite spot in the courtyard had been taken. She couldn't even remember the last time she wasn't able to sit there, enjoying the nice breeze as she bounced back and forth between watching different conversations like a bored old man flipping through TV channels. That actually sounds kind of sad now that I think about it...

Finding no decent alternatives, Eun was forced to simply grab her lunch and try to find a table in the cafeteria that wasn't already full. After a few more minutes of searching for an empty corner, she sighed and resigned herself to simply taking the closest seat, flopping down with an audible thump before beginning to shovel whatever-the-hell today's meat was into her mouth. This shit never gets any better... she softly mumbled to herself, a ritual she had developed after constant belief that the cafeteria workers will eventually learn how to cook properly.

"Oh! Hello!" Hanako smiled warmly as the young lady sat down right opposite of her. She was the new student! Hanako still remembered when she was the new person in the homeroom! God, that was awkward! Seemed like years ago then

…so much blood.

Still, the pale-haired young woman was chipper, friendly and kindly. "My name's Hanako Ito, by the way! Pleased to meet you!" She had her bento open and was just to get to eating when Eun showed up!

There was a slight spring in the boy's step even as he tugged at his collar. Man, this thing never felt loose enough for him. Unfortunately, he hadn't been able to find any of his usual buddies. A small shame, but hey he was always willing to meet new people! As long as the people weren't totally insane. Which was a lot considering Nagashima in general. He came across a relatively empty area, save two girls sitting down.

"Hey there, is it cool if I sit here?"

He grinned, it was too bad he couldn't bring his camera around with him during the school hours. So many candid opportunities around him at a near constant rate. Still the boy was in a rather chipper mood, so why not see if he could make some new friends right?

Eun was slightly startled at the immediate introduction of her new lunch partner. Eun-mi Choi... Likewise, she responded, slightly wary. How can anyone be so excited with this kind of food? she wondered, before noticing that it wasn't cafeteria food that Hanako was eating. She stopped shoveling mystery meat for a moment to simply admire its beauty.

Before she could go any further on that train of thought, however, another voice broke through the air. Turning to see who it was this time, she saw another smiling face asking to join them. Sure, she said, shifting her bag and placing it beneath her so as to make sure it wasn't blocking him from getting to a seat.

I wonder if he brought his own too... am I the only one dumb enough to actually eat this crap? I need to learn how to cook lunches.

"Hello, Hanako Ito." She repeated her greeting for the newcomer. Her attention was back to Eun…that was a Korean name, wasn't it? She was sure there was some idiots with too much nationalistic spirit that might give her a hard time for that. Hanako didn't really care, of course.

Of more concern than which part of the world they were born in was the lunch. She gave a sympathetic grimace, that was…yeah. Actually? Not only did she bring one lunch but two, just in case Mari showed up. But for whatever reason, the wild girl was nowhere to be seen that day.

…well, if she showed up later? She'd buy her something nice to eat.

"Hey, um…I've got an extra one? If you'd like something other than that lunch?" She offered her second homemade bento to Eun.

"Nice to meet you. The name's Takeru Yamamoto."

Takeru sat down in the space cleared for him. Grinning all the while. Hey, it could be a nice refresher for these two to actually have someone that was being nice just for the sake of being nice itself. He in fact, also had a school lunch. Then again, being born and raised in Nagashima had effected him probably down to a biological level. Therefore, food was food and there was no use griping about it. Now all he needed was the other girl's name and they'd all be familiar with each other on some level.

"So how are you two's day going?"

That was always a good icebreaker right?

Eun-mi Choi, she repeated. Just as she was about to start eating again, though, Eun could almost hear a heavenly chorus singing praise as Hanako offered her a lunch box. After taking a moment to make sure it was directed at her, Eun couldn't stop a grin from reaching her mouth as well. Are you sure? Thank you! she said, grabbing it and immediately digging in. It wasn't a nice cool breeze, but it was a damn tasty substitute.

She almost felt bad after noticing Takeru's lunch, though. Almost, but it was too good an opportunity to give any of it up, especially since she had eaten a light breakfast that morning. It's going well. How about you? she responded between mouthfuls. The next time she turned to face Hanako, Eun could have sworn she spotted a faint halo hovering over the girl's brightly colored hair.

Yeah, definitely learning how to cook one of these.

"Sure! Don't worry! I know the first day here can be a little rough!" She said, still in high spirits. It made her happy to know someone was appreciating her cooking!

As for Takeru? "Oh! I'm well! I'm really well! and yourself?" He was an underclassmen, right? Gotta be the nice, friendly senpai, right?

"I'm alright! Looking forward to photography club today!"

Then again he was always looking forward to photography. Literally always, he might even to compare it to some sort of addictive drug. At least when it came to him anyway. Other people, probably not so much.

"Well i'm glad to hear that your days are going well Choi-san, Ito-senpai! At least we can kick back and relax for a little while now right? Can't be studying and working all the time huh?"

With that the boy started to dig into his food again. Surprisingly without complaint. He had no idea if it was what some people would actually consider bad. Then again, he supposed he had a bit of an iron stomach.

Eun reached the halfway point of the lunch in a flash, finally taking a break to wash some of it down with a sip of her drink. Maybe eating lunch in here isn't too bad of an idea. After that thought crossed her mind, though, what the other two had said finally clicked.

...Wait, new student? And hold on, he calls her senpai and not me? I'm in the third year for god's sake, how can I not be a fucking senpai! Am I really that short? I didn't think it was that bad... and she thinks I'm a new student, sure, I've only been here a year and haven't really talked to anyone, but come on! Although to be fair, I haven't done anything at school but study... but hey now, I applied to that club today! That has to count for something, right! I really do need to get out more though, don't I...

After her inner rant calmed down, Eun decided she should at least try to continue the conversation. Can't be invisible forever. What do I talk about? He's in photography club, right? Let's start there.

Yes, a break is always nice... What kind of photos do you take? Eun almost had to force that second part out.
