WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
She laughed. "Oh man... I did that as well. Once I got a Persona I thought I was untouchable. Took a few hard knocks to convince me otherwise." The Snakegirl fiddled with her fingers a little. "Well... hrmm... how to say this.."

She nodded to herself. "Right. When I first awakened I wasn't very... sane. I wanted to hurt a lot of people and well... I nearly ate someone." She paused. "But that's just between you and me. I'm a lot better now. Lets just say it took a few changes before I found a Persona I liked."

She was trusting him with a secret now? Well it felt good to know that someone could relate to getting some sort of power high from their persona. Sure his personal experience with it fading away had been particularly swift. Getting smacked upside the head was a good deterrent after all. Ayane definitely seemed the direct opposite of what he'd thought of the third tiers. All of them coming off as lazy and high and mighty simultaneously.

"Yes of course, I won't tell anyone. I'm curious though...you said it took a few changes before you found one? Have you ascended multiple times?"

That such a thing was even possible was nearly mind blowing. Was there an increase in power for each single time someone ascended? If so, had the other third tiers ascended multiple times as well?

Ayane nodded. "Twice. I originally had the Persona Kiyohime. The Snakewoman who turned into a monster chasing her true love. Then the Persona Antasesha. The snake that protected Buddha from the rain. Now I have Ouroboros. The symbol of infinity." She nodded to herself. "I've come a long way from when I first begun."

She held her arm out, the tattoo coiled around it. "This though. This was probably why they became snakes. I saw them as a symbol of strength as a kid. When... things happened I took it as my symbol. What about you, what gives you strength?"

So multiple ascensions were possible. This was good to know. Maybe he could induce another after he ascended the first time? That is, if he ever did ascend a first time. He looked at the tattoo, so she really liked snakes huh? Well to each their own.

"Me, I have Michael the Archangel in my head. He's pretty...relaxed I suppose. He really thinks he's hilarious though. I suppose i'm lucky enough to not have a hostile persona though."

Strength huh? This conversation was definitely something.

"Well I wouldn't really consider myself strong by any means. Though if I had to say something that gave me strength. I suppose it's the fact that one day, i'm finally going to be able to make a difference here. Make sure more people get out of the ruins safely. Maybe if i'm lucky enough, i'll become a third tier. That way I can keep my friends and innocent people safe."

As corny and cliche as that may sound. It was Daichi's reason to get out of bed in the morning. People he cared about, being on the way to becoming a police officer, getting stronger in the ruins. Sadly aside from that, his life didn't have much substance.

"My first persona was hostile." A truth let loose simply because it had been so long. The time before now, before Ran, before her friends. When her two closest friends were the only ones that still cared about her.

She hugged him. Without a single thought she threw her arms around him. "That's adorable! I'm really pleased to hear you say that. Just give it time. You'll be able to do it. I reached the Third tier, so I'm pretty sure anyone can do it. Keep on fighting for your dream." The girl released the boy and chuckled.

"I'm glad to see the spirit of justice is still alive."

"Well at least you're comfortable with the one you have n..."

The tall boy's words trailed off as suddenly, he found Ayane hugging him of all things. He let out a small noise of surprise and was overall shocked. What was with all these weird descriptors anyway? Adorable, cute was he some sort of baby? Strangely enough, he found himself returning the hug soon after. It felt good, great even. Then he released as she did.

"I appreciate the vote of confidence Aya. Besides, I doubt anyone thought they could actually reach the third tier when they first started out right? I mean the only thing I can do is go in and get stronger right? Maybe I should start going in more often...."

She chuckled. "You probably didn't expect that. That's ok, I like to hug people. Always have since I was a kid." As he returned the hug she got a little tighter for a moment but then released all the same.

"Whoa whoa, don't start thinking you can do more right now. Keep a steady pace. Once a week is good. Just keep up that pace and you'll be third tier before you know it. Then you'll be able to shoot localized hurricanes like I can. Shred wood to splinters and all that fun stuff."

She breathed deeply for a moment. "If you can get Ky-chan to approve it, I'll train you."

"Oh err, it's alright I mean. I didn't dislike it? Just not really used to getting hugs from anyone. Comes with the territory of being big and what somewhat intimidating. I guess being a first tier helps diminish that somewhat."

Then there was the fact that Ayane could probably reduce him to dust with a single thought if she had ever wanted to simply at her own whimsy. Comforting for her, less so for him.

"Well I suppose maybe twice a week couldn't hurt right? If they're on opposite ends of the week that is. I'm sure I could manage that. I mean there have got to be some that go in a lot more frequently than just once a week right?"

Oh no, he'd messed up again hadn't he?

"It's not that I want you to take over for Sensei or anything. Just maybe, say she's busy or has to cancel for whatever reason? You could fill in for her. Sort of like a substitute teacher?"

"You're not intimidating! You're big and soft like a bear! I'd hug you again but I already have a boyfriend and I don't want it to get all weird!"

She went stern again. "No. You should only go once a week. People that go in more frequently than that get hurt a lot easier. I should know, I used to live there for a little while. That place does things to people the more they go there."

She sighed. "Well okay. Ky-chan's busy sometimes and I'm not busy at all. Makes sense. If you get taught by me though, Ky-chan would lose the fact she's been training you from stuff I taught her. Maybe I'll stay away."

Big and soft like a bear? Why was she being so nice to him? It must have been because they had a mutual friend right? Nobody was ever this nice to a stranger in the backstreets...right?

"Oh well it really wouldn't be weird. I mean I suppose if you choose not to it's alright. I just understand that you're dating someone and therefore any advance I make would be wrong."

He felt silent as she chastised him for even bringing up the idea of going in twice a week. Resisting the urge to comply with the chest rubbing habit he'd developed ever since Naoya had healed his stab wounds.

"Yes well maybe that's for the best. Doesn't mean we couldn't just spar or speak again though, right?"
