WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
Ayane was bored and thankfully, the long period of healing from her own stupid mistake was over. She had kept in shape by doing exercise when she could and thanks to Ran-kun, she was in higher spirits than ever. But even he knew you couldn't coop up Ayane in a room for this long and as soon as she was showered and her gloves were back on, she was out swinging.

Despite the lack of practice, swinging from lamppost to neon sign with her gloves wasn't something she forgot. She was dressed in a green set of combat pants, a silver snake coiled around the right leg, starting at the foot. A tank top adorned her chest and around her neck was the necklace Yuzuki had given her so long ago.

The Snakegirl hadn't been going long before she had to let out a whoop of joy. It was exhilerating, it was new. It was exactly how she remembered it. She stopped, hanging from a lamppost by her gloves, laughing until she dropped down.

"Man. The streets didn't change a bit since I was here."

A walk, Daichi needed a walk. The park hadn't felt suitable today. Matechi street was definitely not the place for a walk, chances are he'd be struck by a car. So his logic lead of course, to the backstreets. He carried Charles' switch blade with him today, stuck comfortably in the pocket of his jeans. Wouldn't want to get stabbed again, right? The tall boy had decidedly worn a button up white polo, along with his favorite pair of loafers...was that a woman hanging from a street light? Not to mention the fact that she'd just dropped down and was laughing?

"Ma'am? Ma'am are you alright?"

He approached the older woman a look that was a hybrid of concern, curiosity and confusion on his face.

Careful Daichi, you never know with the people around here.

"Oh um...forgive my lack of manners. Daichi Nakamura."

Worst came to worst, he did have a switchblade. Not to mention the whole angel in his head deal.

Ayane looked up and saw a boy. What? He didn't know who she was? How many people had she saved for her to be casually ignored like that? The Snakegirl sighed to herself and shook her head. That was over now. It was a promise. Ran-kun didn't want to see her get hurt like she did before. That may have been an accident but it could have easily been intentional.

It was a fair point. He was worried. She brushed herself down. "Ma'am? I'm not that old! Jeez! You'd think because I used to bust my ass saving you people you'd remember. Christ. You get put in one accident and the entire world forgets you!"

She smiled. "Ayane Hitomi. So what are you doing here?"

Disregarding the thought line about her saving people. Her name was Ayane Hitomi? As in Kyo's teacher Ayane Hitomi? The idea that his sensei's sensei was standing right in front of him was...awe inspiring? The boy had to resist the urge to ever so slightly back away in...some sort of grand respect he supposed.

"I-i'm sorry but you said Ayane Hitomi yes? You know a Kyo Charinko then?"

The initial awe was wearing off and it was being replaced with excitement. He'd been itching for more lessons and Kyo had seemed so busy lately. Maybe Ayane would be willing to teach him in the mean time?

"Oh I..i'm out for a walk. Get a little stir crazy sometimes I suppose."

Ayane smiled. "Yeah! Serpentina, the Snake girl who protected these backstreets since before all this persona stuff! Ayane Hitomi that's me!" When he mentioned Kyo's name her eyes lit up. "Oh! Where is Ky-nee-chan?" She smiled slightly.

"I meant to go see her. Like I really did. But Ran-kun was really serious. He wanted me to heal quickly after all. Its okay though, I forgive him!"

She shrugged. "Try being stuck inside for months, then you'll know what stircrazy is."

"Oh I uh...I don't actually know. Sensei's been rather busy lately. My apologies Hitomi-san. I myself haven't seen her. Not even for another lesson. Which we need to do sometime soon..."

Not that he was complaining! Kyo's teachings, and possibly Ayane's by proxy had helped keep him alive! This felt strange. Like he was completely crossing into a different social circle than what he was used to.

"Oh yes, Sensei told me you had been injured. Though you seemed to have made a full recovery. What with the uh...hanging from the street light."

Daichi Nakamura didn't think himself easily intimidated. Not even by the third tiers and their fantastic powers. Talking to this woman though? He felt like a speck of sand on a beach. well it was more likely than not just him...doing what? Being daunted by the possibility that there was someone even stronger than Kyo out there?

"Oh speaking of the persona business. You're how some would say...among friends here?"

Pulling his mask into existence didn't actually seem necessary now.

Sensei...? Ayane chuckled. "Jeez. Teach a girl to fish and she'll end up teaching others. Ky-chan's been passing on our lessons? I guess she's super accomplished now." She scratched her chin. "Oh, still in training are ya newbie?"

The Snakegirl grinned. "Oh that? I just wanted to rock around with my gloves. That wasn't even like... 10 percent of what I can actually do!"

She nodded. "Yeah I guessed. Ky-chan wouldn't have trained you otherwise, would she? I'm... well I've been around the block, I'm pretty strong with my Persona!"

"Yeah i've only ever got the one lesson. Been meaning to ask her about more... Hey Hitomi-san? I suppose you wouldn't entertain the idea of giving me a lesson or two while she's busy?"

He had to continue the lessons eventually. Not to mention the two free ones she had claimed he was owed for the night in the training center when she'd needed a person to recharge her 'battery'.

"Going to guess you're a third tier like all the other powerful users? There really is no middle ground between us and you is there?"

Really, where were all the second tiers that should be running around?

"The oooone lesson huh?" She chuckled to herself. "I'm retired though! Nothing a washed up vigilante like me can teach a guy like you." She stuck her tongue out and hissed for a moment before laughing. "I.... I'll think about it. Ky-chan started training you, so she can finish it."

She nodded. "Third tier soundssss about right. Me and my friends reached it together a long time ago. We've been through a lot. What are you? First tier?" She remembered her first Persona, back when she was less of a person she was now.

"Mmm, I suppose. Yes maybe that would be for the best."

That had been rather insensitive of him hadn't it? Kyo going out of her way to teach him things when she didn't even need to associate with him in the slightest. This was how he was going to repay her?

Moron.

"On second thought? I'd rather the extent of any lessons be a spar between the two of us or going to the ruins Hitomi-san."

Oh, so she was a third tier? Well at least she seemed nice. Unlike all of the third tiers that showed up halfway through the COLOSSAL fuck up that was the Qlippoth incident.

"First tier, not ascended and all of that good stuff. Doesn't help when most of the third tiers seem unwilling to help us or even go to the ruins with us."

He was allowed a little irritation right?
