True. Mayu probably lived pretty spartan. Stone bed and weapon racks and everything. He thought, as they walked. The suicidal urge to hold her hand surfaced in his mind, like a whale breaching the ocean waves. He fought it down, like Captain Ahab fought his mortal enemy, the great white- Where were these mental images coming from? Jimmy blinked and shook his head. When was the last time he read Moby Dick? "Oh, y'know, I like to play video games." Jimmy said, "How about the arcade? I know one with three stories just a few blocks from here." He pondered how ridiculous he'd look in his yakuza getup over there, hitting sticks, but whatever. He was going 'cause he liked games, right? Not to attempt to win Mayu something in a crane game... Right? |

"Arcade?" Mayu tilted her head slightly as she contemplated the suggestion. She hadn't played many games in her lifetime, money being an issue and all, but as of recently, she'd waste a few good hours in some sort of browser game whenever she felt somewhat bored. "Eh, sure, why not. Can't wait t'kick your ass." For as arrogant as it was, she had picked up skill in those small games abnormally quickly, due to having fast reflexes. Perhaps she wouldn't do so bad at them. "Are they even open at this hour though? Kinda late." Her building proved not to be too far from the club. It was a rough neighborhood, and she liked it that way - she rarely had to walk around for over thirty minutes before finding something to do to someone. She fished her keys out of one of the jacket's pockets, leading the way into the building, and up the stairs. "Here we go." After a couple of sets of stairs, they were by a not so secure looking door. She opened the lock and pushed the door forth, revealing her home in all of its splendor. It wasn't big. Heck, it wasn't even medium sized. Past the tiny entrance was the room itself, with a door nearby to what was, presumably, the bathroom. That single room was a kitchen, office and bedroom in one. Closet, bed, kitchen counter and the fridge were the most eye-catching features of the place, along with a laptop above the nightstand where she presumably kept unmentionables. A plush rested right next to the bed's pillow. What was odd about it was how immaculate everything seemed to be. Over time living in the streets, Mayu learned the hard way that everything she had - if any - should be kept up and running for as long as possible. And so, she was rather paranoid over cleaning. "Told ya, nothin' to do here." |

Arcade it was then. Jimmy was secretly delighted, but he attempted to play it cool. Attempted. She could probably feel the ecstasy radiating off him in waves, like someone who worked in the sun all day walking into a deep freezer. "You may be some kind of Vigilante Queen, miss," Jimmy remarked lightly, "but I doubt you have what it takes to beat me. I humbly accept your challenge. And yea, they're open this hour. It's kind of a..." He struggled with how to say it, then decided to just cut to the chase. "It kinda tailors itself to otaku and NEETs. It's most lucrative business hours are at night - but they got the best games selection." Mayu's apartment was small, but... very clean. A stark contrast to Jimmy's larger, but much more unorganized apartment. He was suddenly glad she didn't go through any of his drawers, every one was a little piece of contained anarchy. She was right. Not a lot to do h- What was this? Jimmy walked straight to the plush cat head. Huh. He poked a finger into it. 'Nyaaaaaah~' He blinked, partly in disbelief, partly in childish amusement. He gave it another poke into it's giving softness. 'Nyaaaaaaah~' He laughed. "Mayu, what is this?" |

"..." Oh god. Nononononononononono. NO! "A fuckin' head, isn't that what it looks like?" Mayu tried hard to play it cool. She really did. Her guilty pleasure was right there for display, and was being poked to death. With the sound, she was having a hard time keeping her usual scowl. "...Stop fuckin' around, I'll go get changed." And thus, she opened the closet. There were a bunch of weapons located inside, as well as few clothes. She skipped the outfit she stole from one Shou Yoshida altogether, considering she wouldn't go out on vigilantism that night, and instead picked her usual hoodie jacket, as well as a few things to go along with it. "No peeking or I'll cut your eyes off." |

"Just a plush cat, eh?" Jimmy said, poking it again. The cat made another 'Nyaaaa~', as was its duty. "Alright then." Jimmy stopped poking the cat, however. Mayu was having trouble keeping her scowl on, and as much as this emotional torture pleased Jimmy, he didn't want her throwing him through a plate glass window. He furrowed his eyebrows at Mayu's choice of wording in her threat, and turned around to look at her before he could fully think out what he was doing. "Mayu, you don't cut eyes off, you'd like, dig them out or somth-" He stopped. His face went from normal to beet red. His mouth worked up and down impotently. Mental snapshots of half naked Mayu seared themselves into his mind as horrible nightmares of half-naked Mayu murdering him as painfully as possible flew through his mind, whistling through the air like high-yield bombs dropped by an airplane. He saw, alright. He saw toned muscle and pale skin and oh god oh god oh god... He averted his gaze in an instant, hoping she didn't see him. Oh god Jimmy, she was changing! What hell were you doing looking around? His eyes widened in panic. Sweat broke out on his brow. His nose... really? His nose was bleeding. Like he was some damn otaku harem anime protagonist. He looked up from his hand. He needed to use her bathroom. One, to clean up his nose, and two, if she saw him see her, he'd have a door between an angry Mayu and his demise. That *might* give him enough time to hang himself with his belt before she skinned him alive. Good plan. He dashed into Mayu's bathroom with a rushed, almost shouted 'please can I use your bathroom', except without the spaces. It sounded like one word. "Pleasecaniuseyourbathroomthanks" Jimmy gushed, and locked the door behind him. ...Did she know? |

She saw Jimmy's reaction, clear as day. "What are you, twelve...?" Mayu rolled her eyes as the man panicked and rushed to the bathroom. As the door was locked, she took her time changing, picking out whatever looked better unconsciously. "You're already in there anyway." She miraculously decoded his single, very long word. She shook her head at the awkwardness, not really getting it. Within just a minute, she was ready to go. "Unless y'got a little girl's bladder, we're good to go." She called out, putting her trusty pipe and used clothes inside the closet, shutting the door. She then zipped up her hoodie. Arcade, huh. |

...That was embarrassing. Jimmy sheepishly emerged from Mayu's bathroom, after flushing the evidence of his nasal bleeding where no one would ever find it. He didn't see nearly naked girls in person much, alright? And he did not have a little girl's bladder. It was just sensitive. When he looked at her again his face turned another interesting shade of red. He stuttered for a bit. Sentences were difficult for him. "L-Let's... let's.." He cleared his throat. "Le-" He took a deep breath. His face turned from 'tomato' to 'light pink'. "Let's go, shall we?" __________________________________________________ The arcade Jimmy was talking about was on the basement level of a multiple story building - the other two floors being some of the most depressingly empty bars Jimmy had ever seen. He wasn't quite sure how they stayed in business, or what the names of those particular bars were, despite passing them multiple times. He shrugged. Guess it didn't particularly matter. The arcade - Jimmy wasn't kidding. Games ranging from dance games to bullet hell shooters, sidescrolling shooters to multiple cabinet racing games, light gun games - Jimmy felt a childish rush of excitement every time he walked into this place. The proprietor, a man he knew only as Tak, smoked a cigarette idly by the front of the place, scrolling and clicking idly at his laptop. Tak's hair was greased back, and generally, he just kind of looked like an asshole. Well, he was. He definitely was, but he ran the place well. He raised a slightly curious eyebrow at Mayu, as if he'd never seen a human female before, then went right back to his laptop. Mayu didn't trip any of Tak's 'interested' flags. "Sup Tak." Jimmy said, waving his hand idly. Take gave him an equally apathetic wave in return. Classic Tak. "See anything you like, Mayu?" Jimmy asked, turning his head to look at her. House of the Dead 2 was calling his name, but, it was polite to let the lady pick. Even if she was Mayu. |

Mayu followed Jimmy along the streets towards the arcade, with her hands shoved inside the jacket's pockets, and with a generally bored expression on her face. She didn't know what to expect exactly, never having gone to such a place (for fun, of course), but ultimately decided not to keep her hopes up. "...I wonder what's the fuckin' electrical bill of this place..." She muttered to herself at the sight. Electronics, electronics everywhere, all for the sake of entertainment. She hadn't brought money with her, so maybe she'd just watch people play stuff or something. "I ain't payin'..." She mentioned as they walked in, and just as they were glancing around, her eyes fell on some sort of arcade with a dance pad underneath, and a railing. It had... arrows? Before she could focus on where she was going, the poor woman walked into a wall. Luckily enough, she was already walking at a slow pace as it was, so the crash wasn't awfully painful. She made an attempt to shrug it off by clearing her throat and stepping away from the offending barrier. "Pick whatever ya want. I don't care." She wasn't paying anyway. |

He knew what she wanted to play. Her eyes had fallen on a Beatmania machine (Jimmy wasn't entirely sure which one, these machines tended to have way too many adjectives and verbs after the names and not enough core gameplay differences for his mind to care), and not only had she set her eyes on it... In a fit of unintentional cuteness, she'd even plowed into a wall. Jimmy snorted, suppressing a fit of laughter. "Want to dance, eh?" Jimmy asked, still grinning from her collision. He picked a handful of 100 yen coins from his pocket and deftly placed them in the front pocket of her hoodie. She wasn't going to play, but Jimmy was determined to see Mayu pick something fun to her. Call it, 'research for unspecified purposes in the future'. "I'll buy if you fly." Jimmy said. He gestured to the machine she'd been looking at when her unmentioned, but totally noticed wall check had happened. |

"Dance?" Mayu repeated while watching the machine. So it was a dancing game? Mayu briefly imagined herself stepping into the thing and playing it as if she was danc-- "--Fuck no, let's go! Who the hell do you think I am..." The girl rather hastily reached for Jimmy's wrist, dragging him away from that infernal machine, in the complete opposite direction within the place. She didn't even seem to notice she had gotten comfortable around him enough to touch him that casually. |
