The stress had been piling up to a ridiculous extent, in Machi's opinion. She needed some sort of release, and she needed it now.

No, not that kind, you pervert.

The girl decided that afternoon to go to the Ruins; however, she didn't want to alert many people of such. Only one person to sweep the first floor should be fine - she was about to hit the second tier, she could feel it in her very bones.

She had stayed in Kendo later than normal on purpose, and spotted Alan by the exit. It felt awkward to be alone with him, as the last time such a thing happened, she ended up cheating on her then boyfriend. But the past was the past, and they swore to move on.

As Alan accepted, she was quick to drive them to the Ruins. She kept her weapons in the truck at all times, so they could be out of sight of her dad, Yuki, and the whole mansion staff. She grabbed both katanas and strapped them to her back, which frankly looked weird over her school uniform.

"Shall we, Alan-kun?" To be perfectly honest, she hadn't gotten used to call him such a thing, and her heart skipped a bit whenever she got to. The blonde frequently chastised herself for feeling such a thing, but she couldn't help it.

She motioned towards the entrance of the place, and looked in. Just a fight or two would do.

"Hm? Oh...yeah sure!" The boy nodded, seemingly snapped out of his own thoughts by Machi's words. Truth was, he was a bit surprised that Machi had asked him to go to the ruins. After what happened, he thought that she would be at the very least uncomfortable around him. Sure they said they would pretend it never happened..but.

But it totallyyyy did!

As usual Whisp decided to cut into his thoughts. Trying not to let out a sigh the boy walked into the ruins. He hadn't been here in quite awhile. He didn't exactly even like the thought of going back, but exploring the ruins was a necessary thing, he couldn't hide just because he had gotten injured.

Oh! Lose a hand this time to you can get a hook!

To be perfectly honest, the cheating event went completely past her head after that same night. Engagement, Hanako's coma and birthday, marriage preparation, preparing documents so to move to Kyoto...

Too much. There was just too much in her mind at that point for her to have time to think about a simple kiss that didn't mean anything.

"How have you been?" Machi decided to lead the way - at least she memorized the areas near the entrance, no danger of getting lost that one time. The first time they had gone there together, she was terrified of even stepping into the place...

That felt like a lifetime ago.

"Let me know if you see something." She grabbed the oldest katana, unsheathing it, and coating it in ice.

"Same old same old, you?" He spoke, peering into the ruins a bit nervously. It really had been awhile since he'd been here...If he had to be honest with himself, he'd say he'd be straight up avoiding this place. After what happened last time, he'd had quite enough of the ruins.

So why the hell was he here again?

"This place is as creepy as ever." He muttered to himself, nodding at Machi's statement. He slowly drew his switchblade, trying to turn his mind away from just what it had been used for...He really needed to get a new weapon...

"Very, very busy... For obvious reasons." Machi would leave it at that, for both their sake. Marriage was a sour topic to bring up between them especially; even more so after that one incident post dinner one day.

One she vowed to forget, but really didn't. But hey, at least she could act like nothing happened.

"I got used to it I suppose... I take it you haven't been here much?" Not that she could blame him. The eye incident must've been damaging beyond appearance alone. But, at least, she caught wind of Kumori Yatsu's healing capabilities. That was always great.

"I've been coming here a lot, since the formation of the group. I'm pretty sure I'm about to reach the next 'tier' of powers, as they call them..." Machi idly commented while leading Alan further into the place, already knowing that location by heart.

At least, she wouldn't get them lost.

---

"This is odd." Said a redhead as she approached the entrance of the Ruins with an unlikely partner; it was odd indeed. Why had Shou called Suzu to go to the Ruins in the first place?

"Say, lover boy, long time no see." She idly commented. Stopping once in front of the lobby, she removed her weapons back and opened, taking out what looked like a haft, and screwing a couple of weights onto it.

"What brings ya here with little old me?"

"Right..right." He muttered as they continued to walk along. His eye was wildly shifting around, trying to spot any threats before they even appeared.

"Not really, haven't been here in quite awhile." And he'd leave it at that, he'd rather not mention the lethal clusterfuck that was his ruins expedition with Hanako.

As he spoke the boy shivered just a bit, he had that nervous feeling that something was watching him...Slowly he turned, and for just a moment, thought he saw something staring at him through a doorway. He immediately halted and turned towards it, only to find that it had completely disappeared. "..I think...something is in that room." His grip grew just a little tighter on his switchblade and he stepped towards the door, but honestly couldn't force himself to open it...

--

"Odd? How so?" The boy stretched slightly as he stood in front of the ruins. Well, it might be the fact that he had specifically invited her here...but hey, bonding through violence in the ruins is what he did best!

And ending up nearly naked.

Has that happened every time he's been in the ruins?

Shit it has.

"...Yeah its definitely been awhile." He sighed, finishing up his stretching. He hadn't been the most social person in the past month, too busy moping around and being sad. Honestly? He was sick of moping around and being sad, so, he'd flipped open his phone and played phone roulette.

Guess who he ended up calling?

"Fate." He smiled "charmingly" at the girl for a moment. It had been awhile since he did this...and it was really hard to keep a straight face.

"Hm?" Machi peeked past her shoulder to look at Alan, who seemed distraught. "Are you alright?" She asked, before her gaze followed towards the door.

Yes, there was probably something in that room. There was probably something in every room anyway.

"I got it. Better me than you." The woman said, stepping in front of the armed boy. Being more experienced, she definitely could take more of a punch than he at least. The blonde opened the door cautiously, peeking inside...

"...I have a very bad feeling about this."

---

"You askin' me here is odd." Suzu answered in a deadpan manner as she took care of her truly massive weapon. After both weights were screwed, she retrieved a final part from the bag...

...It being a rather massive spiky metal shell to screw onto the haft, giving it the appearance of an oversized bat with spikes protruding all over the place.

Overcompensating much?

Suzu gave Shou a weird look once she was done screwing her weapon together, and slinging the bag over her shoulder, gripping the huge weapon with both hands with strange ease. Apparently, she had been doing some training.

"Let's see if your 'fate' doesn't get us shafted today." The girl noted while motioned Shou to follow along, into the labyrinth.

"I'm...okay." Alan spoke as he tried to force himself to move, only to find his efforts fruitless. truthfully he was a bit glad Machi had decided to take point, but at the same time felt like quite a coward. He'd never been afraid of the ruins before. Not during his awakening, not when he stood his ground against that giant..wrestler thing...not even when he'd lost his eye.

So why now?

He tensed up as Machi opened the door, slowly peeking over her shoulder an-

"BANG!"

In a corner of the room stood a little girl, both her hands clasped together, making a finger gun aimed straight at Machi and Alan. If this were a real attack, you'd be dead." The girl smiled as she spoke again, giggling wildly as she finally revealed herself.

It was a little girl...A pale little girl with dead gray eyes, a small torn up little dress and long, gray hair. Despite not summoning her in awhile, Alan recognized her immediately.

"Whisp?"

Holy shit!

I know, this i-

I'm adorable!

--

"Yeah well, We haven't really hung out much." He shrugged, watching her put together her weapon. "Figured the best place to bond is in the ruins." He couldn't help but laugh just a bit.

He didn't resist letting out a low whistle as Suzu finally put together her weapon. "Damn, where'd you get that?" He was a little surprised at the ease she seemed to have while holding it. He REALLY needed to get into using weapons.

The boy spoke once again as he followed Suzu, "I'm sure we'll be fine, maybe we'll run into a field of puppies eh?" He'd really amped up the joking around today, had to make up for a month of full seriousness.

It seemed that the bad feeling was entirely accurate.

Machi didn't seem fazed with Shadow Whisp's antics. Instead, she stood by the doorway once its door was fully opened. It was the very Shadow of Alan's Persona after all; it could make personal attacks, even more so with Machi there.

It would be his choice whether they brought it to an end or not.

"I doubt it."

She then glanced at Alan, waiting for his decision silently. What would they do?

---

"Bonding in violence... Blood siblings or some shit like that?" Suzu couldn't help but laugh a little at the idea. She didn't actually have a sibling and didn't mind the sight of blood much anymore.

I'd say you're turning into quite the masochist/sadist, Suzu-chan~

"Had Naoya do this for me." She beamed, apparently extremely proud of the colossal weapon. She barged right into the Ruins, already knowing the entrance by heart as well - she had gone there often lately. "Been working at his place too. Weird at first but ya get used to it."

As Shou spoke, Suzu decided to activate her scanning ability to full potential. "Huh. Might not run into a field of puppies, but might find bubuzuke. She's up ahead. The fuck?"

She took a moment to scan the place further. "Pirate boy's with her."

Well, at the very least at least it wasn't a wallshark. Even so, these things can be even more dangerous, at least psychologically speaking. "Maybe we shoul-"

"Run away?" In true whisp fashion, the shadow cut Alan off, still not moving much. "I mean I know that's exactly what you want to do." The shadow laughed, still keeping the finger gun aimed at the both of them. "It's cool if you do, I AM kind of a badass."

I like her, I really do like her right now.

After letting out a small breath, Alan raised his blade. It wouldn't be a good idea to just let this thing roam around, he glanced at Machi for just a moment, relaying his decision.

"BANG!" And before he could even react a zio shot straight at both of them.

--

"Somethin like that." He spoke as he followed her. Eh, why not?

"It pay well?" He reallly needed a job, he wanted to be able to support himself (and Setsuna, unless she got a job...hah.)

And just like that his mood faltered just a bit. Machi was here? Why? Why did she have to be here today? Of course he didn't have anything against her but...Just seeing her hurt.

Annnnd his good mood was gone. His fists clenched just a bit at the mention of Alan. Okay so maybe he had something against him. Maybe it wasn't the stabbing, maybe it wasn't the fact that machi had forgiven him so fast, maybe it was just that fact that he got to see her and not him.

"Let's just kill something." He sighed, starting to walk a little faster.
