Kakeru was standing near the entrance of the ruins, waiting for the others to arrive. Like usual, he wore his gray turtleneck shirt underneath his black jacket, denim pants and shoes. He brought all his weapons; the nodachi Hanamatsuri, the flaming sword Rekka and his unnamed bronze shortsword. He brought all his swords for emergency purpose, either in combat or to provide the others the weapons if they really needed them.

He wanted to help these people to grow stronger, even though this method could be dangerous. But he was sure that with good planning, they could make it.

For now, he wanted to see their capabilities and specialties so that he could plan what to do next for them. It would be hard, but he believed that he could do it.

"Yo Takaki, thanks for the help. Kinda iffy 'bout doin' this alone."

Suzu and Toki walked their way through the woods, aiming towards the Ruins. The first looked like she was about the explode, and the last had a band-aid on his forehead from a whack he received over asking for the night off at the bar.

"Whyddya come anyway?"

"................"

'Don't snap at Serizawa, don't snap at Serizawa, don't snap at Serizawa, don't snap at Seriz--'

I bet it'll be 30 seconds before you decide you'll kill yourself, pfft.

'SHUT UP, UNDINE! God damn...' Poor Suzu couldn't keep Undine from crying herself with laughter, and sighed in an irritated manner. This would be hell, wouldn't it?

'Stupid bubuzuke.'

"Uh..." Toki felt awkward with the lack of response. But, soon enough, he spotted a young man, whom he assumed to be the guy willing to help them with training.

"Yo! You're the Tsukuyomi dude?"

Aleph trekked through the woods towards the Ruins, feeling particularly iffy about training for a lot of reasons. Several of which were glaringly obvious.

I can't believe you'd actually stoop so low as to accept training from that Kagami asshole.

Adonis had a point, but as much as Aleph hated it, he had no other choice. But that wasn't exactly the thing he had on his mind about the whole trip.

I will not punch Suzu. I will not punch Suzu. I will not punch Suzu. I will not punch--

How about we flip a coin and see whether this thing will end in shit?

Adonis, fuck off.

Adonis was being more annoying than usual today. Not only about training with Kakeru, but also about Aleph's hilariously awful interactions with Suzu, post-Tea Ceremony Incident. Kakeru really was determined to try this, wasn't he?

Fuck my life. Fuck my life sideways.

Aleph decided to think of something else, like his outfit and his weapon. As usual, he had left his mother's scarf at home and had changed into his regular out-of-school outfit. Aleph hadn't really thought of what to name his saber yet. He was somewhat stuck between Hinokami ('god of fire'), since Aleph used fire magic, and Shirokuro ('black and white'), which was how Aleph viewed the entire world in general.

Soon enough, Aleph quickly spotted three people ahead and walked up. He saw Kakeru, as predicted, along with Toki and, mother of hell, Suzu. Welp, Aleph had nothing else to lose anymore, anyway.

Aleph waved and smiled at Toki and Kakeru. "Hey, Kagami, Toki-san." Aleph said, then made a deadpan at Suzu. "Hey, Suzu-san."

Mia was lucky that day. The rest of her family's things arrived at their house that very morning. Amongst things that were recently shipped across the Pacific was her camping and survival gear. That meant that she had a serious upgrade in her ruins-delving arsenal.

Rather than have to purloin hammers, skillets or kitchen knives, Mia now had a survival knife resting in a sheath at her belt. It was a robust, properly tempered blade, straight on one side, serrated like a saw on the back. The advertisements for it boasted it could be used to fend off wild animal attacks, she supposed she was going to put it to the test that day. Most importantly though? it was Mia's no one would ask any questions if she took it, or miss it if it was destroyed or lost.

So that meant that it was the ideal weapon for her right then. More importantly, amongst the group waiting at the entrance were people she knew. Suzu Takaki from her first return trip to the ruins, and Akira Serizawa Aka 'Aleph.' He was in Drama Club with her, and he was at that fishing trip and he was also there the last time she visited the ruins.

There were a couple of people she didn't recognize. Either Kakeru or the tough-looking guy was Tsukuyomi-no-okami from bedlam. More important than that, the tension between Suzu and Aleph could be cut with a knife.

'Wonderful, now we have to contend with childish feuds as well.'

She smiled and waved, and intentionally got between Suzu and Aleph. Looks like the smart thing to do would have been to act as a buffer for all the drama. Cliquish Behavior 101.

"Hey again, Suzu-san! Aleph! Ready for action?"

So, people were coming. Kakeru could only hope that Aleph wouldn't do anything stupid this time. He looked at them as they showed up. He did a headcount as they appeared. Karma hadn't showed up yet. He looked at his watch. It's already 6:13 in the evening. He sighed.

"Yoo!!" then, he heard Karma's voice before he saw the red-haired boy coming towards them. He was seen carrying a pickaxe, resting it across his shoulder. He was wearing a plain shirt and cargo pants along with hiking boots. Well, at least he showed up, Kakeru thought to himself.

So, everyone had showed up. It's time to welcome them. "Thank you for coming, everyone. Before we begin, let's introduce ourselves to each other first..." he said, looking at the others. "My name is Kakeru Kagami. Let's do our best..."

Kakeru looked at everyone, waiting for them to introduce themselves first (even though they might have known each other beforehand).

Suzu felt a shiver run down her spine the moment she felt Adonis enter her scanning rage.

'Calm down, calm down, calm down...'

It was like a mantra. She absolutely had to stay calm or face the wrath of a deranged tea addict later.

Please, Suzu-chan, for all that is sacred, do not snap on Serizawa-san. I noticed that he accepted to go as well, and I'm well aware of your not so pleasant feelings towards the boy.

Remember he has plenty on his plate as is, and deserves for you to cut him some slack. Senseless insulting will lead nowhere...

"..." How she wished she had just skipped reading that PM entirely. Stupid bubuzuke and her guilt trips. Suzu lightly cursed mentally for allowing herself to be so manipulable to the older girl.

"Yo, everyone. Toki Kimio, 'sup?" Said Toki with a small smile, as he did a double check on his shin guards, to make sure they were tied up properly. In the meantime, one of Suzu's hands slid across the strap of her weapons bag, wondering if it all would be okay.

"Suzu Takaki, nice to meet'ch'ya." That was straight to Kakeru, as the girl already knew everyone else.

Oh no. As if this trip couldn't get any worse (at least, worse than ruins trips normally do), Karma, of all people, had shown up.

What the fuck?! That red-haired asshole has a Persona now?!

No, no, no, no, no. Of all the horrible, excruciating, and unimaginable torture that was to be brought down onto me, why this?!

One asshole, two assholes, three assholes. Probably four, if you fuck up trying to make friends with Mia-chan over there.

Why me? Why?!

As much rage and wrath as Aleph was currently feeling building up inside, he had to swallow his anger and just grin and bear it, regardless. He had to train with Kakeru if he wanted to get stronger, and that implied having to work with people he didn't really get along with. Specifically, Suzu and Karma.

Fuck this shit. We're not going to spend one second with either of these assholes.

I have to bear with it, Adonis. I have no choice.

Really, Aleph didn't. He didn't have a group to take care of anymore, even when he had spent so much time and energy into just making sure it got by.

Thankfully, Mia was between Suzu, so Aleph didn't have to deal with her. There was still however Karma, who was out in the open. Aleph had to control himself.

I will not strangle Karma. I will not strangle Karma. I will not strangle Karma.

You're really gonna go through with this, aren't you Master?

Like I said, Adonis. I have no choice.

So, after everyone else introduced themselves (even though everyone pretty much knew each other already), Aleph cleared his throat and decided to do the same.

"Hi, uhh. My name is Akira Serizawa." Aleph introduced himself, attempting to be as smooth and nonchalant and charming as possible. "My friends call me Aleph. At least they would if I had any friends. Pleased to make you all's acquaintance."

Aleph bowed politely, even though he knew full well that neither Karma nor Suzu deserved any common courtesy. Still, it didn't hurt to just be nice.

"Oh, hey, Karma-kun. Fashionably late as always, huh? Guess this means we're both Persona users, huh? Cool." The tone of her teasing remark and the fact that she seemed to light up when he showed up would have been more than enough for the astute to notice the Nisei and Karma were on good terms. Perhaps even more…

But when Serizawa gave his introduction, all that good cheer was gone. She was crestfallen as she turned to him, shoulders slumped and pouting. "Hey, Aleph. We're friends…aren't we?"

'Yes, yes, throw him a bone so he'll behave. It looks like no one else there can barely tolerate him. Probably for good reason. Still, be careful around him. We're close'

'Close to what?'

'You'll see, when the time's right. The same goes for Karma.'

'Um…alright, I'll take your word for it.'

So, it was probably a good idea if she tried to keep some semblance of unit cohesion with the little rag-tag band of ruins delvers. On top of that? Lif had decided it was time to get all cryptic and mysterious on her.

She smiled and put her left hand behind her back as she waved with the right. "My name's Mia Sato! I know most of you already, and I intend to give it my all!" to Toki, she gave a particular warm greeting. "It's very nice to meet you, Kimio-san! I hope we get along great in the future!

Karma suppressed his urge to laugh upon hearing the obligatory 'my name is Akira Serizawa, but my friends call me Aleph, if I have friends' before he looked at Mia, nodding. "Yup, cool." He didn't expect Mia to be a Persona-user. Seriously, he should've expected that beforehand.

"Name's Karma Akatsuchi," Karma introduced himself. As much as Karma wanted to humiliate the resident butt-monkey Aleph, he thought that this expedition was more important than that. "So, what're we gonna do, Boss?" he asked Kakeru.

Kakeru cleared his throat, coughing into his fist before he continued. "So, before we go inside, I want to know everyone's Persona and skills. And if it's alright, the Arcana as well..." he wanted to know every aspects of all of these Persona-users so that he could do a better sorting. "And I need to appoint one of you as the leader, of course. I won't be involved much in this expedition other than bailing you guys out of the situations that you guys can't handle..." he added.

Suzu rolled her eyes at Aleph's introduction, with Undine snickering in the back of her mind. The self pitying greet always made her stomach want to revolt rather violently, but since Machi was so overprotective, she couldn't do a thing to the boy.

'Ugh.'

She couldn't help but note how incredibly ironic it was that Aleph blamed bubuzuke for everything, yet she went out of her way to protect him. 'Fuckin' morons...'

Toki sighed to himself. Much like Mia, the impression he got was that the tension among most members of the group could be cut with a knife. He wasn't exactly aware of all the issues, other than Aleph screwing up a bunch of times over what he read on Bedlam.

"Nice t'meet'cha, Mia. Same here." He let himself smile a bit, glad someone was not being forcefully nice. Though, it somewhat irked him that everyone was a Taiyoutono student again.

His thoughts were interrupted by Kakeru asking a very pertinent question. "Uh... I got plenty 'o Taekwondo years under my belt, as well as wind, physical 'n poison magic. Also got an attack buff thingy."

Suzu sighed, she had to say the same... Despite the vast majority of them already knowing anyway. What a pain... "Scanning, healing, water 'n electricity." She pretty much blurted out the list. At least the team seemed to be well distributed as far as it came to elemental coverage.
