"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"

"Easy there," Noburu said firmly, pushing Sio back down by her shoulder the moment she made a move to sit down. "You went and burned yourself out in there. That was stupid. You should have pulled back or let me know you were almost out of power... what if something else decided to interrupt the fight? I can't look after myself and protect you from monsters sneaking up on us." Now that Sio was awake, June seemed unwilling to look her in the eye. She stood up and folded her arms over her chest, turning away from the girl and affecting an air of nonchalance, although to Noburu it looked like she was embarrassed. But, of course, Sio had spent the whole fight actively arguing with June's Shadow. The girl must have said some things that struck a chord with June herself. "...Just rest up a bit, and I'll see if I can't get you a ride home from someone on Bedlam," Noburu said. "I'll stay here until I know you're safely on your way. Alright?" |

Certainly, Sio felt stupid. "Sorry. Got reckless," she said, apologizing to Noburu and June. It's just that she wanted to help June despite what her common sense had told her to not do it. "Will not do it again..." she added. She nodded when Noburu mentioned that they would wait for someone on Bedlam to deal with the injured Sio. "Is June-san alright?" Sio asked. She learned her name after hearing Noburu saying her name. She thought that the Shadow might have mentioned Noburu's name as well. Then, she remembered something important. "Just remembered. I haven't introduced myself yet..." she said, chuckling to herself a bit before she started to cough. "My name is Sio Murakami..." she finally introduced herself. "Pleased to meet you two." |

"Noburu Nakano," the red-haired boy answered in a level, calm voice, leaning back. A look toward the mohawk girl, and he added: "...And this is June Hollyfield. June, could you put the call in to Bedlam?" "On it," June said. While she pulled out her phone to make the post, Noburu focused on Sio. "...You need to keep a level head even when you're desperate to do something," he said quietly, at a volume that June wouldn't hear. "If you get reckless, you could hurt yourself or other people more than you actually help. Remember that so you don't have to learn it the hard way." |

"...Yes," no matter how much she tried to argue with him, Noburu sure had a point. Her recklessness was probably the real aspect of her personality. The aloof, quiet girl who talked with fragmented sentences was only a mere facade that she created in order to gain more understanding on how people around her interacted with each other, with her just being a mere watcher to those people. While it might be lonely sometimes, she enjoyed being a 'reader' to people's 'stories'. "Will remember..." now that her real self had resurfaced, she had to remind herself to not do it again in the future. "Am sleepy..." then, Sio said. "Can I take a sleep?" she asked. She was tired and had no energy left to even move a hand. She could only hope that by sleeping, she could regain her lost energy. |

"Go ahead, then..." Noburu said. He looked up. "June. You look sick..." June shrugged her shoulders as she continued to type at her phone. "I feel sick," she mumbled. "Not just because of that monster, but because of that place. It's like... it doesn't want me there. I feel like I've been running for hours. I'm sore all over and all I can think about is flopping into bed." Noburu frowned. He didn't feel particularly drained. Did it have something to do with his Persona? Normally, people without one couldn't enter the ruins, but June had been an exception: someone with neither the potential nor a Persona, who'd managed to slip through the barrier with the aid of a Persona-user. Maybe her body or spirit or whatever couldn't take extended periods of time in that place. "...Another reason I can't take you with me," he said heavily. June didn't say anything for almost twenty seconds. Eventually, she answered. "Yeah," she said. "I know. Just don't go in alone, okay? And don't get killed like Shouta-baka. I want you to come back, dammit." Noburu wondered if he should take this chance to ask June about the things her Shadow had said, since Murakami was going to sleep and the two of them were alone for a while. He decided to let the matter rest. He shouldn't even have been privy to his girlfriend's secret feelings to begin with. And those were neither here nor there, he told himself, as long as she didn't act on the bad ones. |
