"Ma'am? We should get you out of here. There are things that live...or rather they exist down here. We come down here, and we fight them. Except when we come down here and come across someone new, like yourself."

Except...maybe she should actually be made aware of what shadows were. Better yet, actually fight some. He doubted they could have outran the shadows even if they had tried. Hopefully, this woman didn't get a power high like he did at first. The only thing that had snapped him out of that had been a literal slap to the head. He didn't exactly relish the thought of having to do that to her. There was the added factor of her not having some sort of weapon that existed on the physical plane.

"Ma'am do as I do and get behind us please."

He placed the mask back on his face. Then motioned for her to get behind them.

"You're going to need to learn how to fight these things. I and Fujiwara-san shall take the lead this time around. Now then, Fujiwara-san which direction were they coming from? Any of them resistant to or null Fire?"

As soon as Seiji indicated from where and if they did? Either he would send the fireball zipping in that direction, or just dissipate it.

"Right here!"

As soon as an Hablerie turned a corner, the floating, striped giant mouth with the black lolling tongue, Seiji drew his blade and neatly cleaved it in two. He was very diligent in his training, and he really, really didn't like that sort of Shadow.

"None of them weak to fire!"

Soon a second giant mouth showed up, followed by what looked like two sapient oil-slicks with clawed hands and ornate magenta masks. The surviving Hablerie decided to attack Daichi with a lick, while the Maya's attacked Akeno and Seiji with Agi spells.

"Why am I even here?" It seemed that they had forgotten to explain that piece of vital information. Akeno couldn't trust them. The voices inside her head told her to, but she couldn't trust them.

But, trust or no trust, she did see the monsters. In pure survival instinct, she did move to be behind the pair, gripping her mask tightly.

You are not helpless, woman! Stand up for yourself!

Akeno blinked a bit dumbly at the manly voice echoing in her mind, it sounded rather forceful. It wanted her to fight. Just after Seiji indicated their lack of a fire weakness, the girl looked down at the mask.

Believe in yourself! You can do this!

The girl put the mask to her face just before seeing an incoming Agi. With superior athletic ability - which she normally actually kept hidden from most - she ducked, the fireball going over her head.

NOW!

"Janus!" The name rolled off her tongue as if she had always known it. A humanoid figure... or rather, two conjoined figures appeared behind her facing opposite directions, one of a man, one of a woman. Those figures seemed to throw an Earth spell towards the Hablerie.

Well, as soon as he'd seen a target that he could get a clear shot at, the tall boy took it. Flinging an Agi of his own at the shadow that had been aiming to lick him. Some of these shadows were downright disgusting.

"We can explain the why after these shadows are dead! Just focus on one at a time! Three of them for three of us!"

If only Seiji had actually been able to scan them before they'd shown up. That was Daichi's fault really. Gaining the woman's trust was more important than being aware of the weaknesses though right?

Truth be told, Seiji had already known the strengths and weaknesses of those Shadows ahead of time, they were very common on the first level and he remembered it. And even if he didn't, once he understood a Shadow that information was always readily displayed.

He was hit by the Agi, and responded with a Hama, melting one of the two Maya's into nothingness.

"You're here because that golden butterfly dragged you here, and no one knows why it dumps people here to fend for themselves."

The Hablerie died off rather quickly as well, having being hit by two attacks in rapid succession, the last Maya took another shot of an Agi at Seiji, who like last time wasn't up for dodging it.

Akeno's eyes widened slightly as the chunk of earth hit home, and coupled with Daichi's assault, it was more and enough to disappear into nothingness. It felt like something taken straight out of a video game.

Her mind seemed to reluctantly settle down with the idea of having two high school students for allies, even though Daichi seemed around her age somewhat. Of course, that gave her the idea that the two boys were posing as students, but with dangerous creatures in front of them, priorities were made.

"...?" What... What was Seiji doing? The girl looked on as he didn't seem to even want to dodge fireballs. The girl was about to push the boy out of the way, but the voices in her mind told her what to do.

Again.

It is his choice, let him behave as he pleases!

Resistances are a thing, you know.

"Resistances...?" She mumbled to herself in a low tone, unaware of the possibility to carry the conversation on in her head. Nevertheless, she decided to test out the other skill that was just in the tip of her tongue - her Persona reappeared, seemingly dashing at the foul creature, aiming a spinning kick at it with two of its four feet.

Daichi, rather than let his friend stand there and take yet another Agi head on. Decided to forego attacking a shadow and instead, went to intercept the fireball in the younger boy's stead. The thought of pulling or pushing Seiji out of the way was entertained for about a second. Only for him to register that if he did that, the woman could be hit by it instead. So it was better that he take the hit instead.

This is probably going to hurt a lot, isn't it?

You chose to do it.

Well, it wasn't as though Seiji weren't trying to avoid the fire. Such a thing was simply beyond his means, being far from a borderline supehero, Persona or not. But he didn't have to worry about the second one.

"That wasn't necessary, senpai."
Yes, apparently Daichi had sprung in it's way, and the girl, with her new Persona, had dealt with the last Shadow.

He sighed. "Well, if that's all, let's get going home." He kind of wondered if that one little hit was really worth a DIa spell.

That was fast. Overall, those enemies seemed pretty easy to beat, but... What would have happened if they hadn't found her? If she hadn't given them the benefit of the doubt?

"..." For once, she felt like she should trust the two boys. Akeno owed them her life, after all, and would be sure to repay it somehow. "...Thanks for the rescue, fellows." She ended up saying, letting a relieved smile grace her lips.

However, something bothered her.

"Home? Wait wait wait, hold up. I think there's some explaining in order?" She didn't feel entitled to it, but it was still confusing her beyond belief.

The Agi spell struck home. Singing him along with his clothes. The strangest thing about this being, that even though he was weak to Ice spells. For whatever reason, he resisted Physical instead of Fire. Still, it wasn't like it hurt that bad right?

"Nonsense Fujiwara-san. I hadn't been struck yet."

Maybe he should recommend Kyo for lessons? He'd been able to dodge a number of things thanks to them. He didn't exactly relish the idea of taking the next Agi either. Still, if he had to he would. Oh dear...did the woman want an explanation now of all times? That wasn't exactly the best idea.

"Ma'am? If you don't mind, could the explanation wait until we were outside? More of those things could come."

He'd decided to go with the phrase 'things' instead of shadows, because easing her into all of this would be better.

"One of us is going to walk you home anyway. Standard procedure whenever we get a new person joining us. I suppose I volunteer myself for the job. Seeing as how Fujiwara-san was simply expecting training this time around."

He gestured for them to start going back the way the two boys had came, and then started to walk in that direction.
