Aleph smiled as Jimmy talked to him. He seemed like a really nice enough guy, at the very least. He wouldn't mind at all, probably, if Aleph affixed a few playful nicknames to the guy. "Well, it's nice to make your acquaintance, Jimmy-kun!" Aleph said, smiling but slightly wavered his smile. "Is it...okay if I called you that, dude? I don't wanna piss 'ya off or anything." If Aleph learned anything from trying to nickname people, it was that it didn't always end well. The memories of Machi and Momoko and Suzu still flashed in his mind quite often sometimes. Well, at least this guy seems pleasant. He doesn't look like he wants to beat you up. Never mind the fact that he's a whole lot bigger than you. Aleph went and followed Sora and the group through the ruins until they quickly came across a group of Shadow that seemed to be possessing six types of various electronics. Aleph stared at the sight for a moment, then unsheathed his saber. He then had Adonis cast Rakukaja on him, preparing for the first sign of attack. |

Jimmy smiled amicably at Mia, raising his mask for a second. God, she was adorable. It made his heart ache that kids so young had to be dragged into business like this, but he supposed there was no changing it - the veteran persona users were almost all high-school kids. "Mia then." Jimmy said. "Pleasure to me-" Aleph's Jimmy-kun comment caught him off guard. He snorted and attempted to keep a laugh from escaping, but it happened. "Alright. Jimmy-kun works. It's just ridiculous enough for me to dig." They came across the group of junk shadows soon after. It was pretty clear that, although non-aggressive, these things were in the way of where they were trying to go. Mia and Aleph both cast some kind of preparatory skill - Jimmy guessed they were combat enhancers of some kind. He didn't have anything like that - John's only skills revolved around hitting and keeping steady. So, he guessed he'd have to be the one to break the ice. He positioned himself in the front of the group, and swung his sledge at the mass of shadows, fairly sure he would hit at least one of them packed up like they were. |

Sora's expression grew even more irritated when they came across the Shadows. He didn't want to waste much time on these small fry. His mask apperated on his face, Kohaku's doing the same. Kohaku figured he would lay back for the first fight or so; get a good idea of what the other's relative levels of strength were. With Eshu equipped Sora channeled flames around his axe before swinging into the nearest Shadow. |

Upon contact with the first of the Shadows, Jimmy's axe had a rather effective. The Shadow crumpled under the blow. Sora's axe had a similar effect. With a small cacophony of screeches, they had the attention of all of them. At once, the two seriously wounded Shadows, the one with a film projector for a 'head' that Jimmy nearly smashed, and one of the phone-laden ones pressed together. The Shadowstuff that was most of their bodies merged into a conglomerated mass. This newly fused Shadow responded with a Mazio. It was so unexpected that Mia didn't have a chance to think of dodging or finding cover. The radiating electricity found her right away. She saw red, then black, and crumpled to the floor in a twitching heap. She was alive, and not even that badly hurt thanks to her protective magic, but she was definitely incapacitated from the shock. The other Junk Revenants pulled away a bit, and tried to attack the biggest threats from afar, two tried to hit Jimmy with Zio spells, and two attempted to do the same to Sora. |

Aleph felt the pain and the slightly stiffening effect of the Mazio as it passed through him. Thankfully, it didn't hurt as much thanks to the Rakukaja and Aleph's wishful thinking. Jimmy and Sora attacking the things head on seemed to hit their weaknesses. However, Mia was struck down by the attack and looked to be incapacitated. Ouch. And the others would probably be hurt as well. Aleph summoned Adonis and had him cast Media on the entire group, healing them effectively. He then turned to the Shadows and had Adonis fire a Maragi at them. If physical attacks could weaken them, then fire would probably damage them without much difficulty. |

A lightning bolt slammed into Jimmy - from the Bigger Shadow. It was the first time something had actually managed to hurt him in the ruins, but thankfully, it wasn't what he was weak to. The shock passed through him without too much effect. "That all you got?" Jimmy laughed, and spat at his attackers. "I got enough for all of y-" Jimmy saw Mia in a crumpled heap - that distraction was all it took for two more Zio bolts to hammer into him. His world became nothing but gritted teeth and muscle contractions as volts and volts and amps and amps of electricity turned every nerve in his body into a singing orchestra of pain. When it was over, Jimmy swore he could smell smoke coming off of him. Then as quickly as the pain had come, it was... lessened. Jimmy felt the warm, rejuvenating glow of a Dia-type spell, and like that, he was (almost) as good as new. He guessed it had come from Aleph. He pointed to the big shadow, as if he were a home-run hitter designated where he'd send his next long bomb. "You're next, you fuck!" He rushed the large Junk Revenant, swinging his sledgehammer in a vicious downward swing. The steel whistled as it was propelled violently through the air... |

Sora was hit by the zio spells, having let the surprise of both the shadow combining and one of their comrades falling to the ground catch him off guard. He swore, trying to let his body rest for a moment while the lightning spazzed through his muscles. A few little shocks wouldn't be nearly enough to take him down though, especially with the healing the other kid was providing. The mazio had struck Kohaku as well, who was similarly recovering from the ever uncomfortable pulsing of electric shock. Sora hadn't wanted to start blowing energy so early into his trip into the ruins, but with an injured party member they needed to defeat the shadow as quickly as possible. "Back away from the big one Jimmy!" Sora called out, trying to give the other boy some warning. Eshu appeared behind him, and wasted little time in casting an agidyne at the larger shadow. Kohaku gathered that Sora and Jimmy would be more than enough for the large Shadow. He targeted one of the 'normal' shadows with a basic agi spell, still attempting to keep some distance. "Much appreciated, Aleph." Kohaku responded to the teams wounds being healed. |

Predictably, the powerful fire spell was enough to totally roast the Shadow, nothing was left but the most heat-resistant parts of the consumer goods they were fused with. The turn of events had an effect on the remaining Shadows. Namely, they turned to flee. Her body ceased random spasms eventually. Mia was no longer flailing helplessly on the floor. She took a deep breath and when motor control returned to her, she got up on her knees. "…okay, I'm okay…" She was still seeing spots, and her head was killing her. Mia didn't even want to think what that would have done to her without that layer of protection she threw up, or how badly she might have been in shape without that heal. She got the ice pick she dropped and got to her feet just in time to see that the situation had changed quite a bit very soon. "…I missed something big, didn't I?" |

Aleph looked as both of the combined fire spells effectively roasted the technologically-obsessed Shadow, assuming it to be dead. It didn't melt into Shadow goo, so Aleph couldn't tell for sure. Oddly enough, that actually frightened the other Shadows and they had decided to turn tail and run. Aleph sighed with relief as the other Shadows ran away, then quickly ran over to Mia and helped her up. "You okay?" Aleph asked, pouring another Dia on her for good measure. |

Jimmy was too far in his swing to back up - the Agidyne exploded in front of him, washing him with blast-heat and forcing him backwards. He staggered backwards from the sudden violence of the attack - his welding mask saving him from flash-blindness. "Holy shit!" The large Junk Revenant was now just an unpleasant memory. The rest turned tail and fled, gibbering in their strange static-speak. His heart was thumping a mad beat in his chest, and he didn't feel like he had to blink. Fighting felt good. Winning felt better. He laughed triumphantly. Jimmy turned to the others, and helped Aleph with Mia. Between the two of them, it should be pretty easy to lift someone that petite back on their feet. "Mia, girl, you missed the whole damn thing. I'm guessing you're not a big fan of Zio, eh?" |
