The Mercury Sorcerer reacted to the Zio-charged arrow just as one could have hoped. The one shot sent its convulsing body crumpling to the ground. The Mars Sorcerer responded with a second Mind Slice, the Venus sorcerer with an attack that was far less direct: It attempted to use Marin Karin on Natsumi. "Well, that-" He hid for cover as the second powerful attack came from the sword-wielding Shadow. "That worked!" He was torn between trying to help finish off the Mercury as quickly as possible, trying to do something about the Mars, or focusing on the third. He'd seen Marin Karin before, so that made his choice for him. "That one's gotta go!" He said as he attacked the Venus Sorcerer with a Hama spell. |

For a couple of instants, Natsumi felt an odd compulsion to not try to murder these Shadows - after all, hadn't they only attacked them after the two of them had already killed the three Twisters ? Perhaps they had healing spells, perhaps it would be better if they just left them alone- Another Mind Slice sailed in her direction, and she realized that an instant too late to dodge - the attack clocked her right in the shoulder and sent her falling to the floor, leaving a gash that ran from the base of her neck to her elbow into her jacket. The brunette spent a second or two in a statewhere she wondered where up and down were, but at least she'd been snapped out of the trance caused by the Marin Karin. She haphazardly sent a bolt of lightning in the three Sorcerers' direction - the fact that she hadn't exactly taken the time to aim was likely to result in her attack not hitting the one that was actually weak to lightning, however. She jumped back to cover, cringing in pain - she was quite sure that Mind Slice would leave a bruise... |

"Oh, shit, you okay Senpai?" Without a second thought, Imhotep appeared hovering above her, just long enough to afford her a second set of healing. Then he was gone, and not a moment too soon. This time the Venus sorcerer tried to flush them out with an Maragi spell, the blast area of the flames allowed it to bypass cover by including them and the areas behind the barricades in the affected space. Seiji was hit by the spreading flames, and elected to hold position instead of risking getting hit by the more powerful Mind Slice. His clothing were actually caught alight and he swatted at the flames in hopes of smothering them and noted to heal the two of them later. "This back and forth isn't working. You said you can power up? Does that affect your spells too, Aizawa-san?" The plan was simple, but they didn't have time for Ocean's 11 Levels of sophistication and complexity. "If so? Power up yourself, use a Mazio again, hopefully that'll soften them up, and we work on the Venus and Mercury Sorcerer, then deal with the big guy when he's alone?" Meanwhile, the Shadows were changing up their tactics too, the Mars Sorcerer walked up to Seiji's cover and simply tried stabbing him with it's sword. The Mercury Sorcerer was still trying to shake off the effects of the electrified arrow, at least. |

"...I'll be alright." Natsumi replied, a slight strain in her voice as Seiji proceeded to do the smart thing and heal her immediately. She decided to take the Maragi rather than run the risk of being hit once again by another Mind Slice - her resistance to the element helped her tank the effects of the spell. Her clothes weren't flame-retardant, but the heat hadn't been enough for them to catch fire. She shook her head. "Smart plan, but I can only power up physically. Doesn't include my spells." the girl replied, preparing another Mazio - it wouldn't be powered up, but it was still a spell, and would get the work done. She sent the spell in the Shadows' direction, and stepped back when the Mars Sorcerer got up close - she almost tried to shoot an arrow at it, but remembered that it was immune to physical attacks. She'd cast a fireball at soon as she'd be able to... |

"I seeā¦" Damnit, his position wasn't looking too good. He'd had no special protections against the Venus Sorcerer's flames, and now he was also looking at a nasty puncture wound from that silver sword too. "Then we have to take them out one at a time!" The Mercury Sorcerer wouldn't be down forever, at the moment they only had to deal with two of them rather than all three. He kept it that way, a Frei spell finished off the Mercury Sorcerer before it had a chance to really do any damage to them. The Venus Sorcerer cast Fire Break on Natsumi, hoping to soften her up somewhat. The Mars Sorcerer attacked with Kill Rush, but Seiji had no intention of getting battered worse, the rapid onslaught of strikes left deep pitted impressions in the wall where his head and torso once were. "Weakest to strongest? What do you think, Aizawa-senpai?" The Mars Sorcerer was definitely the stronger of the two, so the less they had to worry about at once, the better. |

One down, two to go - the Fire Break was annoying, but it also meant that the Venus Sorcerer had decided to waste some time making her weak to an element, a time that she decided to use to counterattack with a Zio that she shot right back at the Shadow - and she jumped further away from the creature, for its spells could actually seriously hurt her now. "Good plan !" she shouted back, nocking an arrow on her bow and releasing it in the Venus Sorcerer's direction. It was obviously the weakes t of the two, and as such was their first target... Take care of the small fry then focus on the real threat - a strategy that worked in videogames, and that would quite probably work here. A sound came to Natsumi's hear - it was coming from further away, but her relatively sharp hearing had allowed her to pick it off from the various noises of the ongoing battle. It sounded like a thousand nails grinding on a chalkboard - whatever it was, it sounded unpleasant as all hell... It was still too far away for Seiji's analysis powers to register anything else than a vague presence, although one that was everything but human. |

The scratching was a cause for concern, but the presence didn't register as noteworthy to him yet. So Seiji elected to worry about what that was and if they had to deal with it if it came their way. Instead, he scrambled under a swing of the Mar's Sorcerer's sword and ran right for the Venus sorcerer. In one swift, fluid motion the blade was drawn, he slashed though the Shadow, and the blade was sheathed again. As luck would have it, that was enough to dispatch that Shadow. "Just the big one left then! I'll Heal us both in a sec!" Slinging spells left and right wasn't really an option most of the time, he couldn't divide his attention like that, so he tried to make every one count. |

The grinding grew louder - for an instant, it even stopped, long enough for a deep, bellowing and somewhat human-sounding growl to be heard in the distance. It then resumed, slowly growing louder with every instant. Seiji would be able to feel the Shadow slightly better - it was alone, but also much larger and individually powerful than the three they'd been fighting. Speaking of these, there was only one left - it was immune to physical, so her arrows would be useless. Well, better cast some spells, then - going lighter on those would be good for the rest of the expedition... She cast an Agi in the Sorcerer's direction, all the while trying to keep away from the creature - getting in range of this sword was a bad idea. |

"Bastard!" He tried a Hama spell against the Sorcerer. "That sound's getting closer." It didn't sound friendly. In fact? It sounded like another Shadow, potentially one worse than the one they were dealing with. He just didn't have any information on this newcomer, and not knowing was the worst part. "Just be careful, Senpai!" The prospect of another fight was enough to get Seiji to decide to use Media as soon as it was expedient to do so. But before he could do that, the Mars Sorcerer powered itself up with a Tarukaja spell. |

The sounds emitted by that mysterious Shadows indeed didn't sound friendly - they were more of the kind that drilled themselves into your ear and made you want to run away as fast as possible so you could check if you'd lost some decibels of hearing during the whole ordeal. In any case, it was starting to give Natsumi a headache of respectable proportions. Natsumi nodded along with Seiji's remark - the Sorcere powering up wasn't good news by any stretch of the mind, and it meant that they had to be even quicker with their attacks. "Goddamn, die already !" she yelled angrily, casting another Zio at the Shadow. |
