He'd have to admit, it was nice having Hanako ferry him to and from the ruins in her car. It became rather starkly apparent when he had to walk there when she wasn't available. Still, he and his companion of the day managed to get to the main entrance of the ruins without any major incidents.

"So, ready to go in, Aizawa-senpai?" Seiji felt more and more confident with just his sword, thanks to the Kagami's training. He left the crossbow at home, but was sure to bring Akagame-no-Hime with him. The sword was held at his side ready to draw at a moment's notice.

He didn't really know Natsumi, just one of Kyo and Chika's friends. But she joined the group so it was probably a good idea to have changed that as soon as possible. "Nothing right at the entrance, not right now." He was able to scan that far even without his mask.

Seiji Fujiwara... Well, stating that she knew the guy would have been a lie - still, he seemed like a reliable enough dude with a good head on his shoulders and a decent, versatile skillset. This would be Natsumi's first official trip to the Ruins with a member of the group - hopefully, it'd go well enough.

"I am." she replied, spinning an arrow between her fingers for a few instanst and putting it back into her quiver. She'd done her adjustments before - this would be the second time she brought her bow to the Ruins, but this time the group was smaller, and they didn't have a third-tier user with them. Well, they'd just have to be more prudent...

"Right. I suggest we stay on the first floor, you scout ahead with your powers, and I provide the firepower." the brunette said as she prudently walked into the place, ready to draw an aroow, nock it and release it as soon as it was needed. "If you need an attack boost, just ask me."

"Sounds alright. I can contribute as needed to attacks, but I'll try to be more conservative and concentrate on healing as needed." Her suggestion to limit themselves to the first floor sounded just fine by Seiji, his rare incursions into the second floor were kind of messes anyways. He summoned his mask, the gilded visor covered his eyes, and the information that his abilities gave him increased to a good deal.

"I think I've got something. It's at the very edge of my detection range this way, so I can't even give an exact number yet," He started stepping down the ruins steps. "Let's get a little closer and if it looks promising, we'll work together to take it out." It was definitely a Shadow, or a group of Shadows. Based off what he could tell, it wasn't an overwhelming, enormous threat. Shouldn't be too hard to take care of, whatever it turned out to be.

Natsumi nodded her head, and pressed on forward - always at a measured, prudent pace, of course. Visibility in the Ruins was never optimal, an inconvenience in no small part due to the fact that it was never reached by the light of the day and no less important fact that a good lot of the artificial sources of light had been destroyed as well.

She allowed her eyes some time to adapt to the light. At that moment, Seiji informed her of the presence of Shadows ahead: the girl tightened her grasp on her bow's handle and nocked an arrow - they'd been designed in such a way that's they'd remain nocked even if she let go of them. And indeed, a group of three Shadows soon showed up - and they were unlikely to pose a significant threat.

Three Twisters - a empered, a Tumultuous and a Turmoiled one - came into view, becoming aware of the two's presence as they turned a nearby halway. Natsumi swore between her teeth as she realized her bow would be quite useless - these Shadows were shifting around all the time and had quite a lot of holes in them already, making a precise shot unlikely.

As annoying as they could be to shoot with a bow, the Twisters weren't quick Shadows - Natsumi had the time to take cover behind the corner of another hallway before she fired a Mazio at the creatures, hitting all three - the Tempered Twister got hit the hardest and spasmed for a few instants, while the Tumultuous one barely seemed to register the hit (as far as registration of attacks from living scooby-doos could be studied from their behavior).

The counterattack, however, came quite quickly: a Garu, an Agi and a Mudo shot right in their direction - but Natsumi'd taken cover, so the spells would sail right past her. Seiji'd hopefully had taken cover as well...

"Should be easy." the brunette said to herself - they had the advantage of surprise, but the Twisters could untangle themselves into something even harder to hit. And getting tied-up by these strings could spell certain death if other Shadows happened to be around...

Seiji often found himself in situations where cover wasn't an option. So ducking for it was seldom his first thought. When Natsumi did so, he caught on quickly enough. He ducked down behind a pile of rubble that was once a wall in the hallway, probably blasted loose by some other engagement in the ruins.

"Okay, obviously, hit the one that reacted poorly with another Zio, it's weak against those, The one that resisted it is weak to fire and ice spells, The black and white one is weak to physical attacks and gravity"

Perhaps it would have been best to let that one draw closer? Hitting it with a bow and arrow seemed a pain, slashing it apart was doable but just charging it was unwise. Instead he then struck the Tumultuous Twister with a Frei spell, then ducked down behind cover. He recalled that the Turmoiled Twister was one of those Shadows let loose on him and Kazue and Shane from that one time. There were more problems: From the opposite side of the Twisters, a trio of new Shadows were coming t heir way. "We should deal with them quick, from that way? I detect a Mercury, Venus and Mars Sorceror." Obviously, getting outnumbered and surrounded by that many Shadows was a bad idea.

"Let's just deal with these three for now, and have a plan to run if we need to."

Natsumi peeked around the corner - the Turmoiled Twister had gotten hit by the Frei, sending the creature tumbling backwards in the halway just as it untangled itself like DNA about to be replicated. The two other Twisters had just done the same thing, resulting in six colored strings floating in their direction down the hallway. Quite a weird sight, to say the least.

Goddamn, there were three more Shadows coming from the opposite way now ? Well, better make sure they took care of this small fry quickly... Hitting any one of the Twisters in particular would have been hard, so she decided to just cut to the chase and cast another Mazio to hit all the fuckers at once. They did all get hit, and the Tremorous Twister met its end - the other two weren't in a good shape either, but they were stil able to counterattack with a Hama and a Bufu.

A Hama that appeared right underneath her feet, and that she didn't see before it had almost went off - she was forced to leap back, but it hit her leg nonetheless. That had stung...

"Are you okay, Aizawa-senpai? I can heal you if you need it."

Meanwhile, Seiji put his attention on trying to hit one of the floating figures with a Frei. No particular strategy there except striking one and finishing it off so they had less to worry about when the second wave came. He was pretty aggressive, so much so that the Bufu hit him head on.

He gasped, the cold was uncomfortable on top of the obvious pain of the attack. "They're getting closer, expect them to come around that way any minute now." Seiji pointed at the far end of the hallway. "I'll give you the details when they're closer, let's just deal with this."

"...I'm okay. You can heal me later." Natsumi replied - her shin and foot had been slightly burned by the light spell, but no other damage had been done. She'd shrug it off, as long as Seji healed it in time.

The Turmoiled Twister was destroyed by Seiji's second Frei - it melted into a black pool of ichor, as Shadows were wont to do when their lives came to an end. She checked if the dude was alright when he got it by the Bufu, and turned her attention back to the last Twister when it was clear that he was - it was close enough for a normal spell now...

Suddenly, the strings lashed out, like a whip - next thing she knew, one of them had wrapped itself around her arm, and the other was going for her neck. "Let !" she yelled out, casting a Tarukaja on herself and taking an arrow in her quiver. "Go !" She stabbed the blue tentacle-like string, once, twice, thrice, she stabbed it until it went limp and started to dissolve as well.

Breathing heavily, she turned back towards the boy. "Heal us both before these fuckers get near. I don't wanna get distracted by that."

"Understood." He easily handled that with a Media spell. In an instant, his Persona was healing both of them simultaneously as his attention turned towards the other side.

"Might as well keep using cover- One of those is weak against electricity the…Mercury Sorcerer. It looks like it might be in the middle of the pack, it also resists fire and ice. The first one that gets here at this rate is going to be the Mars Sorcerer It nullifies physical attacks, resists water and is weak to ice."

He got behind cover so they could protect from the Sorcerers, they arrived before he could warn about the last one. The Mars Sorcerer was an invisible figure in a red robe, wearing a blue mask and holding a silver sword, it swung it, and a shock-wave of a peculiar nature arced towards them, a Mind Slice attack. Seiji hunkered down to avoid it, and hoped Natsumi had a chance to do the same.

It was soon followed by a brown robe and and mask, and lastly was different than the other two, this floating orange robe looked like it was worn by an invisible woman. "That's a Venus Sorceror, the one that's a woman, weak to darkness, nulls fire!"

Natsumi moved back behind cover. "Thanks." she... thanked the boy for the heal. One of the Shadows was weak against electricity - right, it'd be her first target. None of them were weak to the element, too ? Cool, that meant she could break out the Mazios and expect to do some good damage. But multi-hitting spells were costly, so she'd have to try some physical attacks for the moment...

Something straight out of a shonen manga snapped her out of her tactics-related thoughts, and she barely dodged the Mind Slice as it sailed their way, ducking at the last second. The arrow she'd previously nocked was still there, and she infused a bit of Lightning magic into it. The Tarukaja wouldn't allow her to fire a stronger shot, but it would make pulling the arrow a little easier.

She aimed at the middle of the pack - she trusted Seiji, and assumed that it was the Mercury Sorcerer her arrow was pointed at.

With no further ado, she released the arrow.
