Nori broke into a rough coughing fit as she abruptly awoke. Her face was against a cold floor. She brought up her head to see a dimly lit room of...some form of laboratory? She rubbed the back of her head as she attempted to get up, her legs violently shaking. She got up hesitantly, almost completely convinced she was dreaming.

Her eyes were blurry, very much so. The only answer could be that her glasses were not on her face. She crawled on the ground, looking for them. She eventually reached them and put them on her face. She was fortunate they were not broken, that would have made this situation far worse.

Her heart rate was faster than normal, but she wasn't freaking out. In fact, she was quite calm considering. She was more intrigued than terrified. It all seemed like the plot to a game or something...except if this were real life if she was not dreaming, then it would be creepy and not fun.

She poked her face softly, with a comical expression.

...

'Er...nope, I think this is real'. And there was the realization...she was stranded. Stranded and scared.

She simply wanted to curl up in a ball and cry...however she knew she needed to survive... What was this place anyway? It seemed to be some abandoned lab...but how did she get here? She read the news quite often...she didn't remember any mention of a serial kidnapper or anything... She did however know Nagashima was a dangerous place. She tried to mentally backtrack...but there was nothing. She remembered school that day, she remembered the final bell ringing, then it's blank. How could she not remember being kidnapped, falling, getting lost, anything?

Kidnapped... That thought hit her as well, she wasn't restrained in any way, in fact...she could move around as she pleased. This seemed too cluttered and unplanned to be a kidnapping. But then what exactly happened? ...The answer would of course not come.

She wandered around aimlessly for what seemed like ages. She was sure she was going insane, it would be justifiable in this situation. The rooms appeared to get dimmer, and she could swear she heard...a voice.

"...always the outcast, eh, Nori-san"

"...how unfortunate that you don't have any friends...otherwise someone may have rescued you"

"...will anyone even miss you, creep?"

Tears were in her eyes, she wanted it all to stop...what was this? It was her own personal hell...she couldn't just turn on her computer, go online and forget everything...she was alone, trapped. There were no distractions, no comforts, she was truly alone with her inner thoughts. She just wanted to be at her house, in front of the familiar glow of her computer screen. The comforting sounds of the chat room, it would be so nice.

The walking stopped and was replaced by horrified, adrenaline influenced running, she was running straight ahead, disregarding any form of direction, holding her hands in front of her face, crying. She wanted the voice to 'stop, please...anything else, just make it stop! W-will anyone save me...?'

The time she had spent in there was already bad, any more time and...she didn't want to even consider the outcome.

When Kasumi woke up one afternoon from unsettling daydreams, she found herself…completely unchanged. From head to toe the exact same. well, there was the daydreams were about a golden butterfly and she was…in what she assumed was the ruins.

"Oh…ooooooh, shit."

That was bad, that was very bad. She'd heard enough stories of people not quite making it out of there before they were attacked by some sort of hideous horrible monster. It was like one minute she was buying groceries, she still held a bag from the Matechi supermarket she was just in. There was a sale on a few items, and she bought them up and then that butterfly, just for an instant, and then? Well, here she was, creepy, monster-infested lab complex. Just shy of some fog for that full Silent Hill experience.

But don't panic, Kasumi! You can totally get out of this in one piece, just y'know…find an exit and get out!

Right, she at least knew what the hell was going on. That had to help her chances of survival! As soon as she gained her bearings she was out of there! Best if she just avoided every creepy monster arou

No, she heard…somebody crying? Sobs? Yes! That's right! She moved towards the source.

"Hello? Is someone there?"

If her luck held up the same as it did that day, it was probably just some crying Shadow ready to rip out her guts…but if it wasn't, she couldn't have just left the girl there, right?

"Hold on! I'll come and see you…in a seco-oh god, what the hell is that?!"

And then she got her first good look at a Shadow. It was a big ugly black bug that seemed to be a revolting mix of vermin with just a few unsettling bits of a man. It clicked curiously and approached.

Kasumi felt her heart start racing and her legs start shaking. Oh, this would have been a perfect time for that voice in her head to come, and then the mask and then-oh, god, she just didn't want to get killed by that thing! She didn't even want it to touch her!

But still as it skittered towards her, and she took instinctive steps back, no voice, no mask, no Persona. She was in a lot of trouble. In desperation, she reached for whatever was handy and threw it at the Shadow.

A small plastic bottle of milk bounced harmlessly off it's disturbingly man-like face. Same for a package of miso. Then she threw an apple.

It screeched in pain and recoiled, that seemed to have hit home.

"Y-yeah! You stay back! You, you…thing!"
She quickly held up another. It visibly cringed and kept a wary distance. "I got another just like it! You know?! So…stay back!" Panicking was useless. Worse than useless. if she didn't stay calm and think she was dead!

…best if she just found that girl, and lead them the both out of there while the situation was relatively under control, right?

Karma was doing a first-floor sweep when he heard someone crying for help. No, actually it's two people crying for help. "Oh, this time the butterfly got two people, huh? Well, it's saving time, then," he muttered before he shrugged. Because there were two people, Karma decided to go towards the nearest one. He could only hope that the other one could hang in there.

First, he went towards the one who was currently dealing with the bug Shadow, because it was the nearest. When he arrived, he saw Kasumi, who was giving an ineffective threat towards the Mister Samsa using things that were bought from the grocery.

"Alright, do your thing, Angra Maiyu," Karma said, donning his crimson mask, summoning Angra Mainyu to deal a Cleave. It was his new move that he learned not long ago. "Hey, I don't think household stuff can work against that thing," he spoke to Kasumi as he went closer. He held his pickaxe with both hands and grinned.

"C'mon now, show me what you got!" Karma shouted, telling the Shadow to attack him.

She heard a voice. Just the idea of another person being near her comforted her. In her state she wouldn't even bother to question how safe the said person was, as long as it meant not being alone. Or more frankly...not being alone with the voices in her head.

"Uhm, yes, I-" about the time she was going to introduce herself the female it seemed was scared by something. Nori shook 'I-I have to do something...' She took all of the energy she could muster and ran toward the voice, maybe together they could take care of...whatever was ahead.

She heard the female address it as a...'thing'. 'I-is it not human...?' This scared Nori even more, but in her rush of adrenaline fixed with fear she wasn't thinking straight. She just continued to run toward the voice. It beat being alone by a long shot.

She was almost to the voice when she heard another. She was a male summon...something. It was a mind blowing moment when she realized what was going on. A human summoning some magical creature to attack some monster... All preconceived understanding of the world was thrown out the window and replaced with the idea that magic, did in fact exist. That was...that was...AWESOME! Nori was seriously impressed by what she was seeing. Just the idea that such a thing existed peaked so many levels of interest.

...

'P-perhaps I should stay focused on what is important here...'

In her excitement she ran toward the enemy and did something...strange, surprising even herself. A mask suddenly appeared in her hand and in a flash she had done something. "Hel!" before she knew it an ice spell was thrown at the enemy. This was...so exciting.

Nori stood with a look of amazement on her face with puffs of air escaping her mouth in exasperation. She deeply questioned where that power had come from. There was no way it could be herself right, then what was...

"...oh look...she's trying to play hero"

"...really, an anti-social introvert like her? How...amusing..."

Nori stopped and held her head. Her person quickly vanished and she fell, crouched on the ground, her face in her hands. She fought back tears and dread...this was...awful. But people were watching her now...she couldn't seem so...so weak...right? Weak...that was exactly how she felt, after even that power from earlier she quickly feel to a few insults from the voices. How pathetic...

Oh, thank goodness, they weren't alone with that thing! So she probably wasn't going to be killed the instant she ran out of apples. Speaking of which? The one in her hand happened to be the last one, despite Kasumi's threat prior.

But she was relieved, as well as a bit annoyed. There should be a bit more gravity when dealing with life or death struggles with monsters spawned from the psyches of people, right? "Well, sorry, but since I don't have a Persona, I just have to make due with what I've got."

And then the girl came, she assumed that was the girl she heard sobbing? The Mister Samsa took the Cleave without being knocked around too much, the Bufu seemed more effective. So was she like the redheaded boy or…?

Wasn't much she could do without a Persona, was there?

'Oh, I've been here the whole time! I wanted to see how you'd handle yourself in this situation first.'

"…what?" She felt the need to ask that out loud.

"Oh, you sure have your own Persona, but wait? You know what Persona is? Cool," Karma said. So, when the other person seemed to be able to summon her Persona, he just shrugged. Okay, that's cool, then, he thought to himself. He looked at the Mister Samsa before he summoned Angra Mainyu again to launch an Agi.

She tried to pull herself together, simply looking up from her spot on the ground she asked the boy "...persona? I-I can't say myself that I know what is going on..." She wondered if her heroic action made things confusing for them.

She tried to get up, hoping to not leave the two with the monster...but just as she tried to get up, she abruptly fell down, and the voices soon followed again.

There she was, will the other two were bravely and calmly fighting against the monster...she was on the ground, immobilized, restricted by her inner demons. "I-is it normal to hear voices...?" Her voice was shaking, tears obviously being fought back. She felt like a helpless little girl longing for someone to take her hand. She wanted to get up, get up and fight. It sounded so exciting, the existence of magic, these...creatures that they were summoning. But that damn voice in her head brought back far too many memories, stabbing her like violent knives.

"Yeah, well. I probably shouldn't but stuff happens, you know…" She said in response to Karma's comment on how she already knew about Personae. At the same time as she said that, the Mister Samsa decided to act It certainly seemed angry as it decided to strike the assembled Persona users with a cloud of noxious, purple vapors: A Poisma spell.

Kasumi gasped, it was a reflex as well as a poor idea. She inhaled deeply of the poison as a result, first her lungs burned, then it radiated though her whole body, pain and nausea and some weakness. If things continued as they had, she might have been killed before she could have even done a thing to protect herself.

"Excuse me…" Quickly, she found out that kind of hurt to even talk, her complexion rapidly grew visibly paler, as well. She directed her statement to the redheaded young man. "Please, protect us for a bit." After that, despite everything, she turned to the girl, she offered what she hoped was a reassuring smile despite her affliction. "H-hey! It'll be okay! Take my hand, alright? We can get though this."

Kasumi couldn't do much in her current condition. This girl had gained a Persona like it was effortless and then seemed to give up. This was no place for that, she could be killed if she just laid down like that!

If she just had the means of fighting back herself…!

There was a weight in her hand that she didn't offer to the girl, she looked down and saw a mask.A luchador's mask even, red and silver and well decorated.

"You can't just surrender like that, you know…? Come on, we can fight it together!" The bag of goods was abandoned for the moment, and she slipped the mask on. It kind of reminded her of that unusual part-time job she had in high school.

'Well, it would seem the time for spectating is over, isn't it? That would mean it's time to do this properly…'

With a shock of blue flames, an armored female form appeared above the Mister Samsa.

'I am thou, and thou art I…
Glory flies to the worthy victors upon the battlefield as I direct it.
I am Nike, cohort of Athena, winged victory!'

With a flick of her hand, glowing white wings that were glowing long, and gossamer appeared at her back for an instant. As they did, Nike struck the Shadow with a Zan spell, brute force of the blast sending the insect-like Shadow skittering to the side.

Well, there's nothing Karma could do while the girls were doing their stuff. And... oh, they got their Personae, after all. That's cool. Now it's time to get them out of this place alive. Seeing that the Shadow was still pretty much alive, Karma fired a Mudo towards it, hoping that this would be the last attack that could finally take it down, like, for real.

The girl approached her. Her dulcet voice pierced through the voices and they faded away. "Y-you're right, s-so very sorry!" She took her hand and got up slowly, scanning for where the monster was with her eyes. 'Just stay focused on this... I will have plenty of time to be angsty when I get home...'

"I won't surrender, I promise" her legs were shaking violently, but she spread them, getting more even ground in a confident pose. She looked down at the mask in her hand "...together" she looked up with a smile. She widened her pose and let a determined look fill her face. Her legs were still shaking violently...but she was at least standing now.

A bufu spell flew in the direction of the shadow. She held back her millions of questions until this thing was down, as she said, she wouldn't surrender.
