For Karma, school was the most boring place on the face of earth. There's no denying it. Well, they sure had a few cool teachers who didn't give evil eyes on him, but most of the teachers were self-important, deceitful and arrogant pricks who loved listening to their own voices rather than listening to their students. Well, while Karma had no lost love towards this educational institution, it's still mandatory for him to attend school. It's not like he had a choice for this matter, either.

And so, after school, the red-haired troublemaker decided to walk around school, looking at what other students were doing. So far, nothing caught his interest. He walked down the corridor, not paying any attention to anything around him. He might end up colliding against someone if he wasn't careful not looking what was ahead of him.

It wasn't a day for either of Mia's clubs. One of the first things she'd discovered about school in Nagashima is the teachers were more strict than those she'd known in America. Well, the ones who were not asleep were. At least that was her general impression.

She mulled more over just one of the legion of cultural differences between her old homeland and her new home when she was traversing though the halls. Perhaps it was a good idea to get a little supplemental studying in? Couldn't fall behind.

"Whoa! The uniform-clad girl was very careful in her position a little bump could have lead to a lot of pain, so she stepped well aside of Karma, even hugging the wall rather than risk an accidental collision. "Careful there, Karma! Someone might get hurt!"

…oh, that's right, Japan wasn't a big 'first-name basis' kind of place, was it? In her excitement that momentarily slipped her mind. Karma didn't seem like the kind of guy to mind a slip-up like that, though…

Karma jerked his head a bit when he heard a familiar voice. Thank goodness there was no accidental collision. He looked at the girl who seemed rather familiar. "Oh, it's you..." he wanted to recall her name, but somehow, her name escaped him. He scratched the back of his head, trying to remember her name.

"Uh, what's your name again?" he asked.

"Mia, Mia Sato." She wasn't annoyed in the least. If anything, 'not the best with names' was just another fact about Karma that got filed away in her mind. Another detail to remember and asociate with karma Akatsuchi.

"So, what's up, Karma? Looks like you got something on your mind?"

"Oh, Mia..." when the girl reintroduced herself again, Karma finally remembered. "Nah, not really. Just got distracted with a few stuff a while ago..." he said.

"What 'bout you? Got something on your mind?" he asked.

"Oh? Me? Nothing, just thinking about school…" Tragic, right? Here she was in school, thinking about school. Something was wrong with that picture, when things went as they should that should have been the last thing on a young student's mind.

But there she was. Worried about school and she didn't even have the basic decency to leave line of sight of it first. "Not that big a deal, wanna not think about stuff together?" She grinned "If nothing else, I can keep you from bumping into people."

"Yeah, good idea," Karma nodded before he realized that they were talking in the middle of the corridor. They might be standing in other people's way if they continued doing this.

"Hey, let's talk somewhere else," the red-haired teen suggested. "We didn't get to talk much that night. Probably because of that drunken weirdo..." he said, recalling Hayate who was drunk while both Karma and Kakeru were enjoying the night.

"Yeah, Nagashima's a college down, alright…" She didn't think Japan had party schools like they did back in the US, but evidently they did things a little differently in Nagashima. Why should Rokketto should have been any different?

"Anyways, where are we headin', just wherever our feet take us, or do ya got somewhere special in mind?" She walked in step with him, and kept her eyes forward. She could always study another time. She took the chance to get to know Karma better while it was there.

"If you don't mind the cliche, rooftop," Karma suggested. "But if you want the unusual, there's a courtyard at the back of the building. Since students here think that rooftop is the best place to meet up, no matter what kind of justifications they have, our poor courtyard is left alone," he said, folding his arms.

"Which one do you want to go?" he asked the girl.

Oh, cliche? Sounded a bit boring. Honestly. "I guess we should see what all the fuss is about on the rooftop…" But Mia just shrugged her shoulders and yawned. "But not today, let's go to the courtyard, yeah?"

Despite the chance to meet more people, what she really could have used at the moment was a little excitement. Not too much, of course, but a little."
