One car ride, a lot of squeezing into Hanako's car, some squabbling, and some incomprehensible directions from Ryoichi later, and they were finally at the fishing spot Ryoichi had described in the Bedlam thread. There was indeed a dock. In fact, it looked relatively well maintained, and there were some boats tied up to it. There was even a dirt road leading from the main road to said dock, which really only meant that someone probably owned this dock they were going to be fishing on. Instead of seeming concerned with the issue, Ryoichi stepped out of the car and smiled. He'd come in full fishing gear, which to him meant a fisherman's cap, a vest, and some bright yellow wading boots thrown on over his normal clothes. He'd brought along an aged tackle box and an equally old appearing fishing pole. "This is it! This is definitely it!" he said. He put a hand over his mouth. "Oh, wait... I shouldn't raise my voice or I'll scare away the fish..." He laughed a bit. Edited by FirebreathFishslap, Dec 22 2013, 10:18 PM.

"Hmm? So you're sure then?" She was used to people with crummy directions sense. She was just confirming, but so far so good! Just like with Machi, just a bit of double-checking and making logical choices when things got cloudy got them where they needed to go with a minimum of fuss. Hanako had her newly purchased fishing gear, as well as a nice outfit for it. Sandals, shorts, a cutoff tshirt a sunhat and plenty and plenty of sunscreen. She and the sun have had an interesting relationship for a while, best to keep it distant but friendly! "You think the owners will mind?" Mia asked cautiously. Her father's fishing gear was going to collect dust. He seemed pretty happy to see his daughter take an interest in the sport. She wore a black tshirt and knee-length cutoff jeans with an orange light jacket tied around her waist by the sleeves, over one shoulder was the nice fiberglass and composite-whatever fishing pole her father used, in her other hand, the tackle box. It'd be fine, even if the owners of the dock did show up, they wouldn't mind a few kids fishing out there, right? Totally harmless! |

Daichi Nakamura had been silent during the car ride. Silent, but had a tiny smile the entire time. At least he'd gotten out of town. This time, with a friend, two strangers, and Akira. He'd bought an old worn fishing pole from an independent store. Usual, they sold used goods. Sure, the "quality" may have been lower but at least it had been affordable. He'd worn the outfit Sakuya had bought him. While it was a nice gesture. He had never really....worn this much red and black before. He'd also bought and was wearing a pair of flip flops, so there was that! This shall be good for the both of us. Indeed. It was nice. Not having this nagging paranoia in the back of his head constantly. He'd even left Charles' pocket knife back in town. After he stepped out of the car, he unconsciously rubbed his torso again. The motion had become a definite habit now. In fact, he was pretty sure he'd done it in the car once or twice. The only possible problem being that he'd never actually gone fishing before. How hard could it be though? Edited by Exodin, Dec 22 2013, 10:45 PM.

Fish? Fish. Fish. Today was about fish, and Aleph was beaming with joy to be going on this trip. He would get to fish for delicious fish! And he was doing it with his friend Hanako, and also two strangers and Daichi. So, he could fish for fish, and bond with people at the time. Fate was definitely being good to Aleph today. Aleph was wearing his father's old fishing gear as well, and he was carrying his own fishing pole. His mother's red scarf still managed to stand out among the rest of the outfit, surprisingly. Aleph steppeed out of the car, smiling. Aleph didn't mind the issue of the dock's owner showing up. "I'm sure they won't mind. We're not doing anything stupid or anything." Aleph said confidently, smiling. They were just a bunch of random kids out there to fish for delicious fish. Nothing wrong about that. |

Ryoichi remained quiet as everyone else got out of the car. He hadn't really thought about the issue of who owned the dock, but he was sure it wouldn't be an issue. Right? He turned back toward Hanako. "Oh, um... I think so. I think it's the right place, I mean." He continued standing awkwardly, until finally deciding to walk over to the dock, tackle box in hand, and sit down at one end. He opened it up and pulled out some bait, which he tried his best to spear on the hook. He didn't seem to be doing a great job of it, though. |

"It's a fishing spot, so good enough, right?" She added cheerfully. Nothing short of GPS tracking or someone who knew the area well and had a good sense of direction telling them. But it was true, one nice and quiet spot to enjoy a day of fishing was as good as another. If it wasn't the exact same spot that Ryoichi was at before, but that's fine! "If you want? I've got some folding chairs, in the trunk." They were the light kind, metal frameworks with fabric stretched out over them for ease of carrying. Enough for everyone though. Even if sitting at the docks with ones legs dangling over the water was fine. "Oh? You want some help with that? I can show everyone how to bait a hook even." Mia offered to Ryoichi. She'd have hardly called herself a master angler, but she did have some experience under her belt. It would have been a little silly if the person that invited them all there hadn't fished before, right? …right? |

"Hanako-san, let me help you with those chairs. Afterward Sato-san, would you mind showing me how to bait a hook? I must confess this will be my first time fishing." Instead of the usual neutral flat tone and scowl. Daichi spoke with a pleasant tone, and even more he was smiling. He set the fishing pole against Hanako's car and went to the trunk. Pulling it open, and grabbing four chairs. one for each hand. The other two under his arms. Yes, even now he was able to find some way to help. It was going to be a good day, he just knew it. Besides, manual labor wasn't much of a big deal for him. So he turned his attention back to the Hanako, Mia and Ryoichi. Still smiling and asked. "So uh....where should we set these?" |

Aleph smiled as everyone prepared to start fishing. Aleph looked at Daichi and saw that he was actually smiling. He seemed pretty happy, despite the fact that he was nearly stabbed to death by Jiro, but that was another story. For now, fishing. "Oh, you can show us?" Aleph asked the other girl. "That's good. I haven't really baited any hooks in a while, so my skills are kinda rusty." |

Oh! They had chairs. That was good. Now he felt kind of silly for just getting up and sitting down on the dock. And he was having a real hard time with this hook... He looked up as Mia offered her help, and he stood up and held the hook out to her. "That would be great, thanks..." he said. "To tell the truth, I haven't done this in a long time, and I really don't have the first idea how to go about doing this..." |

Well then! "Oh, don't worry about it! Just got to get back into it, right?" It was a fairly simple matter spearing the wiggling worm on the hook. There was of course the obvious caveat that she had to share. "Careful as not to stab yourself in the finger as you do." Beyond this it was a relatively painless and easy process. She did it as an example of her own hook, and made sure everyone had the best example possible. "Okay, who'll try it next?" "Oh, wait a second, Nakamura-san? Here's fine, we can worry about the seats in a sec, you should make sure you see this!" Edited by Nonsequitur, Jan 4 2014, 01:41 AM.
