Stupid fucking Shadows and stupid fucking Jiro Takenaka and stupid fucking idiots doing stupid fucking things in this stupid fucking town and interrupting her drawing time! She was going to stab them. First she was going to start with Takenaka, because apparently he didn't learn from the first fight they had, and then she was going to stab Naoya, because shit, apparently he was the source of all of their problems lately! And then she'd stab Charinko's mom, because being a troublemaker was probably in the blood and she had enough trouble with one greenhair bitch, let alone the two they had already, and let alone the third that Kyomom probably was. Maybe then she'd get some goddamn free time! Kaede came up on the scene in time to see Seiji step through the doorway, and she shoved her way through the door, face red, and knife drawn. She looked over the scene. There was Takenaka, being a stupid fuck, there was Naoya, yellow-eyed and evil looking, and there was some blond chick who was probably Kyomom. "Alright, you fucking assholes!" Kaede yelled, stomping her foot. "I don't have any time for some crybaby introspection bullshit, so just tell me who the fuck to Bufudyne first so I can get the hell out of here and go home!" |

"Yeah well maybe i'll give a shit about any of this when it's him saying it and not you. Don't give me that one and the same shit either. You're just a goddamn fraction of the whole package. You and mine. So chatter away about how i'll never ascend all you want. I don't care." He gestured to where his own shadow stood. Then scoffed and shook his head. Even if this was Naoya's repressed emotions, they'd work them out. This was when Seiji came in. He took a step back and finally broke the stare. "Here comes the hit squad~" Oh shit and now Susaki was here. Susaki who was twice as strong as Naoya which meant she was four times as strong as everyone else. This meant that she could kill him. She was probably the person sent to kill him. Did he care much right now? A little. They still had to deal with the shadow possessing Naoya though. That was more important. He could start running after Naoya was alright. "Look, don't Bufudyne anyone. If you're here just to hurt someone, fuck off. Naoya's possessed by his shadow. I'm assuming that was what the blotter post was about? I've got it handled. All it's trying to do is fuck with me. So just calm down and put the goddamn knife away. We deal with me, after he's back to normal." How was he the one keeping a cool head? This shouldn't be possible. He should be trying to run. He wanted to try to run. The only thing tethering him here was Naoya. Sure, the housewife had promised he wouldn't be hurt. How much sway did she have though? Probably not much if she was newer than him if any at all. "Did you really just. I mean, really? It hasn't even been a day since you stabbed Nakamura. You hypocrite. Looks like we're going to die. Alone, and backed into a corner like a frightened animal." Jiro turned his head to glare at his own shadow. Who was currently grinning. Oh how he wanted to punch his own goddamn face in. "Shut up." |

The shadow turned toward Eri, and then back toward Jiro. "Fine, I tried to be reasonable," the shadow said with a shrug. It over-ennunciated every word, as if examining how the flesh of the body's mouth moved. Now it looked over at Eri again, and spoke in a croaking voice. "It's so much more than that. You all need to get away before he self-destructs. I've got no interest in anyone but him being destroyed by it." It didn't look over when Seiji showed up, but swiveled Naoya's head and squinted when Kaede showed up. "Oh, perfect!" it said, forcing a smile that started on the left side of its face before moving on to the right. "Come on and hit me with your best shot. Need justification?" He stepped from where he was, the smile now mutating into a manic grin. As he spoke, he counted off the reasons on his fingers, touching the tip of each one on his left hand with his right index finger. "How about this: You're ugly. Your art's terrible and that webcomic you do is a bucket of shit. You sucked as a leader. Your hat's stupid. You've got beef? Then come on." It snapped Naoya's fingers -- producing a jet of golden fire -- and adopted something that looked like an aggressive stance, but which actually made him into a larger, more difficult to miss target. Self-destructs--? Wha--? A boy arrived. Eri felt a moment of relief, knowing that she wasn't alone anymore. But then Kaede was there, and all Eri knew was that there was a girl dressed as a boy (of course it was a girl, she'd seen her daughter wear clothes like those day in and day out, how could she not tell? Even if this one was a little less fortunately endowed than some), and she was about as loud and probably twice as angry as Kyo on her worst days, and "-dyne" meant the "third tier" of magic if she remembered Shin Imoto's information correctly, and-- "Stop this! Stop this right now, all of you!" There's a certain kind of commanding voice that only a very angry mother can ever produce; it falls just one rung short of military order. The black wedding veil appeared, she pulled it over her face in one rough tug that left it awkwardly placed, disheveled, which only served as an underline for the fire in her eyes, and there was Penelope, the woman under the shroud. It appeared in a flash of blue light, placing itself between Kaede and Naoya--Eri, herself, moved backward, to the side, placing her own body between Kaede and Jiro. "If I'd known you were just going to make things more hostile I wouldn't have sent the damned Blotter post!" Eri snapped, giving Kaede a withering look that she then immediately transferred to Naoya. "And you--whatever your deal is--fizzle out and go back to sleep or whatever it is you call it when you're not using your better half as a mouthpiece. Go on! Get upstairs and back to bed! Naoya-kun has more than enough trouble in his life without you making a mess of things out here." |

As if any of them had come there for him. "Well, aren't you overflowing with tact and class, Beret-senpai?" He said, somewhat bitterly. "Really if this is such a pain in the ass for you, you can go in that case. Me? I'm here stictly for Naoya." He held the Katana, the one that Noya had made for him. Forward like a cane, and said, "Yeah, yeah. Naoya's not gonna self destruct. He's worried he might and that's what you're clinging too, but whatever you say no one who came here for him is going anywhere, so you're just wasting your time." Threats of course were thrown about, but Seiji's only real defense against that was confidence. Stay calm, stay cool, and stay collected: That was how this was going to get taken care of. |

Aleph speedily rode up to the scene on his motorcycle, looking ahead for anything in the way. He then pulled to side and parked before dismounting and removing his helmet. Aleph had taken his saber as well in case any Black Hoods decided to show up. Aleph looked ahead of him and saw that the beret girl and Seiji were already there with Naoya, Jiro, and Eri. Clearly, something looked wrong. Aleph quickly ran up to the group. He looked at Eri, the beret girl, and Seiji. Then, he looked at Jiro and Naoya. Jiro seemed angry, though that didn't seem surprising to Aleph. What did surprise Aleph was Naoya looked like he was acting aggressively. And his eyes were yellow. Yellow... "Jiro-kun. Are you okay? What happened?" Aleph said, looking worried. He then turned to Naoya, wondering what happened to him. "Naoya-san? Are you...okay?" |

Naturally, no one was exactly happy about Kaede busting into the doorway. She opened her mouth to say something else, when suddenly there was a woman yelling who sounded uncannily like her mother, and then a Persona, and then said woman walking up in between them. She gave Eri a glare and said, in a slow, low tone, "I am here to help. I am also concerned about keeping this from turning into another Ruwashi Park incident. If I have to Bufudyne people to do that, I damn well will!" She turned toward Naoya and Jiro, and she raised a finger to point at Naoya. "One: Leave my hat out of it. Two: I'm perfectly fucking aware I sucked as a leader. Why do you think I quit? Three: I'm not Bufudyning you just so you can commit suicide by beret, so that means it's Black Hood Wannabe over there who gets the Bufudyne once we're done here." Aleph showed up at this point, and Kaede only glanced over her shoulder at him before scowling and unfurling her fan as she turned back toward Naoya. "I don't know what's going on with you. I really don't care to know what's going on that would make you go all Shadow like this, and it's really not my place to tell you what to think or to tell you to go away. But I've only been here for like five minutes and I can already tell what's going on." Kaede turned toward Jiro. "Listen, asswipe. He's not fucking with you for shits and giggles. He wants to drive away everyone who likes Naoya so he won't feel guilty for dying. That way no one will care when he dies. If fucking with you and saying what Naoya's apparently 'really' thinking is what he needs to do to do that, then he will." She turned toward Naoya. "Do I have that right, or is it something even stupider than that?" |

"Look I got that yeah? It ain't gonna work though!" Wait, shit. The shadow was trying to rile them all up wasn't it? "Wait, wait, wait. Everyone chill out, put the personas and the pointy objects away. It's trying to get us all worked up. We can all go back to stabbing and freezing and for whatever reason shielding teenage boys with our bodies after alright?" He ignored Aleph for now. Dealing with that could wait. Besides he could just steal his motorcycle if he couldn't actually use Kamina. Sure Aleph would probably get mad, but shit they were buddies right? |

The shadow rolled Naoya's eyes. Very briefly, they went out of synch, the left eye rotating faster than the right by a significant fraction. The yellow glow they cast making the tremor in its control all the more obvious. "I'm not the one doing this to him, you dried up old bitch," it said to Eri, then swiveled his borrowed eyes over as Kaede, then Seiji, then the newly arrived Aleph spoke, and finally Jiro. Could they be any more dense? He sighed, and shook the body's head. "You think I want to deal with you lot? I don't want to be in the first place. You think I asked for this? This...this is fucking painful. I don't care one way or the other about you, but this guy? He's an unexploded bomb. I've got to deal with you anyway, I thought I'd do the fucking neighborly thing. Tell you what, you ask him about the visions he's having -- the ones interrupting my meetings with him -- and then you decide for yourselves whether to heed my warning or not. Sound good?" The shadow dropped down to his left knee, and reached into Naoya's boot. "Meantime, I've got a thing I do when I take charge. Excuse me a bit." With a flourish, the shadow drew the knife that Naoya kept there, blade below its fist. It grinned, and drove the blade into its body's right thigh, opposite the spiraling drill-wound that Toru had left in the body's left thigh. Far from a pained grunt or a shriek, though, its reaction was a sigh like one might expect from someone who had just removed too-small shoes. It breathed out: "Ah...symmetry!" It closed its eyes, and then the body seemed to lose its balance, pitching over to the right. A pained voice, smaller and less smooth than previously, emerged from its lips: "Ah...shit." |

Eri answered Kaede with only a brief look of irritation at the notion that Kaede was more aware of the stakes than she was. She did not dismiss Penelope. If it came down to it, she would use her Gry spell to hold the first person to attack in place with amplified gravity. But it didn't need to come to that yet. As the Shadow spoke, Eri bristled. She knew what it was, she didn't need to be lectured about what this thing was--she had said "you're trying to hurt yourself" for a reason--but there was no time to respond. The Shadow-possessed boy drew a blade from his boot and stabbed himself in the leg. For a moment--as the blade came out--Eri almost cast Gry on him by pure reflex. When he stabbed himself, she froze, unable to process what had just happened for several seconds. "What--?!" And then the boy closed his eyes and fell let out a cry of alarm and ran forward. "Naoya-kun! Naoya-kun!" She dropped to her knees and skidded several inches along the ground, coming to a stop next to him. Penelope turned fully toward Naoya, and from his position on the floor, he might have seen under its shroud well enough to note the quiet worry on its face. Eri's hands hovered over the nice, hesitant, undecisive, her mind in a panic, not sure what to do, whether to help take it out or what: a complete, frenzied traffic-jam inside her head. |
