You really should give up on this whole destroying friendships business. Clearly you're stuck with the friends you've made.

He couldn't help but grin, and even laugh a little. A combination from Kyo and Michael. He relaxed, still grinning.

"So, I get to be a cool action figure then? Am I doing a cool action pose? How about the karate grip?"

Maybe Michael was right. Having friends...it would be better than being alone right? To be able to be there for people and have people be there for him? Though he scowled momentarily at the mention of Aleph. If even Kyo had tried to get the idea through his skull and failed. Then...whatever. Akira Serizawa was of no concern to him. The boy had nothing to do with Daichi. Nor would he ever. Daichi would simply act as if he did not exist.

Of course i'm right. I'm an Archangel.

"Shut up Michael."

The grin widened as he laughed more. He shook his head before finally deciding to actually make eye contact with Kyo. He tapped his temple.

"For an Archangel, he has quite the dry wit."

His destroying friendships plan was quickly going down the drain, and that was a good thing.

"Hey Sensei...thanks. For dealing with me. Though, i'm going to hazard a guess that...Nevan right? Nevan's growing tired of my shit. You uh...you got a person for tonight? For your thing?"

At least he could repay her in that small way. Wait a minute...Kyo had said shadow. How did she still have her shadow if she were Ascended?

"Wait, you Ascended right? How is your shadow even still around?"

"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"
Kyo chucked a bit, and covered her mouth with one hand. "Your figure's just comin' out of a perfect side-roll," she said. "And your Persona's standin' behind it lookin' all epic and angel-y. It might change from dream t' dream, though. Always seems t'do with my strongest impression of 'em all at the time."

The green-haired girl put her hands in her pockets and smiled a softer smile than she usually did, tilting her head to one side. She waited patiently and didn't bat an eyelash as Daichi responded aloud to his Persona's inner dialogue. Her smile widened when he finally, finally looked her in the eye.

When he asked about Nevan, her eyebrows rose.

"Not really. Nevan ain't said anythin' at all this whole time. She usually only talks a lot when I'm alone, anyways. If she did, though, knowin' her... well." She'd be prodding me to help because there's no way I can let 'my playthings' drift away from me... "...well, she'd wanna help, too. Just for kinda fuckin' selfish reasons."

When Daichi asked if she had a person tonight, for her thing, Kyo's grin faltered. She didn't answer. Another person, offering himself for her benefit. After this talk, she couldn't brush him off, though. The change of subject was a relief, really... she was able to put off answering, for just a few moments.

"My Persona and my Shadow are the same thing," she said simply. "Besides, ascendin' don't mean your bad or ugly parts go away, or that y'won't have other issues t' work out over time. People ain't static, they grow and change, yeah? So your Shadow does, too."

Kyo sighed, and closed her eyes.

"No, I don't have anyone doin' that for me tonight. I was gonna wait 'til tomorrow, actually. I don't need it every night, just--every couple nights."

He stood, listening intently as she gave her explanation on shadows and personae. Even her persona wanted to help people? Obviously it wasn't great that it wanted to do it for selfish reasons but still. The thought then even his Sensei's other half wanted to help was comforting in a way.

"How about I be the person for your thing tonight? Then the next lesson can be on the house. You know, actually get in some combat training. Been meaning to ask you when we were going to do that anyway Sensei."

He didn't have to be a superhero. What he could do is be there for his friend though. Even if that meant getting drained like she was some sort of vampire. He would do it. He owed her that much for pulling him out of this funk.

"We'll have to stay where you live though. Seeing as I live in the school dorms and all. I hope you don't think you're just going to say no and get away from this either. You might be the one that risks getting hurt because of friendship, but I can be the one to make sure you're in condition to make those sort of decisions."

He honest to goodness smiled then. Trying to destroy friendships had probably been his worst decision ever. Having Kyo for a friend? Definitely one of his best.

Kyo opened her mouth... and then closed it again. For a moment, she looked vaguely miserable with the situation, but all the same, she nodded.

"My apartment's too small," she said dully. "If y'don't mind a campout, we can lock ourselves in the trainin' center for the night, have a campfire. But so y'know, you'll feel like shit in the mornin'... like y'ain't got any sleep in the first place. So, are ya sure?" Kyo winced. "I hate doin' that t' people."

Then, she shrugged.

"We can train again whenever you're free for it. But, two lessons on the house, not just one. You're gonna go through most o' the day feelin' pretty bad, trust me, just one lesson in exchange'd be highway robbery."

"I am perfectly fine with that Sensei. Get insomnia attacks sometime anyway. Let's get going then?"

He smiled and waited for Kyo to take the lead. Sure a lack of rest was going to suck hard, but if it meant helping her? He'd do it three times a week if he needed to.

"I uh...kind of didn't pay attention when I was walking around. Could you lead us there? Maybe when we get that campfire started up we can swap spooky stories."

He chuckled more. Oh yes, this was definitely a better night than he had expected.

"Two lessons then? Guess I get combat training and something else. You pick the second lesson though."

Kyo laughed, the tension breaking. "Good grief," she said. "Weren't payin' attention? First Nana gets Ryuunosuke and then I get you. Is it the hair or somethin' that attracts apprentices that go derp in the night?"

There was no heat or rancor in this statement, and as she moved to walk past Daichi, she prodded him gently on the forehead at the same moment she said derp. Then, she just walked, beckoning Daichi to follow.

"Trainin' center's this way. And you're in luck, 'cause I kind of expected t' hafta camp out there one o' these nights. Have stuff for a fire and some drinks in the minifridge for just such an occasion. Don't really have any spooky stories, though. That's somethin' I don't have. Meh."

The girl slipped her hands into her pants pockets as she went. And then, after a moment of contemplative silence, she said: "...And thanks, Daichi. I appreciate this. So much that it hurts, even. Just want ya t' know that."

Daichi mock frowned when she prodded his forehead. First Hanako and now Kyo? What, did he have a target on the middle of his forehead or something like that? He quickly went to follow her, going the same pace. He'd always hated being behind people.

Who's Nana? Or Ryuunosuke for that matter?

Eh, that didn't matter. If it were important, he'd find out eventually. What he had been contemplating mentioning was his first and so far only encounter with his shadow. That could wait for another time though. For now, he was just going to enjoy the company of his friend.

"Don't worry about it. Really, i'm just glad I can help you. Besides, never had a sleepover when I was little."

Not that there was going to be any rest. Still, as long as Kyo was healthy? Daichi was happy. Even if it meant he had to feel bad for it to happen.
