The guy in red had a remarkably clean trunk, Atsuko noticed. It was like he didn't just keep things in his car. Then again, a lot of guys were finnicky about their automobiles, so who could say? "I don't know," she said to Hayate. "Probably, but I'm not really an expert." Why he couldn't just have grabbed it an run back, she would never know. A bunch of mutual stranger going to a second location...? Would have been a perfect opportunity for an ambush, but nothing was happening. Maybe this part of town wasn't as bad as it was cracked up to be. "Well, c'mon, let's give it a shot," she said. |

"Sure, let's do this." Harkens stuck to the back of the group. It felt a lot safer for all of them (especially him) to have him covering the rear, as the term goes. Still, things seem to be quiet tonight. A bit too quiet, as the cliche goes. That or paranoia. Paranoia's also a good answer. |

"Yeah yeah, let's see if we can fix your little problem eh Atsuko-san?" With that, the young man hefted the jack out of his trunk and set it on the ground. Shut the trunk, locked it and picked the jack back up before beginning to walk back to the young woman's van. He'd been tempted to start whistling, but that could ruin his image. Hayate was all about his image. Well his image, and partying of course. He needed a nice blend of friendly, and intriguing at the same time. Which he found he could usually pull off quite well! He set the jack down next to the van and grinned. "Alright! Rock, paper, scissors to see who does the work?" |

Atsuko blinked. Jan-ken-pon for the work? Not terribly chivalrous, was he? She sighed, and prepared to throw. Reflexively, she went with the scissors. Novice players tended to go with rock, and so many people got in the habit of throwing paper. She adjusted by selecting scissors every time -- unless she was playing against someone very smart or very stupid. Those people generally always went with rock. On the count of three, she stuck her hand out -- middle and index fingers extended from her fist. |

Harkens simply leaned against a nearby lamppost and watched as the two settled it the classic way. He liked how things ended up. He got to "help" and he didn't even have to do any work. Personally he would have stuck with paper. That or formed a gun with his hands. That generally ended things in his favor. Better yet if you had the real thing. |
