Ami Yukimura wasn't the most outgoing or notable person ever. She was small, relatively quiet, and she only had one real friend. So no one walked over to greet the girl when she entered the room a few minutes early for boxing practice. Quietly setting her books down in the corner, she started stretching and getting ready for the practice.

She needed something to take her mind off of what had been revealed earlier in the week. Namely, magic was a thing, and she could do it with the help of her persona.

Small stuff really, every teenager went through certain things as they grew up and had to adapt to large changes. .....

Today the coach was missing, but had left instructions they were going to all be paired up for some practice matches, which meant it was absolutely sure she was going to have to face off with someone. It was just a matter of who.

And in a fit of brilliance, the captain had decided they would be drawing names at random out of a hat with no regard to weight, age, gender, or anything. And was just now putting up the list with everyone's names on it. Apparently drawn up while everyone was warming up.

"Ami Yukimura vs Jiro Takenaka."

Jiro

Oh gods. That had to be a typo. There was no way. She was a first year student. They wouldn't be that crazy to pit her up against him. He was a year older, significantly larger, and far more enthusiastic when it came to fighting than she had ever demonstrated. Ok so he was a first year student as well, after some thought, but still!

Nope. A second look confirmed it. They were crazy enough to put her up against him.

Ok, calm down, it was just a spar, it wasn't like it was an actual figh-

"Alright, since it's friday, and we have a competition coming up, how about we do something a bit different. Everyone! We'll be going all out as if this were an actual competition."

Ami's eyes widened, and she started looking around. Maybe ditching this practice would be for the best. No wait, wasn't Jiro supposed to have a temper? She didn't really know him well, different classes and all, but some people reacted poorly to running away.

On the bright side, she had plenty of time to come to peace with her impending hospital stay. They would be the last matchup. Maybe if she just lost quickly they could get it over with... It shouldn't be all that hard for him to knock her down a few times and win...

Right, the solution was to just get this over with as quickly as possible.

Jiro emerged like a snarling beast into the Boxing area. He always enjoyed absolutely scaring the fuck out of whoever he got to beat the tar out of. Not to mention, he was already prepared for the fight. Because that's what it was in his mind. A fight, not a match and certainly not a spar.

"Who's my next victim!?"

He let out a cackle as he waltzed over to the instructions that Coach had left...

"Ami Yukimura!? Come on down! You've won our best prize!"

He roared out the announcement. No idea who it was really. Not that it mattered anyway. She or he would be out like a light in no time. Oh yes, Jiro was very much the top of the food chain here and he knew it to boot.

"M-me" Ami timidly raised a hand as she stepped into the ring, and settled into a stance more suitable for fighting, gloved fists up and at the ready. He would probably find it absurdly easy to scare her, at least openly, considering she shrank away from so much as a glare.

"Ready? Good. Luck." She gulped, expression shifting into one of determination, even if it was a little... weak, to say the least. "This is so unfair." The girl whispered, clearly ready to get this over with quickly.

But she still had to put up a fight, at least a little. Land one hit. That would be a good goal. Just one hit and she would be able to at least say she had fought back. She was a boxing club member! Even if it was mostly for the exercise, she had to at least put some effort into it, no matter how skewed the match might be.

A sudden low, gentle laugh in her head disrupted her concentration. "Oh this is going to be amusing..."

Huh? What was going to be amusing. There was nothing at all amusing about getting beaten up completely legally!

His eyes flitted to the girl. Examining her briefly.

"No fun. Ring, now."

Jiro then turned and quickly made his way toward the ring. Total fucking mismatch if he'd ever seen one. He had a full foot on her at least, and the weight as well. So he made his way into the ring. Practicing a few jabs here and there. Popping the neck muscles by rolling his head back and forth.

"Come on Shorty. Let's get this mismatch over with."

His tone implied that this wasn't even worth his time. He felt it wasn't really, sure he Nulled Phys. There was just something about seeing the look on a guy's face when he punched Jiro and Jiro started smiling.

"A-alright.." She followed close behind him, fairly surprised. Alright, so he recognized the clear problems with this as well, which meant... He was also going to be going with getting it over with quickly.

Excellent.

"Seriously why do you find this amusing?"

You shall see.

"Completely unhelpful as always."

Stepping into the ring, she dropped into a boxing stance and let out a quick pair of punches into the air with surprising speed and accuracy.

"Ready when you are...." Eyes filled with resignation, she kept her distance for a bit. Alright, time to start. This couldn't be too bad really.

Jiro, ever the aggressor decided that he would go on the offense. Being a foot taller gave him considerable reach, So he started with a few jabs to the face. Followed by a body shot aimed straight at her gut.

How boring.

Oh he was coming at her. She raised her arms defensively against the first jab to the face, barely managed to hit the second out of the way with a defensive blow of her own, and took the third jab to the face, plus the gut shot, head on.

....and remained standing, completely unharmed.

What the heck? Shocked, she stumbled backwards anyway and quickly let out a slight grunt of pain to mask her confusion, though her expression would make it clear something was up.

"Hrmph, we cannot be harmed by something so physical and mundane. You are perfectly safe. Though you were never really worried to begin with. Were you."

Well that explained Leanan Sidhe's amusement. The girl refused to answer though, focusing on the situation.

It made this match somewhat unfair, but slanted in the other direction, so far as she knew.

Shaking her head, Ami advanced, suddenly jumping forward in an attempt to get close enough to attack, and leveling a flurry of blows of her own at Jiro, aiming a left right left series of punches directly at his gut before suddenly following up with a blow aimed up towards his jaw.

New plan: play defensively and occasionally test his defenses. Look to wear him out using her immunity to physical attacks and then strike when he gets sloppy.

What the fuck.

There was no way this little girl could have taken a gut hit like that. Jiro was so damn confused that he simply stood there, with a confused look on his face.

Oh I like her!

You like everything with the female anatomy.

I art thou, thou art I.

Shut up.

Oh she was hitting him? How many times now? Well...at least this would ramp up her fear right? Had to be some sort of adrenaline rush for her to power through the gut shot. Then came the jaw hit. Sure it was enough for his head to turn, but not enough that he couldn't ever so slightly turn his head back to look at her while the glove was connected. Smile maniacally, and have a similar look in his eyes. His retaliation was to throw an uppercut, straight at her chin. This hit should put her down and out.

Wha- the punch came practically out of nowhere, during a period when he should have been defending or reeling from her blows. Sure he was larger and such, but she had hit him head on with fairly considerable force! He hadn't even tried to defend himself! His gloved fist slammed into her chin with the full force of a powerful uppercut that went right underneath her raised fists. ...And she still felt nothing.

Well, she could certainly tell she had been hit, for one it still forced her head upwards a fairly considerable amount, and she once more stumbled backwards to try to make it look like it had done SOMETHING, but it wasn't disorienting or painful. It was no worse than being tapped on the shoulder really. The look he gave her during her own attack though, maniacal, amused. She flinched away from that, instinctively shielding her face from more hits rather than trying to press the attack again.

Alright, something weird was going on, and it wasn't just her own resilience to attacks.

She full on took an uppercut!?

Oh I really like her.

Right, she had messed up and flinched! Jiro decided that now was the time to take advantage and unleash a furious flurry of body blows. Left, right, hook, jab. It didn't matter. He had to knock this girl off her feet.

Could she...No way.

You never know. Maybe she Nulls Phys! Oh she's so hot if she Nulls Phys!
