Conan stumbled, the darkness spell eating into his back. He turned, and snarled. Two enemies, one unharmed. He shoved his flask into his pocket, and stood to his full two-meter height. Drawing breath, he roared over the music: "Goliath!" The librarian cast Rampage. And his persona was behind him. The bloody giant filled the hallway completely, stooping to fit, struggling to find space in the enclosed area. It manifested sideways, its legs and one arm terminating against the wall in pools of blood that dripped down and then rejoined. Its great, multi-faceted eyes swept over the enemies and it struck. The first blow came toward the maya that had ignited Jiro. Then the persona pulled itself along the hall, more tide than living thing, as much insect and beast as man. It struck twice at the coiling darkness, once with its manifested arm, and then -- shoving that arm into a pool of blood against the wall to free the other -- bringing its other arm into play to strike a second time. |

The fire was out....oh thank God the fire was out. That was when the Mudoon hit and he felt a brand new sort of pain. The Mudoon, combined with the previous Agi. Caused Jiro to scream in a pitch he didn't think was possible. He couldn't see, couldn't feel. Why couldn't he just pass out? Kamina, had to summon Kamina. Bash everything, Bash anything. So that's what he did. Summoning the blue haired man to strike at anything near the caster. What it would hit, he had no idea. He just knew pain. |

The Maya was long gone under the overwhelming force. The Stygian Dreamer however proved far more resilient, most notably ripping under the rampage and barely flinching at the bash. It responded with a virus wave, a great miasma and shockwave after the impact of slamming its bulk against the ground. Fortunately it was a physical type attack. Meanwhile, relatively safely away, Mia did as she was suggested. Donning the mask and out of nowhere she appeared, floating before her. Vibrant and full of life and staring down at her with verdant eyes. There is no time for fancy introductions. I am Lif. I am the first of many. This too shall pass… She didn't quite follow. So, Lif was a Persona? The word just spontaneously came to mind. Where? Mia did not know, but she knew of her capabilities, somewhat. It could heal. Something she requested of it at once. It could also somewhat mitigate the frailties with a spell called Rakukaja. Beyond this? It was clear, she could rely on her own wits. And sometimes, others. She peeked out of the room to see just what was happening with the fight. No doubt it was still raging, but she didn't know who yet had the upper hand… "Everyone alright?" Obviously, it wouldn't do for that Shadow to win, if she could have tipped the favor with her abilities, she would have. |

The Virus Wave washed over Conan with no ill effect other than making his clothes smell foul. It appeared to be rather durable, though whether that was just a general sort of durability or it had an actual resistance to physical damage, he didn't know. Conan lunged at the inky black thing and charged his fingers with a physical break. He wasn't going to risk it being resistant to his assault. |

The answer was of course, no. Not in the case of the young man with the glasses from…wait, now that she's thinking about it, weren't those replicas of something from an anime? That fact, while very interesting, was not very useful at that very moment. What did her train of thought go like before? Yes, yes, now she remembered. The huge guy didn't seem to be having any trouble. But she still didn't know a thing about her situation. She did know what she could have done. She bolted out from her safe point and grabbed the boy. "Here! This way! I'll I mean I can heal you!" A cooperative effort was definitely the right idea here. She intended to drag him off to safety, and use a couple of those…Dia spells? To help tend to his injuries. However she did see the blob thing was preparing to attack with that dark attack again, she couldn't afford to take that, good intentions or no. If he wasn't quick about it, she had to choose her and get to cover while leaving him to do the same for himself. She fell lock-step with working with these two she'd never met before. But of course that only made sense. It wasn't like she could ask just what happened until after that threat was dealt with, right? Meanwhile, the Stygian Dream was at the moment unaware it was robbed of some of it's protection, it simply attacked with another Mudoon. |

Conan growled when the attack hit, and staggered backwards. Rage boiled in his skull and he bared his teeth behind the faceplate of his mask. He found himself standing next to the boombox, and picked it up. The massive stereo was broad enough to sit comfortably on his shoulders, and equally heavy. For this reason, it made an excellent bludgeon. ~ ~ ~, his persona signaled in his head. It had yet to speak, but he could feel the bestial thing's happiness, the joy it felt when carnage was afoot. It made him feel alive. He charged it with bash, and raised it up. With a roar, he brought it down on the shadow, just as he had with the Maya. |

((OOC: Upon Exodin's request, his turn shall be skipped again.)) "Here, is that better?" She used a Dio on Jirro in the relative safety, and then, a second one, just to be sure. It was interesting, as she stopped to think about it. Just how much of a difference a little power made in her outlook. Just brute strength alone, but once she felt she was in control of her own destiny, even in such a small, indirect way? It acted as a guiding point for Mia. The first rung on a ladder that lead…who knows where? But she wanted to ascend it. Meanwhile, the Stygian Dreamer was gone, destroyed by the titanic impact of Conan's onslaught. She dared to peer out and confirm it with her own eyes. She breathed a sigh of relief now that it was gone. The first step was taken care of thanks to help: Immediate survival. She'd probably need to lean on the two for the equally important long-term survivability, too. "Okay so…" She pulled off the mask and Lif vanished, as though she were never there. The relationship between mask and Persona was noted, and she turned from where it was to look at Jiro. "Can you tell me just what's going on? How did I get my house to here? Just where are we?" |

Conan hit the power button on the boombox. Best to save its batteries, he figured, and discussions were generally easier without Iron Maiden blaring through these darkened hallways. The girl had apparently been whisked out of bed -- as could be guessed from her pajamas -- and was feeling lost and confused. She didn't seem to be panicking, thought, which was good. Dealing with other people's panic wasn't exactly Conan's strong suit: unless they were overwhelmed by the ways in which filing worked in the library, he was at a loss. He removed his mask, working the screws to remove the faceplate and taking a deep breath, approaching the two young people. Apparently, the boy didn't respond well to being set on fire, and Conan felt a measure of sympathy. Not a great one, after all: one had to be prepared for such things. The question had been directed at the boy, and Conan didn't feel the need to cut in, though he did notice that the girl spoke with an American accent. Either she was from America, or perhaps she had learned Japanese from an American English speaker. Who knew, though. |

"Well...I don't feel like passing out anymore. So it's a start." He wobbily stood back up, forcing a grin at the girl. "Now then. Let's keep the questions until we're out of here yeah? Promise to walk you home and everything." He shook his head. Trying to chuckle but ending up being interrupted by a coughing fit. "Don't get along with fire very well. Ha...so come on then. Let's get the fuck out of here." He turned to Conan. "Gonna have to ask you to take the next Agi alright Big Guy?" It should be quite obvious to the other two that he was putting on a show of being fine. In reality he felt like he could fall over at any minute. "Right...stairs are this way!" He gestured in the direction of the stairs and began to shakily take steps toward them. "By the way? I'm going to need that knife back after we get out of here. Don't worry, I know a guy that can make you your own." |

The Stygian Dreamer, when all that was said and done, was reduced to an ebony knot of lusterless metal. A curiosity that persisted after the shadowstuff was long gone. "Yeah, sure, guess I'm just borrowing it." She put on the mask again, Lif returned once more and used her Dia spells on Jiro. She noticed the music stopped, and that gave her pause to look out again. "So, thanks for everything." She was grateful, but also remarkably even-voiced. She was buoyand again, and better still, she wasn't alone. There was hope of getting out of here with these people, and lessons to be learned. Actually, now that she looked, she recognized the massive man. "Mister Wells?" The librarian at school, right? There was evidently something more about this town than just strange characters, weren't there? "Please, lead the way out? I'm kind of at a loss here…" |
