Aleph smiled. The other boy seemed all right, and the new girl seemed awfully cheerful. Her name was Mia Sato, apparently, and she was new transfer student. Dang, how many transfer students were there? What with all the foreign exchange students and all that mess? "Nice to meet you, Mia-san." Aleph said, smiling. "I'm Akira Serizawa. But you can call me Aleph. I'm a first year." Aleph listened to the Drama Club president. It seemed like they were going to be practicing some scripts for a little while. "I wonder what kind of scene we'll be reading today." He said, then turned to the other boy. "What's your name, by the way? My name's Akira Serizawa. But if you wanna, you can call me Aleph." |

First Impressions? Mia liked first impressions, wandering in cold into a completely new situation sounded like a lot of fun to her, honestly. She shined when Yuuki loved her over, she offered a smile. Inwardly she was wandering what was his problem. Was he sickly maybe? She'd need to keep that in mind for later. For now, she turned to Aleph, with that same big, friendly smile. "Aleph? Sure, I'll have to keep that in mind." She looked around, as those were pairing off. "If it's the same with you two, maybe we should do a reading together?" Oh, god, all these new people, and now they were going to read who knows what? This was like Christmas for Mia. Which reminded her…there Christmas was more a time to spend with your significant other and eat KFC for whatever reason…right? |

It was like Mia didn't have to ask, as the helper passing out scenes considered them a group of three. Yuuki looked down at the page packet with mock disdain. "Dibs on not being the second girl." No consideration at all. This vaguely romantic script was between a man being confronted by his two girlfriends. And while that two-thirds ration usually fit the typical demographics of the Drama club it didn't matter how the group was actually formed once the scripts were passed out. Suffice to say Yuuki had been tired of having to be the extra girl the past times he'd seen this script. Either balance out groups for the activity or get new scripts. |

Apparently, they were doing a romance script together. Just what had possessed the Drama president to have them do this, Aleph had no idea whatsoever. Especially since the scene they were about to read had two female characters, but the other boy and Aleph only had one girl, which was Mia. Well, shit. Guess you gotta be the girl again since you suck at being the boyfriend. I have Shizuka-chan for a girlfriend. I can play a boyfriend perfectly. Yeah, that long-distance relationship thing and lack of getting laid is giving you so much experience, all right. Fuck you. Of course, Adonis had to be an idiot about it and ridicule Aleph for always ending up having to be girly for his own sake. First, there were the few times he had cross-dressed. Now, he had to act like a girl, too. "So, which roles are ya'll gonna pick?" Aleph asked. |

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, we could compromise and I'd play the boy." Mia offered, with a teasing smirk. She moved down the script quickly, glancing away and ohhhh…oooh this was good. She couldn't hide how pleased she was to have this be their scenario for now. "But since you already called the boy, I guess I can be the second girlfriend? The previously unknowing other woman? Sounds about right." From what she'd seen in the dialogue, the girl had quite a sharp tongue to her. |

"I meant..." Yuuki began. Damn-it. He'd meant no female characters but that had been a loophole left in the phrasing that could prove deadly in Debate. Though from Mia's smirk and her next recanting it looked like she was just teasing. "I'd like the be the boy, yes. That would leave you as the first girl," he said to Aleph. "That'll be your line to start with when she comes to recognize the second girl." |

Well, guess Aleph was going to have to be the girl. Again. Of course you have to be the girl again. You're always the hot airhead chick when it comes to rehearsals like these. Why don't you put on some makeup and a skirt while you're at it? Man, fuck you, Adonis. Just because I don't object to wearing girl's clothes doesn't mean I actually like wearing girl's clothes. Okay? Just fuck you. Well, maybe that's because wearing chick clothing isn't all that bad. In fact, it might be a hell of a lot funnier if you wanna fuck with people. Just pretend you're a girl and hit on dudes just to trick them. Fuck you. I would never do that. Especially hit on dudes. Dude, I am you. I know for a fact that you don't give a shit whether it's with a guy or a girl. As long as you get laid, anything goes. ...you will never let that sex with Shizuka-chan thing die, will you? Ah ha ha ha. Nope. Adonis, I hate you so much. Really Aleph did. His Persona was just so damn annoying sometimes. He just never shut up about Shizuka, Aleph thought. Always making Aleph feel guilty for not making a move on her when he had the chance. Always belittling him and humiliating him and--wait, what was Aleph doing? Goddammit, Adonis! You made me forget what I was doing with your fucking douchebaggery and shit. You were being the girl, remember? Oh, right. Aleph was reading the role of the first girl, and the first girl had came to recognize the second girl. From what he read so far, the girl seemed totally innocent and vulnerable. He could pull that off, right? "Wait." Aleph said. "Do I start or someone else does?" |

"Look, let's start here, I'll go with line…twenty-seven?" Now that everyone was more or less satisfied with their roles, she quickly skimmed the dialogue for the second girl beginning there and the lines that followed. Huh, it seemed her role was domineering, going by the things she'd say to him if the young man Yuuki were playing was an actual person in this situation? She'd have felt really bad for him. But he wasn't, which was a huge load of her conscience! She tried her best to get into the character's head, the second girl? What had happened to her had just dawned on her, and she wasn't going to take it lying down. No sir, she wasn't. Mia stood a little straighter, and put a hand on her hip, a lot of minor adjustments to her posture suggested an attitude that definitely wasn't there before. She practically glared daggers at Yuuki as she read the line with a distant, icy voice. "Just who the hell is she?" She motioned to Aleph with her hand that held the script at strode towards him not unlike the way a lion did towards a hobbled zebra. "I guess you thought you were pretty smooth huh? Have yourself a harem like those mangas you like so much? Well let me tell you, it's not gonna happen." Whomever wrote this script should have gone into Soap Operas. |

What did I just tell you? Yuuki sighed internally. Those that didn't listen might as well not show up. Luckily Sato decided to jump into the fray of things. As she suddenly begin ripping into Yuuki's character, as per the script, his eyes widened in genuine surprise. She seemed apt at playing different emotions on cue. That wide-eyed surprise led into the changes in Yuuki's composure as I got into character. "Ahh, C-Chico-chan, I-I." Good stutter. His shoulders tensed, he tried to back away from Sato without moving his feet. "I-I w-was trying to tell you earlier, at the f-fountain about--" His head darted between the two, channeling that nervousness of a man being caught between two questioning women and not knowing which to answer first. He looked to Serizawa, addressing him in character. "Emi-chan, this is Choriko, s-she was the party coordinator that helped design the gala. Your company had the founding anniversary coming up so I thought..." Now all they were waiting on was 'Emi' Serizawa to not buy the excuse and get into a jealous rage for 'her' fiance seeing another woman. The script suggested casting Choriko as the prettier woman but given what they had to work with for this exercise that wasn't a difficult problem. |

Alright, everybody was jumping into the fray. From what Aleph read over the script, it seemed as though whoever wrote it had a real fondness for Soap Operas. The scenario almost reminded Aleph of one of those soap operas on NHK, which was probably for all Aleph knew Japan's version of public access TV. So, what was Aleph doing? Oh, right! Being a girl. Aleph looked at the script, then proceeded to go into character by assuming a narrow, angry expression at the other boy as he finished his line. "So you thought you could just...fool around with this woman behind my back?" 'She' said with venom in 'her' voice, sounding awfully feminine. Holy shit, you actually sounded like a girl there. What, have your balls not dropped low enough? Shut the fuck up, Adonis. I'm trying to be in character here. |
