The closest Yuuki had gotten to martial arts and it wasn't real kung fu. Just a spot of warm up exercises sometimes used, one prone to more improvised styles. The things had many names, many variations, and around here the top contenders were 'Shitty Kung Fu Movie' when there wasn't a teacher around or 'Hee-YAH!!' because that's what you were shouting most of the time. Yuuki liked more of the long form exercises himself but admittedly this was a good way to loosen up. Up until the tempo got two fast and you were knocked out for missing the timing. There was the invisible 'punch' that was thrown about. First you caught it, then the two standing on either side of you had to 'karate chop' your sides, then you tossed the 'punch' to another player while screaming your lungs out. People often had variant attacks they called out just to trip you up. Rounds continued eliminating those that didn't pay attention until there was only three left, because you had to pay attention in this exercise. Even if you were not a target of a punch you had to support the target you were right next to with a 'karate chop.' At least at the begining it was slower. Because if Yuuki played this for too long he might faint. He caught the punch and the people on either side of him bent in syncronized chopping movements, which let him toss the punch to another target. Yuuki leveled both arms towards Mia Sato. "HAAH!!" |

Aleph was one of those three people, practicing the exercise routines for the apparently shitty kung fu movie that the Drama Club was going to be acting for, apparently. Right now, Aleph was engaged in an exercise with two other people, one a blond boy and the other a petite-looking girl. He didn't know either of them, but at least he was attending the club for once, so that was a good thing. Aleph levelled one arm towards the blonde boy. "YAAH!!" |

This was good. This was welcome to Mia as coming back home, and even more familiar. They had their own names for it at home, but shitty kung fu movies were amongst them, yes. With a gasp, she was 'struck' by it, selling the act fully. Her hands stretched out, she gasped, she reeled back. Her eyes closed and brows furrowed in concentration her hands moved quickly and in precise motions. A coherent ball. Call it Ki, or q'ui or whatever, but clearly it was much too much for her to handle alone. Even with the help of the people besides her buoying her. That's not to say all these motions were slow, or lackadaisical. She did it all fairly quickly. It was over and resolved quicker than when Yuuki sent it to her, the time was always a little shorter between them, right? Had to keep your reflexes up, and pay attention and flow readily for that exercise. "HAAAAH!" She picked the next person with no one special in mind, just letting the exercise continue. After Sato's punch bounced around some more Yuuki was targeted again. "HAH!!" That nearly throat wrenching shout was a sign of just how far he had gotten into what was supposed to be a simple exercise. It messed up the timing of his delivery of the continuing 'punch' has he had gone off balance, causing him to sway and topple into one of the newcomers. All the time thinking more about how this knocked him out of the round, rather than the collision. |

So the exercise was continuing. That was good. Aleph had to keep up with the others, lest he risked getting knocked out of the round. Plus, it was rather fun. So, Aleph aimed yet another 'punch' at the blonde boy. "HAH!" |

So the 'punch' moved on. Meanwhile Mia had sunk into the character. It didn't matter that there was so little to work with. She filled in details in her own mind. Or that there was no rhyme or reason she filled in the narrative in her own mind. It was mainly just practice of a different sort, but to let her imagination run wild? That was good practice as well. She quickly shifted, bolstering those adjacent from her when needed. But for sure, the pacing of this ritual was going faster. What was her best record in this? Ah…now that she thought about it, she couldn't have even remembered. She was satisfied with the results, though. |

Back to him, passed on again, bounce, bounce, back to him again, bounce, back to him again... "Augh!" Yuuki missed the timing, growing exhausted with the rapid returns. "Enough with the tag-backs." He took a few bitter steps back. Overall he knew the game was kind of stupid but the action always got him fired up and then irked when he invariable got struck out. |

Aleph took a few steps back. "Sorry." Overall, the whole exercise was turning out to be quite fun. Aleph continued delivering his 'punches' to his oppenents. --- After a while, Aleph finally found a chair to sit down and rest on. It was quite a long exercise and it took a lot of energy, it seemed. Nevertheless, it was fun. Aleph turned to the blonde boy. "That was great, wasn't it?" He asked. |

"Yeah…" She was feeling really good. It was always a silly little exercise. That's how it was there in Nagashima, and that's how it was back home too. The familiarity of it was a real big appeal to Mia, and had her in high spirits. She also noted Yuki, who seemed to have a bit of trouble keeping up there. "Hey, Are you okay? Rough day?" And to both of them, and to others who cared, she introduced herself. "Oh, pleased to meet you. My name is Mia Sato. I'm a new transfer!" Surely that introduction is something that she'd never have to do again with anyone present! |

Yuuki squinted. It was the newer girl to the school. New people were always scrutinized via the first impressions from them. Which Yuuki did more during the times he had just moved somewhere more they seeing newcomers to what school he was at. "Not especially tiring," Yuuki said, shrugging. "Newcomers," the leader said, which led to talks about trading up short scripts again to do practices. Looked to be that there was going to be no plans for any longer theatre sets. "Right, that means two or three reading a scene," Yuuki explained, praying he didn't end up with any embarrassing scenes. |
