"There you go, Seiji-kun." She was about to ask where his sense of spontinaity was but...

...but...

...don't break character...

Another brief frown left her face, as she turned her focus only to the 'mystery' of Seiji's own nightly travel. Escaping into it almost.

"So..." she began, stretching out the thought of the possibilities of why Seiji was strapped down with the weaponry. Smuggling? Odd hours training? Underground dueling. "...are you into the live action roleplaying?" she settled on, which seemed the most harmless and fit Seiji's apparent not too violent nature.

Hmm? Roleplaying? He waved of her question quickly. "Hmm? Oh, no, no. Nothing like that. It's not like I'm some Otaku or something." He quickly followed that up with. "They're y'know, for protection."

That was a pretty weak explanation, but Seiji was doing his best to think on his toes. He was trying to formulate an alternate destination…there was that sort of dodgy ramen shop, right? They were heading in that direction and at least the food was good, of what he heard.

Yeah, that could work…under the pretense of meeting friends there, they eat and part ways when the 'friends' are no-shows?

"Actually, I'm gonna go meet some people. That's my place to be. You can come if you want, I don't think anyone's gonna mind. Gonna get some food, too. No idea why they like that place so much…"
Oh, that worked. Now that he had some fictional scapegoats, it could have been their reason he was out wandering the backstreets at that hour. He hoped that'd have held up to Inarii's scrutiny.

"Protection, huh?" Iseya thought of her own methods. Pepper spray and taser quick to be on hand, small clubs. They hadn't been easy to get but were worth it for the portability. There had been...close scraps in times past. The first time one had actually been used in an old town she had lived in...

...stop it. Again...

...memories yet again blocked because it wouldn't be worth it to bring them up. Not difficult but too, irregular. She fell into step alongside Seiji. "A full crossbow and bolts might be dandy, though with it in your duffel you'll have an easier time just using it to knock someone over."

"Some of your friends then. That's cool." Something about groups actually stymied more intense scruitiny, she'd found, though she was comfortable enough exercising this personality. Seiji seemed to be more on edge than her. "I could eat something, maybe."

"Well, maybe…" Technically it was totally true the weapons were for self defense. Just not on the backstreets, even if he probably needed them.

As he lead her, the destination and the way there became much more clear in his mind. Perhaps it was safe to be a smartass? "You know? Normally I only ask red-headed girls to go eat with me after knowing them so little…" Though on the subject of readheads, he wondered what Suzu would have thought of this whole scene?

Probably a lot of pointing, and laughing, actually.

Anyways, he took her down an alley studded with signs for businesses built into the little niche, including the one for the ramen shop.

"Well aren't you the player. You always taking girls on dates in the dead hours of the night, Mr. Romantic?" Though she was messing with him Iseya was not flirting. His deal to bring up his preferences. She was playing along mostly to figure out just what all Seiji was into, possibly where he had gotten a crossbow in the first place. But it looked as if that would take time. So she could wait.

She pulled a lock of hair out in front of her eyes. "I've been thinking of getting some color, red streaks, although I could dye my whole hair red. Then you'd have to invite me everywhere."

"Oh, absolutely." He said, flatly. "Party every night, sleep every day." Though somewhat more seriously he added to Inari's question. "I don't know. It depends on what you think works for you."

He stepped up into the stool at the ramen shop. "I'll have what she's having. I'll also pay." It was his idea, and he had the disposable income to not even mind. So with that in mind, the woman behind the counter turned to Inari to wait what she wanted.

"Don't say that Seiji-kun you're going to make me tired." Not to say Iseya wasn't already tired. Every night like this had the low energy and unconscious succumbing threat of sleep as tension in the background, waiting for any time for her to be inactive. She still played with the hair. "Streaks are cool, if you've got the right color."

Though that raised the question of whether a wig could take hair color, it would have to be done herself and not from any salon for...

Iseya blinked, scrutinizing the ramen shop counter. Great, whatever sleaze open this time of night where she couldn't be sure of what they served.

"Plain noodles in hot water. No, not even chicken broth." She kept her eyes level at the cook until he submitted to the order, then glanced in Seiji's direction. Free food, any time of not having to pay was always a score but...while it might have been funny to see Seiji's reaction to having to swallow the blandest of bland...

"You don't have to get that too."

"I can't honestly say I've ever considered it." Of course not! That would have been unorthodox. Besides, that was something much easier for young women than young men. Not even worth entertaining thoughts of in his position.

His reaction to her order was mild surprise. But given his position, he wasn't about to make many waves about it. It was definitely odd, but he wasn't going to comment beyond. "Well, that's some diet."

For his own order? "Ah, just give me a tonkotsu bowl, then?"

The cook quirked a brow at Iseya's order, but got to it without the need to say anything.

"It's not a diet," Iseya said, mildly exasperated. She shrugged off her bag to the ground and rested her back against the counter. "Not what you'd think. Not worried about ounces in kilograms at all."

She looked up to see how the few city lights reflected back to here. "You dine here often then?"

"I see." Just what did that mean, exactly? Probably that there were just some things Inari couldn't eat. Allergies, maybe? Wasn't really his place to speculate, was it?

At the question of if he ate thee much, he was honest. "Really? Not much, referenced here, after all." With the 'friends' who were going to prove to be no-shows. In truth, he'd seen the place once or twice in his own travels and happened to overhear it was pretty good by people who frequented the back streets.

"So, are you new to town, Iseya-san?"

Meanwhile, there were at least encouragingly savory smells coming from the shop then.
