"Well, Mr. Lightning-In-A-Bottle-kun," Iseya began to continually mess with him, "it doesn't sound like you have anything not unremarkable in there. Sounded clunky and metallic just a moment ago. What are you worried about with me knowing, I'm just curious." She lowered her backpack and unzipped it. "Here, let me show you my gear, show I'm true to my word." Most everything was loaded in the main compartment. There was her portable speaker, a few cans of different colored spray paint, a few backup pepper sprays mixed in with those, the truncheon, a high powered flashlight... "And this beaut," Iseya said, fully revealing her taser, "is what keeps the wackos at bay. Two settings, both up close and one mid range shot. But you seem like a nice guy, Seiji-kun, so you shouldn't worry about it." Just in case he would be up to anything fishy later, this promised the threat of her main line of defense being much more accessible than whatever he had in the duffle. "Wouldn't want you to live up to your epithet, Lightning-In-A-Bottle-kun." |

He adjusted his glasses, a sure tell he was pretty nervous as his frames actually were a comfortably snug fit. She'd gone ahead and showed him anyways. And it wouldn't do to just…walk off. With a heavy sigh he let the bag fall to the ground. "Ah, I've got this?" He was pretty mindful of the threat implied with the taser, and took pains to lift the katana, which he decided should have been called Akagami-no-hime. out, still in it's sheathe. "Yeah, so I've got ah…this." Eh, what did it really matter? It wasn't like he was going to encounter Iseya again or something. She went to another school than Taiyotono, and something else strange was likely to happen the next day to have her completely forget about the bookish young man wandering the back streets with antiquated weaponry. "Sweet sword, Seiji-kun," Iseya said. "You must be a pretty badass swordsman with that thing." It interested her but she knew she probably wouldn't have the stamina to keep a katana held aloft in battle. "That all you got in there?" She asked, knowing that it took more than one thing to jangle. |

"No, not really…" A few years of kendo combined with what little sword-training he was getting from a true 'badass swordsman' meant Seiji was pretty average by his own estimations, and that was being optimistic. Honestly? He probably should just bypass the training center completely and practice the techniques there. "I have a crossbow and arrows in here, too." He wasn't kidding, and his voice was completely serious. He wasn't sure how she'd take all that. Probably be amused. He prepared for follow-up questions. The worst part? He couldn't even give the perfectly reasonable explanation why because…well that damn city… Edited by Nonsequitur, Nov 17 2013, 12:28 PM.

"Modesty is a good thing to see in a man. Probably gets you ton of ladies." She didn't plan out these one liners but she was on roll. Seiji appeared to be easy to jostle. By no means was she flirting with him but that didn't stop Iseya with messing with him a little. "Crossbow huh? Nice. Guess it's easier than trying to secure a gun." Why was she talking weapons with a younger student in the middle of a dark alley? Well, it wasn't as if weapons talk in Nagashima was strange. If you kept your ears open there were enough whispers with folks needing this or that fixed. Seiji seemingly a part of that crowd. Not that Iseya had yet figured out what all the weapon-talkers were doing with their gear. It sounded like an underground Battle Royale scenario. "The specs you've got on that crossbow must be very tight. Any customization to that model?" she asked, curious. Now that sounded like something her speed. Long range weaponry, able to be built that you could set the bolts and bowstring without much strength, maybe even a kickstand to set up sniped shots if you couldn't hold it in two hands anymore. True Archery, well, that had just been a disaster. |

"Not really, no." If he was was a swordsman of note, it was solely by virtue of default. And that wasn't even the case, not in that city. It wasn't modesty, but more a steady assessment of his abilities at the time. "I'm sure you say that to all the strange guys you find with swords in the backstreets." Well when the question of the crossbow came up, he replaced his sword and brought that out. It was obvious it was a custom job, generally commercially made crossbows are made of fiberglass or wood, not metal. "Nothing special about it, fires standard grain arrows at a sixty-eight kilogram draw strength. It does have a windlass system to cock it easier though." He wasn't exactly enthusiastic about talking about weapons with girls he just met. "So, what's your given name, anyways, Iseya-san?" |

"I don't spend all my nights meeting guys in dark alleys. And be careful, Seiji-kun, that almost sounded gross." She was momentarily enraptured with the technical specs on the crossbow, mentally noting the information for later use. If someone like Seiji had managed to get one they couldn't be that hard to find and if the price was fair compared to what the earnings from the... ...job were... ...She shivered briefly, an involuntary action. Stop thinking about that. Catching Seiji's words in the next moment were like slamming on the brakes after speeding. "Inari," she said, "Iseya Inari. So really it wouldn't have mattered which one you guessed for when I gave you 'I' as a hint." |

"Eh, you know what I meant…" He rolled his eyes. Obviously, innuendo was the last thing on Seiji's mind. Just because a girl was in front of him did not cause him to take a few evolutionary steps back into the kind of chest thumbing howling idiot that has to say the first thing that came to mind regarding that female and her anatomy. …wait a goddamn minute. Wasn't she the one who already said 'show me yours and I'll show you mine?' Eh, he just didn't know how to handle a member of the fairer sex being coquettish or joking likely. As much fun as you're having? It'd probably be best if you left. You do have training to do, after all. "Well, Inari-san. Like I said? I got places. To be, so um, have fun out here. See you around, I guess." |

It was kind of funny watching Seiji fluster around for a little bit. As he was the only happening thus far tonight, and thankfully pacifistic compared to what kinds could be around Nagashima, Iseya considered him much more exciting like quantifying the amusement out of a new toy. "Leaving so soon? Well I've got nothing better to do so why don't I come with?" She shrugged on the backpack again. Even if Seiji was into deeper stuff than he first appeared she could split at the first sign of danger. But now she was curious and thus not letting him ditch so easily. |

What? Come with? No! No! He wasn't out here in the shitty backstreets for his health, and certainly not for kicks. Most of all, he didn't want a new companion for the evening. Someone not in the know just wandering around the training center whenever 'cause he brought her there was only going to end badly. "I dunno…" That sounded weak, and instead, he decided. "…well, I guess why not, Inari-san?" That meant finding a new destination somewhere no where near the training center, but sure it seemed like the best idea. |
