"Yeah..." Iemoto replied distractedly - he hadn't been able to keep his thoughts from drifting towards the chaotic moments of his life, after he'd learnt Seiichi's true nature and before he'd gone monster. These days without sleep, without company, without any goal worth speaking of... he hadn't been able to put that behind him, not yet.

"When'd ya decide t' try sushi-makin' out, anyways?" The question snapped him back to reality, and he couldn't help but give a slight smile. "Eh, in fact... You know, a handful of nights ago, I ordered sushi from my local sushi place. I was a bit tired, y'see. So when I got what I had ordered, I told myself "Damn, I'm good with knives, I should be good at cutting fish up !" The next day, I was buying sushi rice, spices and fish." he explained.

"Just one o' those moments o' inspiration, eh? That works," Kyo said. "Me, I'll be honest, I was lookin' t' get some cookin' skill 'cause I had t'be livin' on my own Hiroko, yeah... but the main reason I asked Ed t' teach me is, well, it was an excuse t' spend time with 'im." She scratched her cheek. "That sounds like it could be misinterpreted, now that I think on it. What I mean is, Ed was a bit of a hard guy t' approach, even if he was chill with ya. He had this sorta 'tsundere' way about 'im, like he didn't want no one too close or knowin' about his better side. So I... asked him t' teach me how t' cook so I'd have a reason t' hand around him a bit. Got real inta the actual cookin' thing once I'd got into it, though. Funny how that happens, yeah?"

The green-haired girl tilted her head back, frowning a bit. What else did she know about Iemoto...? Well, they'd been to his place once, but she hadn't taken particular care to look around and didn't remember much of what it was like when she had. There had been so many of the Archangels present at that time that they sort of distracted from the environment.

"Besides sushi-cookin', though, you do anything else in your spare time? Hobbies and whatnot? I got a fair few, myself," Kyo said. "Besides cookin', I mean."

Excuses to spend time with people... Hadn't Iemoto's proposal of a food-run been an excuse to spend some time with his fellow Archangel ? He rejected that idea as silly as soon as it materialized in his mind - weren't the entire point of food-runs to spend time with people ? Yeah, he didn't have to regret anything. "Yeah, kinda." He didn't know this Edward dude from Adam, anyway, but he caught himself wondering if his disappearance had affected Kyo more than she let on.

"Well, I don't get a lot of spare time in the first place, and..." he started, his expression shifting to a much more sour one for an instant. "...I don't get a lot of spare time because I don't wanna get a lot of it. 'Cause when I do, my mind starts to drift towards places I'd rather avoid." he continued in a tone that had gotten more monotone and deeper, like it'd been a few months before. "So I keep my mind occupied all the time. And when I get back home, I'm more often than not too tired to think about anything. But that's fine. That's what I want."

It took the teenager an instant to realize just how sudden the whiplash had probably been to Kyo - when he did, he gave her an apologetic look. "Uh... I don't have many hobbies aside from that. I read manga and I play videogames, I guess."

Kyo rubbed a hand through her hair, mussing it a bit, a look coming over her face that was something between annoyance and I feel ya, bro. If there was any sign of whiplash there, she didn't show it--more than anything, she just slipped into the role of listening to troubled thoughts like a glove at this point.

"Yeah," she said. "Yeah, it's kinda--kinda not that different for me. If I'm bored my Persona gets t' chatterin' or it usedta be that my Shadow would, which I guess is just a magic-assisted version o' the same. And even before that, I was always doin' somethin' or other or tryin' t' find somethin' excitin' t' do or good food t' eat or gettin' drunk or whatever. When I wasn't doin' stuff I'd start thinkin' all this bitter shit, so I stopped thinkin' and got movin', I guess."

She brightened up then, and said, "I've got my fair share o' manga and I play vidya a lot, too! Kinda mostly all I can do at home right at the moment, that and catchin' up on all the toku I missed when I was a kid. What sorta stuff're ya into?"

"My Persona doesn't talk much... My Shadow doesn't either, thankfully, but it sure as hell likes to take me by surprise. Otherwise, I'm pretty much alone in my own head." Iemoto replied, scartching the back of his head and deciding on dropping this line of thought altogether. Yeah, Kyo got it perfectly - even if that line of thinking sounded like a headlong rush.

"Eh, toku... I tried watching some of it once or twice, but it always felt like I couldn't enjoy it since I wasn't a kid anymore. Too silly for me, I guess." he said, smiling lightly. "Otherwise... It's mostly horror stuff. Junji Ito for manga, Silent Hill and Biohazard for games and the like. I read Jojo, too. Fourth part's my favorite. Oh, and some fighting games as well." he said.

"Y'know I keep forgettin' Resident Evil's called 'Biohazard' here," Kyo said, scratching her nose. "I try t' recommend it t' people and I say, 'Oh, and y'know that new Resident Evil game' and they're like, 'What's Resident Evil' and I'm like, derp, sorry... meant Biohazard." She shrugged. "I just like the West's title for it better, even with those annoyin' R and L sounds in there."

Kyo tilted her head back, and frowned.

"And dang, that reminds me. I bought the first Silent Hill off the PlayStation Store ages ago and just forgot t' play it. I should prolly, like, actually do that sometime. I played it for like half an hour after downloadin' it, it seemed fun, but I got sidetracked by all this newer shit." Kyo scratched her nose. "I ain't read much Jojo. Eh, call me shallow, but I just, uh, I like art that's a more streamlined. Been havin' trouble with Shingeki no Kyojin for the same reason, actually, sorta find it easier t' stick with the anime. Anyway, horror games, eh?" Kyo glanced at Iemoto with interest. "I don't really like horror movies much. I'm not in it for scares, see, and the gory ones are just gross, why would I wanna watch that?"

Kyo paused, tilting her head to the side.

"There's a whole different kinda feel t' actually playin' through a horror situation, though," she said. "It's like, it's this tension and adrenaline thatcha don't get by just watchin' it. Y'sorta, you're more invested. You're not worried about what's around the next camera-pan, you're actually creepin' up t' the next corner and tryin' t' stay ready for whatever might be waitin' on the other side of it. Y'know?"

"Hmmm... Yes, perhaps "Resident Evil" sounds better, bit it's also a bit innapropriate for the later titles. I mean, it refers to the "resident evil" in the mansion, and we haven't seen it out of that actually decent DLC from 5." Iemoto replied. "But, well, I guess the lesson's "video game names are silly."" he added, shrugging his shoulders.

"The first Silent Hill's good ! I still think the best one's the second game, though. The series really reached its storytelling and ambiance peak with that one. It also looks really good for a 2001 game." Iemoto replied, giving a nod - 3 was also pretty good, and The Room had its moments, but he had that particular love for 2 and its themes. Pyramid Head was in it, too, and Pyramid Head was awesome.

"Good point - I do think that the future of horror lies in video games, too. But Silent Hill's different... the horror is as much visceral as it is psychological, you see ? That's why I love these games: they combine horror with instrospection."

Kyo couldn't help a slight, and very brief flicker of deadpan in her eyes when Iemoto tossed out the word "psychological." If she wanted psychological horror, she mostly just had to take a walk out to the woods and spend a bit of time in the ruins. But, yeah, for a videogame that sounded pretty interesting.

Not to mention safer.

"Well, I'll go through the first game first and the second game second," Kyo said with a shrug. "Only time I don't do that is for somethin' like Final Fantasy where the 'sequels' got nothin' t' do with each other. Silent Hill's got this overarchin' plot, right? Somethin' about a cult? Or m'I mixin' that up with another thing..."

"Yeah, it does have an overarching plot and basic lore, even though every game can be played individually. The first and third game have the strongest connections to each other, though. Perhaps they're even a bit too connected. But I'm not gonna go into spoilers." Iemoto replied, nodding his head in approval of Kyo's decision.

"Oh, yeah... I got a place in mind already, but d'you wanna go to a place in particular for the food ?" he asked, suddenly realizing that the point of the thing had originally been to go fetch food.

"Nah, I'm good for wherever," Kyo said, waving Iemoto's question off. "If I pick the place, I'll just pick somethin' boring like a burger place or somewhere with tacos. The most interestin' place I know is one Chuck took me to once. Uh--Charles Oliviera, I mean, y'know him? Well, if y'don't, ya should, he's a cool dude."

Kyo scratched her chin.

"He knows all the good eatin' places. Place he took me to was like this, this kinda-sorta like, this pizzeria/Mexican-food crossover place. There were two owners and they were arguin' half the time we were there over which o' the two we should get, pizza or Mexican. Chuck just ordered a big sampler plate of all their best stuff from both sides, heh."
