"My hobbies...?" Yuki seemed honestly surprised at such a question. He was not at all used to have a conversation focused on himself, let alone on someone being interested in knowing such things; more often than not, he flipped the tables to focus on the other person exclusively. No such luck that day. "Well, I like to cook, as you know... I also like helping people out, and I do some skateboarding every now and then." He raised his board a bit as if to confirm his own statement. "That's pretty much it, I'm sorry if it's not as interesting as expected." He said with a light laugh, smiling widely afterwards. "What about you?" He followed, while thinking about which drink to purchase. He would probably go with an original Ramune soda. |

"Well, it's good thatcha like t' cook, I'd hate t' think ya were in cookin' class with me outta some sense o' obligation! Or 'cause you're stalkin' me, that'd be creepy," Kyo said casually, at about the point they were halfway across the street. "I honestly only got inta cookin' 'cause there was this friend o' mine I wanted t' spend time with but he was a real grumpy-ass bastard, so all I could think of as an excuse was 'teach me how t' cook.' And then I wound up really likin' it." Kyo leaned sideways a bit to get a better look at Yuki's skateboard. "Hrm... maybe ya could teach me how sometime?" she asked. "I got good balance, so it shouldn't be that hard. Truth is I could use a better way t' get around, but I don't wanna ride a bike everywhere 'cause well... ahem..." The girl coughed into her fist, straightened up, and then said in a categorical-sounding voice, "My hobbies... apart from cookin', I play videogames, watch toku and anime, I do some parkour, and I'm in Photography class, too! It's not all I do, and lately I spend more time helpin' my friends out with this n' that than doin' any o' that stuff, but... yeah, I got my fair share o' stuff I like." There wasn't any need to mention the getting-drunk-and-having-rough-sex-a-lot part, especially not to someone of the opposite sex that she'd just met. Kyo figured she should at least try to be more discreet about that stuff than she usually was... |

Teach her. Teach her... Teach her. As such a request reached Yuki's ears, he seemed to be filled with overflowing cheerfulness, his grin going wide. "I've been looking for people to skate with!" Happiness dripped from his every pore, as well as relief. The place didn't have a skate park, and it was tough for him to find people willing to tag along in the first place. "I'll find you a spare board eventually." Letting his excitement tone down a tad, the grin diminished ever so slightly. He fought the urge not to let a laugh out at the bicycle reference, and merely nodded in acknowledgement. "I see... I've always been curious about videogames, but I rarely have the time to play them at all." Not that he particularly minded, it was just a fun way to waste some time. "Big family to cook for, and all." He briefly wondered how they were doing, and made it a point to call them later that day. |

"Well, we can make it a give-and-take thing," Kyo offered as she jogged a few paces ahead of Yuki and opened the door to the convenience store before he could get there first, idly holding the door open behind her after entering. "I'll show ya some choice games, and you help me with skateboardin'! I'll even letcha borrow some o' my systems and games sometime, so y'can try before ya buy. Prolly ain't that big a thing for someone with your sorta money, but still. Least I can do." Once Yuki was inside, Kyo let the door fall shut and made a beeline for the drinks aisle. "What sorta stories or things're ya usually into when ya watch movies or read books or whatever?" she asked. "That'll help decide what games t' show ya first." It may have struck Yuki as odd that the subject had turned so easily from making sure Yuki wasn't going to abuse or hurt Machi, to hanging out and trading hobbies. Kyo hardly thought anything of it. Considering she'd made friends with her boyfriend's abusive ex minutes after said ex had tried to murder her with wind magic, and the number of other people she'd made friends with that she'd had plenty of reason to hate before this... really, a little thing like an unwelcome arranged marriage was hardly a blip on the radar. Which said some terrifying things about her social life, when Kyo thought about it. |

"It'll be much appreciated." The boy said with a goofy grin while trying to keep the Kyoto-ben out of his speech for the most part, and walked into the store. He smiled a bit in gratitude after, before his gaze wandered around the store. "I have some more free time now, so." Yuki followed Kyo to the drinking aisle, and he carefully read each and every label to find the drink he desired the most. "Ramune original, Ramune original..." He muttered to himself while going through all of them. "What I like?" Now that was a tough question. He rarely actually got to do any of that, and so he actually took a moment to thing. "I guess my favorite genre is comedy? I guess funny games would be the way to go..." He loved to laugh, and to make people laugh as well, after all. The boy did notice such a change in behavior; but instead for getting that impression, he simply felt relieved. One less person who wanted his head on a plate. |

"Right there," Kyo said without thinking about it, pointing to the drink in question--she came to this convenience store so often after school that she probably could have found any food or drink item faster than the actual employees, if asked to. "Comedy, eh? I got a few ideas for whatcha could do about that." She opened up one of the refrigerators, snatching a cherry-flavored energy drink and closing it. "Best thing 'bout that is, there're games with comedic bents in almost every genre ever. Means there's a lot t' choose from! Maybe a good thing t' start with is a quick classic. Crash Bandicoot 2 is a nice, wacky platformer game... or maybe we should jump t' Twinsanity, it's got more story to it, not as streamlined though... hrm... I'll hafta give it a think." |

"Oh, thank you." The boy said with a smile as he reached for the much desired beverage. Very briefly, he let his gaze scroll past all the flavors of that particular brand of soda... ...Curry? "I heard there was this puzzle computer game that was funny? Like... You had this weird gun thing or something?" He was pretty sure he spotted Machi talking about it the other day, something to do with portals, but Yuki found it best not to interrupt. "I don't mind trying different genres. I'm sure there's something good about all of them, no?" Crash... He remembered that one! "I think I played the first game of that franchise back in the first PlayStation? I was still just a kid, though... I don't remember much." |

"Oh yeah, there's Portal, that's awesome," Kyo said, spinning on her heel to walk back to the counter so she could pay for her drink. "How much y'like that one depends on whether ya like black humor, though. So it may or may not be for you. Still, those two games're classic, definitely somethin' ya gotta try at least once. Second game's even got a co-op story, so actually that's a great place t' start." Kyo stopped and spun around again when she reached the counter, spun to face Yuki again with an exuberant and enthusiastic grin on her face. "Hope you're good at puzzle-solvin', 'cause if we play through that I'm gonna just pretend like I ain't solved all the puzzles three times already and play like a total dumbass, heheh." There were only two customers ahead of them in line--a boyfriend treating his girlfriend to a lunch, from the looks of it, so it might as well have just been one customer. Wouldn't take long to finish up here... |

"Portal..." The boy repeated to himself, and nodded a bit as if in self-confirmation. The game was definitely about portals, he just wasn't aware that was literally its very name. The simplistic idea actually piqued his interest. "Ah, I'm definitely interested then." Yuki nodded as they made their way towards the counter. Co-oping did sound like something he'd like to do, due to liking to interact with other people. Competing, however, not so much. "I'm no slouch, I think, though I ask for forgiveness in case I hold up the game." He laughed it off, despite actually being entirely serious. "Other than the Portal series, are there any good co-op games I should look up?" It seemed like a trip to Tanjiro was in order. |

"The New Super Mario Brothers games and Super Mario 3D World ain't bad," Kyo said, tilting her head to one side. "The LittleBigPlanet games're good fun, too, if ya don't mind wadin' through piles o' really shitty player-generated stuff t' get to the good levels. T'be honest, though, I don't do as much co-op stuff as competitive, so you'd be better off lookin' up reviews on the Internet." She didn't seem to take Yuki's pre-emptive apology, she just slipped up to the counter as soon as the customers up front moved along and swung her thumb over her back. "One Ramune original for him on me, too," she said, setting her energy drink on the counter. She dug into her pockets for some yen coins, glancing back at Yuki. "Anyways, I've got stuff t'do today, so I can't hang out now, but whenever we both have some time, let's get together and do all that, yeah? Maybe I'll do some online shoppin' for a good skateboard..." |
