"Alright, sorry I haven't been able to do this sooner! I've only recently been released from the hospital, I'm afraid. I'm okay now!" She gave a deep bow from her waist.

Her stark-white hair was in an updo, dangly fish earrings safely stowed in a locker and she wore the Hakama and standard gear of the Archery club. In one hand was a lengthy bow, and in the other? A set of rubber-tipped training arrows. If he was really as lethally inept with a bow as he said? Something with a nice soft rounded tip might bruise, but it was hardly the instrument of death a standard arrow could be in the right (or wrong) hands.

"Now then, Kazuma-san? Let's see what you can do? Maybe I can tell you what you're doing wrong?" To be on the safe-side, the part of target that she and Aki were going to use for practice was partially partitioned off with a few cubicle boards borrowed from elsewhere, that had been enough to cut off the spots so misfires weren't a hazard for the whole club.

She handed him one of the rubber-tipped arrows and then stepped back. "Arlight, just notch and draw the arrow for now, don't loose until I say so, I just wanna see if there's any obvious mistakes with that you're making that might screw up your aim."

Oh, he was probably exaggerating, no one's that bad with a bow, right?

'…maybe you should be wearing eye protection?'

On the polished floor-boards of the archery range, there was a boy with a curly mass of hair doing his very best at archery practice. He lay on one side, chest rising and falling rhythmically with the gentle sound of his rising-falling breaths. Kumori Yatsu was one of the most proficient archers on the team, and also one of the sleepiest. In the warmth of the sun, draped in his hakama, the boy was curled up a little further in his contentment and slept.

Aki’s day wasn’t really phenomenal, he lost one of his lenses and had now two different colored eyes, purple and blue and the teachers weren’t really nice today. Now, he had tons of things to do and he started thinking to skip everything just to go somewhere he could relax. But he knew he wouldn’t do it, he promised to go train his bow skills with Hanako one day, what he wanted to do seriously. He didn’t saw her much since last time, but he hadn’t forgotten her like some people do when they don’t see each other much. Maybe because he found her real nice and cheerful.. Or maybe because he couldn’t simply forget any cute girl he saw and talked with. He made his way to the Archery Club, hoping that everything would turn out fine.

He was in the club room for about ten minutes before Hanako entered it. First thing he noticed was her now white hair. In his little book, he writes down that she had dark hair and Aki was sure that he didn’t make any error. Didn’t she say that she came back from hospital? He didn’t even know something like this. Did he sleep all this time? But even so, he kind of.. liked her with white hairs too. He wanted to ask her why, but he could easily ask her later. He did see another member of the club taking a nap, so leaved it alone.

If you say that everything is alright, then it’s alright. Even if I’m a little worried now.” He looked at the target and saw all the defenses for the case his arrow decided not to go the way it has to go. He took the arrow and did what Hanako told him to, even if it looked a bit non-used to do it.

Like.. This?” He looked for a second at her, still a bit confused to see white hairs instead of dark, but he rejected those thoughts to concentrate and be calm. For now, everything was fine, just just fine.. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

If she was asked about her hair, Hanako had a very simple explanation for why. Since she wasn't, that would have best been saved for another day. Right now, she had other things to focus on!

Like Aki's drawing technique. "Well, what if you tried doing it more like this?" She took an arrow of her own and drew her bow, but not before she suggested. "Here, but that one away and watch this, alright? Pay especially close attention to how I keep my shoulders and footing, okay?"

Aki put the arrow away and nearly hit himself from being so delighted; he was here to be better with the help of Hanako, not to hope that he will never have to use a bow again today! He put his arrow away and watched what Hanako was doing. It was a bit of.. embarrassing to look at her closely like that, but if he wanted to avoid killing people, he had to do it without showing any sign of uneasiness or even think about it like he did. After seeing her taking position, he tried it himself, without the arrow at first. He found it a bit more difficult this way, probably because he has now the habit to do it like before. After a few more trying out, it was still difficult, but he had it.

Is it good like this?” He tried to hold it longer and to be like her, so he wouldn’t commit a fault again. But he was surprised. He didn’t make any harm! Mostly because he hadn’t touched any arrow. But even like that, he was happy to train.

"Ex...cuse me..."

The boy in the corner rose from his slumber and pushed himself to his feet. He stretched and yawned as he blinked the sleep from his eyes and turned his attention to the pair of archers. Kumori hadn't heard a word of their conversation, but from how they were standing, it seemed like Hanako was mentoring Aki.

"If you don't mind me interrupting... Your shoulders are a bit high and you're twisting your torso slightly forward. Keep your shoulders level and you body parallel to where you want to shoot. Try not to tense up to keep the pose; it will come to you naturally if you keep on practicing."

"Oh! You're welcome to help if you want! I don't mind the interruption at all!" If anything, Kumori would be a huge help! Hanako could hit a target when she aimed at it with a more or less reliable rate, but he was head and shoulders more qualified to give Aki good advice.

"In fact? I wouldn't mind if you'd give me a few pointers if you don't mind, Yatsu-san!" She beamed. It seemed Aki would be shooting straight in no time at all at their current rate.

The young man nearly jumped as he heard another voice behind him. Another member of the Archery Club appeared and Aki just heard something: Yatsu-san.. It reminded him about something, but it was yet impossible to tell what. Well, it seems he wanted to help, so he was just grateful about it. He tried it the way Yatsu was describing it and found it for now.. Uneasy. But as he said, it will come one day, so he just had to practice more.

I don’t mind it too! Thanks!” He smiled in the direction of the boy. He tried to see if his natural pose at the beginning changed since the beginning, but he wanted anything to go fast, didn't he? He felt a bit less embarrassed and was in the mood for a little talk. “So, how long have you two been practicing?

Kumori mumbled something that vaguely resembled a number and seemed to grab towards some invisible something and mimed the motion of drinking, relying on muscle memory. A groan escaped his throat as he realized what the lack of warmth meant: he wasn't at home and it wasn't a weekend. As Full Analysis kicked in and a mental map of auras broke through the haze of his mind, he noticed that the two he was talking to weren't people from a dream.

"Oh. Um. Okay. I've been practicing... I don't... know? Since middle school. Your form is looking better. Maybe? It might feel weird to you now, but you'll find yourself shooting better—if you relax, I mean."

Hanako stood aside with her hands behind her back. She was more than happy to let Kumori take over! Clearly the more experience that could help the better, right?

"Me? I've not been practicing too long. The fact that I'm able to even show you something useful is that I had some really good pointers from people like Yatsu-san!"
