Two more? Well if you aren't the luckiest bastard! Jiro first responded to his classmate, introductions could wait a little bit. "That's right! You're the Ueda girl! Don't worry, you're among friends here. I don't think anyone is gonna tell on us for swapping horror stories." The last bit was mock whispered. With a full lean in and hand covering the other side of his face. Jiro offered a wink to Sayuri. He then directed his attention to the two others. "Greetings and saluations! Jiro Takenaka at your service!" He stood and mock bowed before taking his seat again. "Anyway, the pleasure of meeting three beautiful women within such a short span of time is all mine. No Aleph, you don't count. You already know two of them." With that, he popped a piece of sushi in his mouth. Edited by Exodin, Oct 20 2013, 06:10 PM.

Hmmm, Sayuri seemed nice, if kind of shy. And Aleph was the same as always, which was always good, at least he wasn't in the throes of some giant crisis again. But Jiro? Hmmm, there's something about the way he acted, she was sure she got the tail end of what he was saying before, too. Hanako just smiled and said what was on her mind: "Oh, Takenaka-san. There's no need to try so hard to be cool or outrageous. Just y'know, be yourself?" With that said, she was pretty sure between the shy girl and how awkward things would have been with Aleph and Machi, that perhaps claiming their own quiet corner of the roof to eat lunch and leaving the first-years to their own devices would have been best. "Anyways, don't mind us! I think we'll be over there." She pointed to a bench a bit away from the three first years. It seemed like a good candidate for what she was hoping for. Aleph smiled as the conversation went on. Sayuri seemed somewhat like she wanted to run and hide into a corner, but she seemed to be opening up easily. Jiro didn't look like he was going to blow up in anyone's faces again, and Machi didn't seem to be acting like a cold and heartless wretch to Aleph. And best of all, Aleph wasn't on the ground crying, and his groin was still intact. Everything seemed perfectly peaceful. ...And that was the most unsettling thing Aleph had noticed out of the entire day. Somehow, he didn't feel like this amount of tranquility and peacefulness was normal. Was it even normal at all? I guess you're just not used to things actually going your way after all those batshit times. Maybe you're actually more used to fucking up than you are at succeeding. ....I guess. At this point, this peaceful atmosphere feels completely plastic, fragile, and just....fake. Aleph now remembered why too. It was Akira Ito's first day in Kendo Club all over again. A new student somehow finding himself or herself caught up in a whirlpool of tension and hatred among an existing group yet the group tries so hard not to show it. They were wearing a mask to hide their hatred from other people. And the hatred at that time in Kendo was mostly pointed at Aleph, all of which he knew he didn't entirely deserve it. People didn't deserve to be hated just for being stupid. Aleph now felt slightly paranoid as the conversation went on. It all felt like a minefield now. One false step, and everything and everyone would be blown away by dysfunction. Aleph was pulled out of his reminiscent trance by Hanako's response to Jiro. Be yourself? Beee yourself~ Beee yourself~ Except you don't know this 'yourself' concept because you don't know yourself, do you? Aleph stayed still for moment. Did he really not know himself at all, despite being so confident and sure that he did? Aleph shook his head. He'd rather not get into a deep and thoughtful argument with his Shadow right now. He turned to Sayuri. "Are you in any clubs, Sayuri-san?" He asked. |

"Nice to meet you," Sayuri mumbled to Maichi. She ultimatly popped another dumpling in her mouth to give it something to do. It also meant she didn't have to come up with a horror story about Rozen-sensei even if that was Jiro's way of being friendly. The teacher was strict with their english composition but Sayuri didn't want to think of people badly like that. She still didn't get why Jiro encircled her with the 'beauties' unless he called all girls that. But did he always? Hanako suggested he was trying to 'act cool' or some how even 'cooler' then he was during classes. When the older students gestured over to the bench Sayuri felt silly for sitting on a vent. She kept forgeting there were a few benches up on the roof. But there wouldn't be room if everyone moved so she stayed put. "Clubs?" Sayuri asked when her mouth was empty. "I've been to Cooking Club. And Art. Sometimes." She was a poor attender, Aleph probably regularly attended dozens of clubs. |

A pleasure to meet both of them? Machi fought the urge to take that back, regarding Jiro. The lack of politeness - mockery of it even -, trying too hard, talking too much, being a nuisance in general... That level of need for attention instantly reminded her of Aleph; but, for once, said boy didn't seem to be the worst of the bunch. Her face didn't show a flicker of emotion as Jiro went on, and she opted not to respond at all, finding it not worth her time. Instead? "Cooking? Yuki-kun is in that club, last I heard... He said he made a friend there. Is he doing well?" There was no harm in inquiring about her own fiancée. The boy had been having some trouble, unsurprisingly, to get along with people in that area; she wished the very best for him, despite the circumstances. "Oh?" She glanced over her shoulder as Hanako pointed to the bench, instantly remembering what they went there to do in the first place. "That's right, Hana-chan, I've been meaning to discuss something with you... Shall we go?" |

Jiro leaned forward and squinted. As if he was really trying to process what this Ito girl had just said. I wonder if she'd make a splat if I tossed her off the roof. Jiro suddenly sat back up. That thought had been a bit dark, even for him. "You'll...have to forgive me for trying to impress a few strangers. Scarf Boy over here is my only buddy right now. Can't blame me for wanting a few more right?" The sentence started out slow and meticulous, as if he was carefully thinking of what to say. Only for his jovial tone and pace to quickly return. He then mentally brushed off the two older students and redirected his attention to his fellow first years. "So Ueda, you like to cook?" |

"Oh, if you say so!" Her tone was full of levity, even as she added. "Personally, I just know you'll put off more people than attract that way. There's really no need to put on airs around people you just met. It can be a bit…much!" With her piece said, she waved to the three upperclassmen, and it was time to head over to that distant bench to talk with her BFF. She was all smiles …right up until their backs were safely turned to Aleph, Sayuri and Jiro. Her expression suddenly became quite serious and she had a question she needed to ask. "So…the new transfer into our homeroom? What's this I hear about him being Shou's stepbrother?" She asked in a conspiratorial whisper directed towards Machi. She knew enough of Shou's situation to to be very alert of such things regarding someone from his past randomly showing up. And that meant she knew enough to keep her eyes on Katsu, and to keep her knives good and sharp. She knew she couldn't just go all out like a raving lunatic anymore, but if it meant protecting someone important to her that was a different story, right? Aleph smiled as heard Jiro respond to Hanako, though he couldn't help but wonder why Jiro slowed down in his speech before returning to his normal speech. Must have been somewhat deep, what Hanako said. Hell yes! He considers us a friend! Yeah. Because we are his friend...his only friend....damn. Now Aleph was starting to feel pity for Jiro, now that he knew this fact. Better not let him blow up in anyone's face again, because that wouldn't be too good for anyone, especially for Sayuri. Speaking of Sayuri, Aleph listened to her response. It turned out that she attended Cooking club as well as Art club. Aleph smiled. "That's great, Sayuri-san." Aleph said. "I attend Art club too. So, you like to paint?" |

Yuki-kun--who? Was that question directed to her? Let alone Sayuri hadn't been to Cooking Club in a while so she didn't remember all the names with faces, being put on the spot like that made her mind freeze up even if she new the answer. Sayuri looked away from Machi again, who seemed to be moving to sit elsewhere with her peers. She was starting to turn pink with embarrassment, no her own but from Jiro's testy response. Was it true that he didn't have that many friends? He turned back to ask her a question. "Do I like to cook? Well yes, I'm used to it, sometimes I help out the cooking at home." As she talked Sayuri was trying to combat that thought in the back of her mind. Of course you like cooking, isn't there ample evidence to that fact? Isn't that what they're all thinking? "Paint," she parroted, trying to stem the self-conscience critiques with conversation. "Oh no, I can't paint at all. Just draw, really, I guess." After all, Jiro could be 'putting on airs,' he probably wouldn't talk to you or consider you a 'beauty' at all. |

Akira approached the rooftop, carrying a microwavable ramen he warmed beforehand. He was lazy like that, and not near a cook. He saw his group of familiar friends; within them an unfamiliar face. Aleph was also there, not that he hated Aleph, but he had a got an overly protective suspicious feeling when he was around. Akira sat down quietly, without a hello or a gesture, not wanting to interrupt the conversation. Akira looked around the table - after opening his ramen - specifically at the unfamiliar male. He caught the details that he liked to cook and draw, but that didn't really paint a personality for him. Akira was quite defensive like this, he wouldn't exactly be comfortable around a new person until he knew they were 'safe' in his eyes. His face was anything from showing that emotion. He actually had an optimistic look on his face, untypical of Akira. He focused on trying to get up to speed on the conversation. Edited by NocturneSR, Oct 22 2013, 10:10 PM.
